Monster Hunter Wilds Smashes Capcom Record with 10 Million Units Sold 1

Monster Hunter Wilds has tagged on another two million units in the weeks since its release, as the fictional animal slaughtering sim has now sold over 10 million units. If you recall, the release topped eight million units just three days after its arrival.

Capcom says this is a “first month sales record” for the company, and it points to the franchise’s growing appeal along with the new elements introduced in this sequel which contributed to its overall success.

A first major update is planned for 4th April, which the publisher hopes will spark new interest in the title. And moving forward, it’s planning further content drops and updates that will “delight players”.

The organisation said: “Capcom remains firmly committed to satisfying the expectations of all users by leveraging its industry leading game development capabilities in order to create highly entertaining gameplay experiences.”

Interestingly, these sales will put the game seventh on its all-time best-sellers list, less than a million units behind Resident Evil Village’s lifetime total. It’s already almost halfway towards matching Monster Hunter: World, which has sold 21.3 million units life-to-date excluding the Iceborne Master Edition – an impressive feat all things considered.
