It’s been a rough generation for Sony’s flagship first-party studio Naughty Dog.
While its survival horror series The Last of Us is more popular than ever, thanks to HBO Max’s superb live action adaptation of the franchise, it hasn’t actually released a new game since 2020.
However, those hoping it’s all-new endeavour, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, could be out as early as 2026 are going to be disappointed: Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, writing on the ResetEra forum, has hinted the game won’t be ready next year, meaning we’re looking at a 2027 launch date at the earliest.
That means it’ll be at least seven years between Naughty Dog games – a far cry from the PS3 era, when the Uncharted trilogy and The Last of Us all launched within a single generation. Of course, the complexity of games has increased since then, and the pandemic also disrupted the early part of this generation.
The Californian developer also lost a lot of time working on a multiplayer version of The Last of Us, which sounded wildly ambitious. It ultimately decided to cancel the project, explaining that the resources it would have taken to support it would have prevented it from making more single player games.
While it’s all understandable, it’s hard to shake the feeling that this generation may end up a wasted one. We’re sure Intergalactic will be incredible when it eventually launches, but if it’s still more than two years away, it means we’ll probably only get one new game from Naughty Dog on the PS5.

Sony really, really shot itself in the foot with live service.
PS5 has been a really weak gen for Naughty Dog. I don’t mind the remasters/remakes unlike most, but only one potential new game/IP that’s probably releasing near the end of the life cycle? That’s not the best generation for such a prolific studio IMO
@itsfoz To be fair, Naughty Dog seemed to really want to make the multiplayer game.
Can’t wait loved every nd game to date the studio can do no wrong imo.
@get2sammyb Definitely see SIE taking a more hands on approach with the studios. The hands off approach seems to no longer work with developer scope creep.
Aside from the hype and pandemic related fomo they have ridden for years now. Having experienced every Playstation generation thus far, I feel that In terms of true first party output, along with just general brand conduct; I would say this generation is their lowest point from a gamer centric standpoint.
However, the profits being literally the opposite of that, coupled with the Xbox shift, only ensures Sony will learn the wrong things from this generation's fumbles.
Hopefully enough wake up and vote with their wallet to encourage change in operations, development efficiency/trajectory, and gamer facing conduct in the future. Buying up every cash grab piece of hardware and double dipping software output and defending all things due to brand allegiant willful ignorance isn't helping....
Yeah that guy and his passive aggressive opinions can say whatever they want lol.
I'm a simple man, I have been a Housemarque fan for almost 15 years and next year the world will give them the place they deserve (after neglecting Returnal just because of Selene). This wasn't a wasted generations for me, a lot good games and now we are living the soft rebuilding PlayStation deserved after the Ryan age.
I trust ND, when this game is ready I'll be there.
It's been a lean generation for naughty dog..ps3 era had 3 uncharted games and TLOU at least. Ps4 had 2 more uncharted games plus the remasters (not naughty dog) and remaster of TLOU. Ps5 gen (this gen not next) has been poor..remaster after remaster. It must be awful to be raking in all that money from 2 ip's. Personally I can't wait for intergalactic but I'll take solace in the fact there will be another remake/remaster of TLOU2.
@KundaliniRising333 indeed. I agree with you apart from your final sentence but other than that (your stiche I get it) you are Bob on 👍
Well at least we still have Ghosts and...
...
...
...
Wasn't there a Wolverine game, or something...?
OH! That one game by Housemarque — whatever that was.
So we got Ghosts and what's-its-face. Truly a magical generation...
EDIT: I'm sorry, AND Fairgame$.
Feels lean all round for sony first party titles. Shame so much resources was wasted but will never understand how they messed up a live action tlou though with a team like budgie involved.
This will definitely go down as one of the weakest PlayStation generations. The frequency of first party games is a real disappointment. Yeah yeah yadda yadda “industry is changing games are more expensive to make and graphics are better than ever” yeah sure… but we’re definitely hitting diminishing returns in terms of graphical fidelity at this point.
@get2sammyb Yes, ND wanted to make this multiplayer thing. And then Bungie told them what it would mean to run a live service game, which seems to be two different levels of effort and dedication. The live service strategy is failed.
@RoomWithaMoose you forgot concord……oh wait..
@get2sammyb They did, but this lack of content across the board for their first party studios is a direct consequence of their live service priorities.
People don’t like to admit it, but if we really want large scope games at a good cadence, we need to develop AI assistance sharpish.
Good thing they spent so much wasted time developing Last Of Us online just to realize "oh *****! we need to support this thing?!?!?!" dummys...
The first two years of PS5 were great for me, seemed like a continuation of the PS4 era.
Now from Sony Studios it almost comparable to the last full year of the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo’s in house AAA games, very very lean.
At least Nintendo should bounce back latter this year with some big AAA for switch 2.
2027 means crossgen... great way to start the PS6, considering PS5 left a very sour taste in this dept.
Worst thing about it though, will be the social media drama that will be dragged along for years and at least 6 months after launch.
I hope they continue to keep details about the game bottled up as much as possible for as long as possible... religious controversy is NOT to be trifled with.
At the very least ND and Sony should take ample measures to protect the devs, prevent what happened after TLoU 2 from happening again...
I don’t mind I’ve got plenty to play and ND are like Rockstar they are worth the wait because when they do release a game it’s guaranteed to be a masterpiece. Now that I think of it Rockstar has gone even longer between releases like thirteen years so seven is small potatoes compared to that lol.
This is why I don’t get hyped up for anything I can’t buy within the next few months.
My view is that if you have nothing to sell me, you are wasting my time and should stop, get back to work and stop revealing non-existent products.
It annoys me that large numbers of new indie games release to zero coverage on sites like Push Square every week, because they are filling their pages with vapourware from big industry darlings.
I guess hype-monkey gamers ultimately take the blame though, as the media wouldn’t be doing it if a significant proportion of their readers didn’t want it.
I got to be honest, as much as I love my Pro, this has been without a doubt the worst generation for PS by a country mile.
No new ND games, no new games from Cory or Bend Studio, only one game from SSM and Guerilla which were both cross gen, a disappointing Spider-Man 2 that didn’t live up to the hype, and so many pants games like Destruction All Stars, Concord, and an array of timed exclusive flops like Babylon’s Fall, Godfall and Forspoken, all whilst prices are going up for everything and the company itself feels far more colder towards it’s players.
We need an absolute barn stormer of a last few years before the PS6 comes in 2028, that’s for damn sure.
@Shinnok789 I still don’t think the PS6 comes anywhere before 2028, but if it really did come in 2027 that would just be an even bigger indicator to how much this gen has sucked.
Who thinks same, developers should start making games for PS8 so it's ready right in time???
It's ridiculous and one must ask why PS3 era was able to produce dozens of good games in a few months while PS5 era is still whining games takes too long to make and hardly pushing few speculative games a year?
So it's a launchgame for ps6?
@Contimaloris if only they were internet smart guys who never get anything wrong.
It is interesting that people tend to forget how bad the early PS4 years were outside of Bloodborne. It only really kicked off in 2016 with Uncharted 4 and truly broke out in 2017.
I think Sony playing their cards close to their chest and the rise of multiple leakers has made a big difference to perception. Personally this gen has been great for me so far. I'm never short of games to play, consistent high quality releases. One or two amazing first party exclusives every year that are excellent (don't care what people say but SM2 was a 9/10 and nowhere near as disappointing as a commenter up claims).
The two studios that really do upset me though are Bend and Bluepoint. Bluepoint it was still early on with cancellation after a year or so but Bend have wasted a lot of time. Media Molecule too because Dreams was a stupid idea and Shu great as he was, was an idiot to give them a decade to make it.
Then you'll be getting it on PS6 then
COVID
Slow/high demand of computer chips/parts
Scalpers
High prices
Delay of game development based on thin staff numbers
Really didn't help PS5 at all
I know Xbox is meant to be releasing their PC hybrid in 2027, But this game getting a 2027 date does lead me to believe PS6 will also be out that year too. A naughty Dog game as a lauch would helo shift consoles.
@itsfoz not only that no one fighting back at it is also a problem.
naughty dog is turning into a useless studio like media molecule.
i would have shut both studios down for not releasing a new game after 3 to 4 years.
especially at what they cost to keep up.
PS studios have been all over the place since Shu moved to indies and Herman took over.
@CWill97 PS5 has been really weak for most Playstation studios you mean? Insomniac and Team Asobi it keeping Sony afloat together with Arrowhead Games Studio (Helldivers 2)
Going into this generation Sony had 21 first party studios, aquired a few more and now the got rid of a few and have less during the beginning of the last half of this generation.
They need to sort this out a.s.a.p.
No need to buy a PS6 at release as they haven't even got their PS5 games out yet...
@Zeke68 Not going to add Sucker Punch to that list? Or Housemarque?
@DonJorginho End of 2027 marks the console's usual 7 year lifespan.
And given the ever growing emphasis on Ray Tracing, already starting to become mandatory (slowly but steadily), the now low power of the PS5, and the unavoidable limitations that the PS5 Pro will reach in future games, I'd say Sony will stick to the established time frame.
Oh man! I thought Sony had stopped showing games that were still years away from coming out. Am I right in thinking all Sony are releasing this year is Death Stranding 2 and Ghost of Yotei? All hail MS for getting us through these lean times. I've never used gamepass as much. 😂
@Oram77 Sucker Punch haven't released anything yet so no. I forgot Housemarque but that's still a total of 5 studios out of 19 that actually released anything for the PS5 counting Bend's Demon's Souls Remake almost 5 years ago....
Well I sincerely hope it's a duration of time that's focused on new and unique gameplay rather than time spent on making the cut scenes indistinguishable from a movie.
I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they release a remastered version of this game on PS6🙄
If this is the case, then it was announced way too early. I thought the reason we weren't hearing anything was because Sony was saving the reveal of titles until closer to release. Guess that's not the case with this one. If after a year without most studios outputting anything, they basically just have Ghost of Yotei, that will look bad again.
I was hoping for 2026 but this isn't really a surprise either, TLOU2 released in 2020 how long do y'all think a new AAA Naughty Dog IP takes to make? In reality take as much time as you need to make it brilliant.
This has been my least favourite PlayStation generation so far. The lack of games, pointless remasters and too many cross-gen releases have made it an expensive waste of time.
And yet PS5 sales are in fantastic shape. It's weird.
Hopefully Sony don't continue this way. Hopefully the massive recent drop in PS+ membership numbers will make them pay attention.
@Zeke68 Here's the list of PS Studios published games released since PS5 released (new games and complete remakes only)
This will always be subjective, but I think that's pretty reasonable in just 4 years and 4 months. Could they do better? Sure. But they could also be doing a LOT worse.
The Last of Us Part I (aka the remake) is also considered a new game by virtue of the entire game being rebuilt in the TLOUpt2 engine.
Most people think it's just a graphics and animation upgrade, but it truly is far more than that. Every aspect was upgraded to its TLOUpt2 counterpart. Obviously, it doesn't have newly designed/crafted game content, but it did have completely new weapon handling, enemy AI, and gameplay animation system.
1st party-wise, yes it's been slim pickings unfortunately. Thankfully though, 2nd/3rd party has carried the generation on their shoulders. They have done a great job finding great talent around the industry and giving them the resources necessary for success.
It's reminded me of the PS2 generation in a lot of ways which isn't a bad thing. Would I have liked more output from 1st party? Sure but I certainly haven't felt a lack of great games in general to play this generation. Just had to go to others for them which is fine.
@KeanuReaves It's not a new game if it has an old story that's already been told. So that's a stretch for sure.
@SMJ PlayStation is selling well because Xbox is effectively dead. Overall console sales are diminishing and pc sales are increasing.
Long term pc gaming will take larger market share. Especially as more dedicated plug and play gaming pc’s come on the market.
Steam has changed the game and is so consumer friendly. It makes Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft look terrible
@Zeke68 but thats how it works. It might be uninteresting for you personally but for the people who wanted it they got something new there.
@themightyant I stand corrected. But I was talking about 1st party only. And I forgot to add non sports, non multiplayer - just single playergames, as that is all that I play anyway.
And you mention Rise of Ronin and so on, those aren't made by 1st party. And MLB, who plays that apart from americans and very VERY few europeans?
And now we count Spiderman games, Horizon and God Of War all of a sudden, even if they are more PS4 games than PS5 games if we are honest?? Don't think so.
To be clear, I meant 1st party only and games that are only released on PS5. Not crossgen.
@KeanuReaves It's still not a "new" game as you can buy and play it on PS3 and PS4.. Same game, different graphics.
@Zeke68 Why ignore cross-gen? It's here to stay for the first several years of every gen for most large AAA games, game budgets are just too big otherwise.
Think of it this way. If God of War Ragnarok or Horizon: Forbidden West had ONLY released on PS5 in 2022 they would have to be much smaller, cheaper games as the PS5 console market was much smaller at that stage. They can't make $250+ million back easily on PS5 alone at that stage. This is why in the first few years almost all the exclusives were smaller lower budget titles and remakes.
I included Rise of the Ronin etc. because SONY consider these First Party, they have had a large hand in making them and invested a lot of money into their development. Shuhei Yoshida talked about this. What is the difference between owning the studio or not? It's still money from their total game development budget they are paying into having games made.
Lastly while I can understand saying "I only like X type of game", and so the releases may not be interesting to you - that's fair we all like different things - but it's also not right to dismiss all those other games, they aren't making games just for you.
I guess spending years making a live service game without doing basic research into what it takes to actually keep a live service game running is probably a bad idea.
Absolutely one of the first PS5 / PS6 Crossover games then
It better proper look like it’s from the future, cos it will be
The PS5 generation will be remembered as being particularly weak, due to the massive amount of time Sony wasted while chasing the live service bag.
@breakneck I agree, the generation has been great in spite of Sony first party fumbling a lot of their projects. The second and third party output has really saved the day. The best move Sony’s made seems to have been investing in emerging markets.
sure they always take a lot of time to make a game like U4 and LOUP2
@themightyant Although I do agree that the first party output is oft underestimated by the fandom, and I thank you for putting together the list, but Forbidden West is listed twice. And MLB is listed five times. 😜
(I’m mostly joking, by the way. I know all five are different games… kind of.)
Oh, and Concord… I mean, basically vaporware, right? It released, technically speaking, but barely. 😂
Still, there’s some good games on there.
This and next year are quite stack because PS owners will have:
etc etc
So ND can take their time with Intergalactic and that goes the same for other Sony 1st party studios who's busy working on their games.
@themightyant Thanks for the list! However, the list reminds me how few PS Studios games I’ve liked this generation, personally, and how many of them were sequels that paled in comparison to their PS4 predecessors. For me at least. There’s a lot of output, but I think people feel the way that they do because they remember generations where they liked game-after-game releases more often. We’re getting more games, but they have more diluted impact. Again, for me.
That said, I can totally understand where someone would be pleased with Ragnarok, HFW, and Spider Man 2, but, for me, that’s an ok batch. Gaming is a little bit subjective, you know? This generation, only Astro Bot, Rift Apart, Returnal, and Gran Turismo really stood out for me with Sony first party, and, truthfully, Astro Bot’s the only 10 for me
I was talking to a friend yesterday and he had basically told me that the only game he bought this year so far was Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and he didn’t like it and he hasn’t liked anything he’s bought in about half a year, so he’s just not going to buy anything, and play Marvel Rivals for now til Death Stranding 2 and MGS Delta comes out. He has the money to buy every game he could want and yet, he struggles to find games he likes now. The last single player game he finished, I think, was Rebirth. The year before, he had finished a dozen games or so. I think there’s a lot of people feeling like that with gaming right now, where they’re asking, “Where’s Uncharted? Where’s Bioshock? Where’s Elder Scrolls? Where’s Metal Gear? The games I loved are gone now.” Even my spending is way, way down now and I used to buy 30-40 games a year. This year, I’m at 5 so far. Granted, that’s probably healthier, but it’s interesting to me.
So naught dog has released NO new games for PS5 and the one they are working on is at least 2 years away.
The only reason the live service push didn't kill Playstation is because xbox is in even worse shape.
How is Helmer Hulst still employed at Playstation? Wasn't he the one pushing this ***** hard?
Man, this dude has made hate Horizon and Guerrilla Games XD
can we just please go back to ps3 era type games with just updated resolution and frame rate?
I’ve said it before and I guess it’s time to say it again.
The PS5 generation has been a good one, but it’s easily the worst PlayStation generation I’ve ever experienced.
@Boxmonkey I don’t agree that PS is selling well cause Xbox is struggling. Sony has always sold a ton of hardware. Well outside of handheld. However Xbox’s hybrid PC console under the tv will allow younger kids and adults a great entry point into a non closed box. Given them an open PC like platform. With that taste maybe in a few year they build a PC and carry all those games over with them. Along for the ride is all their game saves etc etc. locked down boxes in 10 years will get an ugly eye from younger gamers. I am looking forward to PC and under the tv PC/console hybrids in the upcoming future.
As someone that only uses a PS console for a few exclusive games. This gen has been a bust for me. Sure i had some fun with PS5. But i am in the process of saving up to build a killer PC and of course throw in a Switch 2 and i will be covered. I’ll play Sony games on Steam with a controller i like more and call it a day. They will still get some of my money, but i don’t need a PS console for 1-2 releases a year they claim they will be on going forward. Plus their live service push as people call it isn’t a push they have said they are continuing live service efforts. So those will come day and date to Steam. For now i will keep my PS5 unless someone wants to buy it all and i can use that money for my GPU/CPU combo.
Sony this generation has inspired me to abandon Playstation. Next gen I'll be steam deck and switch. I've already abandoned ps+. PS5 has been a huge disappointment to me, and I've bought ever playstation since PS1.
@Th3solution thanks for the correction. I meant Horizon: Call of the Mountain as the second.
I deliberately included games like Concord and Destruction Allstars because it’s important to remember not all games will be hits.
@themightyant I understand. The record rate of withdrawal of Concord definitely epitomizes ‘not being a hit.’ 😄
@The_ghostmen
Media Molecule actually came to my mind for a comparison as well. This is yet another thing that makes it feel that ND is being grossly mismanaged. The whole TLoU online debacle with them realizing after 4 years of development “oops, this is gonna take a lot of work,” followed by its cancelation, suggests negligence and/or incompetence. I’ve never missed the days of Amy Hennig more than I have lately. Freakin legend. Insane they fired her.
@CP2 "I’ve never missed the days of Amy Hennig more than I have lately. Freakin legend. Insane they fired her"
ND didn't fired her. She decided to leave the studio because she wants to make a Star Wars game. That's why she joined Visceral Game who at that time worked on a single player Star Wars project name Project Ragtag. Amy was the project leader but the project was in development hell that leads EA to closed down the studio.
The protagonist will have hair by then.
Not buying a PS6.
Not surprised but look, naughty dog has been acting like a studio that has been reduced to a skeleton crew. It obviously hasn’t, but this really indicates a problem with decision making. It would be releasing this year if they weren’t wasting so many resources on remasters no one wanted, nor a life service title that never made it out the door.
I will be 37 come mid 2027, I make no promises I’ll still give a darn about gaming by then. Least of all from a studio whose glory days were during the PS3 era.
@CP2 glad I’m not alone with this sentiment. Tired of studios acting like it’s down to game developmental being hard or costly. It’s absolutely true both are a fact of life in this industry, but when you aren’t producing quality goods at all and the rate of project completion is so low I don’t buy the claim that it’s just the industry: it’s you.
Get rid of Neil, honestly. The longer he’s present the worse it’ll get, as his comments and general attitude suggest someone whose passion is long gone.
@arsmolinarc Hulst worked underneath Jim. Try telling your boss, who also happens to be CEO, to take a hike and that they’re wrong.
He was complicit without a doubt but don’t act like he somehow created all of the issues Sony has been through.
pushsquare, can you please make a poll about how we feel about the ps5 generation on the whole? i would like to see where the ps5 gen ranks in the history of playstation amongst the enthusiast readers of this site. i feel very confident that the ps5 will rank last for a myriad of reasons. once a controversial statement, it appears that others are beginning to feel the same way now and it can't be shrugged off as baseless or hyperbole. hopefully sony will take this as a lesson and be better with the ps6... but for now, everything has been all so uneventful and disappointing. this ND news proves the point very well. and no, we're not going to blame everything on covid. that is utter nonsense. most of the misteps are the result of sony's lack of focus and mismanagement — putting resources where they don't belong and above all, forgetting about its strengths and capitalizing on them.
@themightyant
Astro's Playroom [merely a glorified tech demo]
Demon's Souls [merely a remake]
Sackboy: A big Adventure [also on PS4]
Spider-man: Miles Morales [also on PS4]
Destruction Allstars [terrible/failed game]
MLB The Show 21 [also on PS4]
Returnal
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
Ghost of Tsushima: Legends (standalone) [also on PS4]
Horizon Forbidden West [also on PS4]
Gran Turismo 7 [also on PS4]
MLB The Show 22 [also on PS4]
The Last of Us Part 1 [remaster nobody wanted]
God of War Ragnarok [also on PS4]
Horizon: Call of the Mountain [merely an expansion]
MLB The Show 23 [also on PS4]
Spider-man 2
Helldivers 2
MLB The Show 24 [also on PS4]
Rise of the Ronin
Stellar Blade
Concord [let's not go there]
Astro Bot
Until Dawn [remaster nobody wanted]
Lego Horizon Adventures [terrible cashgrab game]
MLB The Show 25 [come on, it's just an annual sports game]
so out of the 26 games listed, only 16 are exclusive and only available on ps5 and not ps4.
out of the 16 ps5 games, 5 of them are remakes, remasters, expansions or glorified tech demos.
of the 11 remaining games, only 5 were developed by a sony 1st party studio.
the remaining 6 games were only published by sony and all but 1 was actually a game worth a damn [stellar blade]
so essentially, all you have to show for this entire generation so far, from sony 1st party studios as it pertains to new, noteworthy games designed specifically for the ps5 console:
Returnal
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
Spider-man 2
Astro Bot
sorry, but that is an abysmal offering, especially when you consider how sparse the next several years are looking for sony 1st party studios. all there's left is:
ghost of yotei
intergalactic
wolverine
santa monica's secret game [if it even releases on ps5]
most if not all their upcoming live service games will bomb and be forgotten as if they never existed...
the rest of the studios got burned due to mismanagement and live-service black hole projects that failed and we likely won't be seeing their new games until the ps6, meaning they will be cross gen on the ps5 and not even exclusive. this is an absolute failure of epic proportions for sony's first party studios and defending this generation as anything but disappointing is sheer comedy at this point.
@Porco that’s some serious mental gymnastics…. Why does it matter if a game is on another system? Does that alter your enjoyment somehow? But you do you. Have a good day.
@Zeke68 it literally is not the same game. Every element has been replaced with new implementations of everything. All systems including weapon handling is different. AI is also brand new.
@KeanuReaves You just made it very clear to me why Sony love to remaster/remake their games instead of making new I.P's!
I'm not their target audience any longer it seems, but you sure as heck seems to be.
Edit: So by your definition my original VHS copies of the original Star Wars trilogy isn't the same movies because they upgraded them digitally, added a few scenes and improved the sound from Stereo 2.0 to THX/ Dolby Atmos 7.1 on my 4K moviediscs? Sorry, but it's still the same movies just as Last Of Us is the same game despite what edition it is.
It's the same game. You can't convince me otherwise because it's just not true that the same game can be 2 different games.
@themightyant it's importantant to contextualize why there is growing sentinment around the idea that this is playstation's worst generation from an enthusiast standpoint and how the perceived "value" of the ps5 is fast diminishing. you can't really sugarcoat it. from top to bottom, they couldn't have done a worse job with their handling of 1st party studios and we are seeing the results. we have to look at this situation for what it really is and stop finding excuses. cheers!
@Porco Well I guess we will see how well PS5 and then PS6 sells to see how fans truly feel. If it doesn't represent value they simply won't buy a PS6. My money is on Sony.
I think the reality is most gamers don't care, or maybe don't even know, who makes the games they just want good games, first or third party doesn't matter. And right now there are more good games released every month than most gamers can ever play, we are spoiled for choice.
Do you really, genuinely, have a shortage of great games to play?
@Zeke68 Why are you ignoring everything that was changed?
@KeanuReaves Ignoring nothing, still the same game, its called Last Of Us (1)...
@themightyant i don't have a shortage of games to play because i have gradually become more invested in retro gaming this console generation. been a strong supporter of playstation since the 90s with the originnal ps1, but the lack of interest i have for the ps5 has given me time to catch up on my ps4 backlog, as well as the indie scene and legacy console games. it's been refreshing to be honest.
and for the record, i acknowledge that there is a systemic problem in the AAA industry at large and it isn't just a sony problem... but that doesn't change the fact that sony has made one too many bogus decisions this gen that have hurt its reputation. i skipped the ps5 and may even skip the ps6 if it doesn't right the ship with its first party offerings. ultimately, i'm very critical of sony because i expect more from the company that has traditionally held a very high standard — i do hope sony recovers and gets the magic back with the ps6. until then, i may consider getting a switch 2 and catching up on all the (switch 1) games i missed on that side of pond.
