No Platinum Trophy in Croc: Legend of the Gobbos Remaster's Meagre PS5 Trophy List

Stupid decision. This makes me rush through games, sadly

That's a shame, although I don't consider myself a trophy hunter, but for this game, I gladly welcome a platinum trophy if it was possible, whatever, i'll buy it anyway.

I never understand the reason behind not having a platinum trophy when the game has trophies anyways. Guess it’s one of life’s mysteries

Well we used to, but not anymore. On PS4 Sony would email you a code for a cook exclusive theme if you got the Platinum for Bloodborne or Horizon Zero Dawn but that's a thing of the past lol

I love trophies but it isn’t the end of the world personally. I will say a game like Croc is definitely for the enthusiasts and you get an entire injection of trophy hunters by simply having a plat, this is like actively hurting a smaller title.

Makes no difference to me. Was a day one purchase regardless

@Dalamar It's not about motivation. It's about them being lazy about something that is so simple to do. It's also a fundamental component of games nowadays, even if you don't interact with it.

I wait for a sale then, just to vote with my wallet. Every single game should have a Platinum, why do we even have them if developers don't use them?!

@Dalamar Diffrence is Nintendo never had trophies. But I been collecting platinums since mid PS3 gen when they were introduced. So ofc they should be used as they are in the devkits!!
I have a few hundred platinums so it's nice to keep the 100% trend going

I do find it funny how those who claim not to care about Trophies would actually appreciate the developers giving them more game challenges as long as no “Trophies” are attached. Almost like Trophies actually make a (negative) difference to their enjoyment of a game challenge.

I honestly don’t know what goes through the heads of devs/publishers who don’t have a plat. Puts me right off!

As the trophy challenges are there still, I’m in the camp of thinking it’s nonsensical to not have a plat, but it doesn’t make any difference. Now if there were no trophy challenges given at all, that would be a shame.

@Foxhound sorry I left my fanboy card at the door. I don't mind trophies, I just don't think that their absence diminishes game. Back in a day we did no materia/initial equipment runs in FFVII without any side motivation.

This is so annoying. They should be able to patch this in later. Wish Sony would change that.

@Foxhound I'm gonna be pedantic here and state while the "trophy" is "exclusive" what they are and how you unlock them isn't. Started on the awesome 360 and Sony copied them.

While I myself quite like them and try for platinums or to get as many as possible on games I like I don't see the point of playing BECAUSE of them. Also I don't think it was you who said it but you don't get less of a game without trophy's lol. What kind of backwards logic is that?

Every single game on PS should have a platinum trophy, no matter the size of the game. Keep it all universal across the board.

I don't see why they can't just add one more trophy and call it Platinum Trophy.

It's nice to have the cherry on top and that icon on the game that says "you did all the stuff in it". I play games even without trophies but I love having them around as little mementos of times I've played things.

It also gives me a reason to continue playing something to completion even when I'm done with it. So while that's a double edged sword sometimes more than not it's made me get more out of a game than I would have otherwise.

I also have that niggling voice in the back of my head as an adult that's like, "you should be doing something meaningful not gaming" and I kinda use trophies as a bat back at that. Like I did do something. I enjoyed myself and I have proof.

No platinum will always turn away a section of potential buyers. However small, there will be some people that will not buy because of this, whether that's the sole reason or just the tipping point. There's nobody that is going to be put off because of a platinum and nobody will be more inclined to buy it because there isn't a platinum so what's the thought process behind it? You're restricting your potential audience for no reason.

To me, the lack of a platinum in any game nowadays starts alarm bells ringing, it suggests a lack of care and effort has been put into it, now it might not be the case but that's the impression I get

Imagine not playing or buying a game because it doesn't have a ***** of a digital trophy? Some people need to touch the grass.

No rush to play if anymore. I'll enjoy playing the original on duck station with retroachievements
