At this point, Atlus remaking the wonderful Persona 4 Golden seems like a matter of when, not if, following the success of Persona 3 Reload and the trail of digital breadcrumbs we've been following in recent months. Now, a new domain has been registered, and it seems history might be about to repeat itself.
Noticed by noted Persona fan and YouTuber, Faz, a new domain has just been registered, which could give us some semblance of a timeline (thanks, IGN). New websites are locked down every day, but in the case of "p4re.jp", we're daring to hope for something more.
According to Faz, some two years ago, "p3re. jp" was similarly registered, and three months later, we got the reveal of Persona 3 Reload. Set your stopwatches, folks; we certainly will be counting down the days. This begs the question, what does the "re" denote in this case?
Persona 4 Remake is the obvious, perhaps even as a working title, but then we did get Reload in the end. Perhaps Persona 4 Rebirth? We'd hope not, as that particular suffix belongs to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth at this stage. You heard it here first, and we want full credit if proven correct; considering the musical focus of Golden, we formally predict Persona 4 Retune, which sounds pretty good to our ear and actually works on a couple of levels.

Again this is an inevitability with Sega specifically saying Yakuza, Sonic and Persona being yearly release franchises. We already know what Sonic and Yakuza have this year. Makes sense that we will now get a persona title.
They Need To Remake Persona 1 And Persona 2.
@Areus That's too much effort and Atlus are lazy as heck now that they know people will eat up the P5 reskins.
So after P4 remake, are Atlus gonna remake P5 too or they finally recover from their amnesia that P1 and 2 also exist?

@PuppetMaster Persona 1 & 2 are almost certainly next after Persona 4.
I highly doubt they'd milk us for a third time with Persona 5.
As for when Persona 6 will happen, I'm thinking after 4 but before 1 & 2.
I love Persona 4, but there are no reasons to remake it. At all. It is perfectly playable today. (Unless PS5 is your first and only gaming device, but then there are big chances that PS2 jrpgs are not your gem)

Persona 4 Regolden
I played Persona 3 Reload and it was all right, looked at the original on YouTube and it was extremely simple, just modern (which is good I think). I platted Persona 4 Golden on Vita last year and it was excellent - would a remake have enough to convince me to play through the game a third time? I'm not sure.
But I'm glad it's coming out - I can recommend this to my friend that just started Persona 5 Royal and loves it!

Anyway, although P3 is my favourite of the series, P4 for sure has my favourite setting, and I don't know if any other game will top it. Absolutely love how personal and cosy Inaba feels 😊
Just replayed P4G on the PS5. Still as fantastic as I remember. If they do Remake it, please do not add the Rise 250 support lines trophy. Only reason I've not platinumed it on Vita or PS5!

Persona 1&2 remakes could happen but probably would take a lot more time

@SuperSilverback everybody hates that trophy lol. Apparently the trick is not to level up too much before you get her, or you'll miss out on a ton of lines commenting on how tough the fights are going to be.

Persona 4 Rewind.
This is great. Persona 4 is a fantastic game but with the success of Persona 3 Reload it's inevitable. They obviously will also make the game with Persona 5 art style to keep it consistent with 3 and 5.
I like Persona 3 Reload much more than vanilla Persona 3 so I welcome a Persona 4 Remake.
And Persona 1 and 2 needs to happen, but I don't know if they Remake faithfully or will Reimagine the game to give us Social links.

Persona 4 doesn’t need a remake it’s already perfect. A remake would mean a new soundtrack and new voice cast. No thanks I’ll stick with golden.

They better not make the golden portion into dlc like they did with p3 but then again, it's Atlus so they will.

Not interested. Tired of Atlus doing this, and frankly I stopped playing the persona 3 remake after they revealed the dlc, just absurdly high priced and deceptive communication. I loved the original games, remakes aren’t needed.
That being said, if there’s one mistake to avoid it’s recasting Johnny Yong Bosch as the English VO for Adachi. Doubt they’d do that, but that man is expensive nowadays and the character would not be the same without him.
I know people are tired of Atlus rehashes but this game would definitely benefit from the graphical overhaul, I am playing it right now and the characters all look like Miis. The movement in dungeons is pretty bad and the hitboxes are terrible. I would be really happy with a modernized version because it still plays like a PS2 game and we are three and a half gens ahead of that now

Dear Atlus, use a decent graphic engine, include all the content from the previous versions and give longtime fans a reason to play through this. So basically everything you didn’t achieve with P3R.
Persona 4 REcreate. Day 1 purchase.
Persona 1 and 2 would need to be build from the scratch as the gameplay is dated and got no social links and love partners.
I would love a P4 game up to P3R standards. I think this might be revealed in the summer. I also hope P6 gets revealed this year too!

so atlus is giving us a SECOND remake of p4? no thanks. you can keep it. great game and all, but i got my fill with the first release on ps2. besides, p4 is widely available on every modern platform already! fans really want to see a remake of persona 2...that is most in need of quality of life updates and some modern mechanics. when publishers consider what to remake, shouldn't they also look at factors such as age and accessibility when determining what game is most deserving or higher priority? atlus didn't even release the second part of persona 2 (eternal punishment) for the psp when those remasters came out aeons ago... it has since been fan translated, but the point still stands. sheesh.

I don’t think it needs a remake. It looks fine to me and plays well. I don’t know why people need hyper realistic graphics now a days. I could see updating the dungeons though, they were a bit bland.

@Areus Remake them to look like what though? They'd end up the same as P3, 4 and 5. No way they'd make them the dungeon crawlers they used to be.
