Ship-Based Extraction Shooter Wildgate Targeting PS5 in 2025

Wildgate is one of the more refreshing multiplayer shooters we've seen in recent memory, in which crews of players pilot starships in an attempt to secure the all-important Artifact, navigating a randomly generated star map each match, ensuring no two are ever the same. It's targeting a 2025 release date on PS5.

An extraction shooter in essence, Wildgate seemingly takes inspiration from Sea of Thieves. Players will need to work together to properly crew their ship, navigate, fire their weapons, or simply put out the inevitable fires.

You'll need to do the usual battle royale thing in gearing up in order to make a properly competitive go of it, as once you have the Artifact in hand, you'll need to escape through the titular Wildgate. Supporting 20 players, comprised of five four-person teams, it all looks like a hell of a lot of fun, and we'll be keeping an eye on this one as the year progresses.
