The game that arguably started it all, iconic Trophy hunting game My Name Is Mayo has returned this April Fool's Day in a PS5, PS4 remaster that's available now. My Name Is Mayo: Remayo costs just £1.69 / $1.99 and boasts of "revamped 4K graphics" and "50 Trophies including a Platinum!"
A Trophy guide has already been uploaded to YouTube, and exactly one minute and 52 seconds of gameplay footage is enough to reveal how you can unlock all 51 digital gongs. The remastered version's Trophy list appears to be mostly the same as the original, simply requiring you tap on a jar of mayonnaise hundreds of times.

"You will ReLive its story, ReUnpackage the emotional baggage, and (maybe) you will ReLearn from them while unlocking 50 coveted trophies," the PS Store description excitedly pitches. "This is the touching story about a Mayo Jar, ReMade! ReMayo!"
You could argue My Name Is Mayo was one of the originators that gave birth to the trend of ridiculously easy Platinum Trophies on PlayStation, which have since given way to copycat slop and insulting AI knockoffs. In the moment, though, My Name is Mayo was a revelation for Trophy enthusiasts. It spawned two sequels on PS5 and PS4, and now we're returning to the beginning this April Fool's Day.

And I literally just posted a question as to whether the liquidators had come into PS offices (due to the lack of posting). Still... I'll begrudgingly accept a Mayo-malaise day post.
Edit - and to short-circuit the potential hate... the liquidators comment was meant to be a poignant joke about how weird the industry is these days.

PS are probably trying to avoid publishing important articles / reviews etc until after 12 noon. It must get frustrating if in every comments section they are accused of an April Fool joke.
Sold.
I don't care if games solely built for the purpose of platinums exist, but there needs to be a special filterable tag for them. I've had to resort to a third party price tracking site where I've been individually hiding them for years just to clearly see actual games that are on sale. And a lot of the time the smaller indie gems get caught up in that, because it's difficult to tell at surface level.
People who buy this slop should feel really, really, ashamed.
I don't get it either, these so called 'trophy hunters', what the heck is the whole achievement in getting an incredibly easy platinum? Like, look at me, i spend 3 minutes doing this?
@savarunl meh... Let people enjoy themselves. If they don't harm anyone in the process, I don't see an issue with it.
Question: Have you ever been impressed by someone else's virtual trophy list?
Answer: No, of course not, because you are a rational human being. Some folks really are pathetic.
So this waste of time game has a platinum, but Croc remaster won't??? make it make sense please.
Hmm, I think I'll wait on the 8k remaster.
@Rich33 actually.. I kinda love the April Fool frivolity (and yes, I even tried it on my teenage daughter this morning... just for old times sake...let's just say she was "almost" fooled)...
Hope it has autopop trophies. Sure as hell wouldn't want to have to go through all the hard work again!
MNIM has a hell of a lot more work put into it than most of the "here's an almost free platinum" games you see on the store now. I played some absolute dreck just for the trophies back in the day, before AI-generation was a thing and the floodgates truly opened.
I love it, it perfectly shows how meaningless the throphies are for anyone else but your own sense of achievement.
@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare
I am horrified.... (and 'fooled' a member of my family this morning) oops lol.
But if you are trying to publish news, or worse, accidentally report someone else's April fool as potential news, I can imagine the comments sections might get 'rowdy'!
@Rich33 I think a lot of publications kinda don't know the line between fun April Fool's and just being trolls. The best ones are the obvious - but entirely plausible - jokes. As long at they don't actually amount to libel or downright stupidity. It takes some effort to craft a good one.
Why is this even a thing lol. It was bad enough with the original two games now we have this so-called "remaster". Anyone who has these platinum trophies on their profile should be embarrassed & should keep the games hidden from view! 🤦♀️
I remember the playstation access livestream for this game fingers was cramping
Can't wait for My Name Is Ketchup, My Name is Mustard, My Name is Relish, and My Name is BBQ Sauce
