You know an update's popular when the game's online functionality is brought to its knees.
Title Update 1 is now live for Monster Hunter Wilds, having dropped in the early hours of the morning. However, as the day's gone on and more of the western world has woken up, the RPG's servers have started to buckle.
At the time of writing, connection errors are everywhere — especially if you're teaming up with other players online. It's worth noting that you can play Monster Hunter Wilds offline, but you'll obviously be missing out on limited time quest progression and other network-based elements.
We're sure that Capcom will sort these server problems out soon enough, but things are only going to get busier following the publishing of this article, as Europeans get home from work / education, and the US starts getting out of bed. Let's just hope everything gets smoothed out in time for the weekend.

Dropping a major update on a Friday just seems like such a bad idea anyway. I guess the Japanese mentality just doesn’t care if all the programmers need to work over the weekend to fix stuff.

Pretty dang happy with TU1! The Arena and Zoh Shia bring back some challenge (AT ZS should be fun), the Hub makes it feel more like Monster Hunter, and the cutscenes continue to be well-written. I'm hopeful for AT Rey Dau — and looking forward to a fun couple of years across TUs and Master Rank
Sad it keeps crashing, don’t they test this updates beforehand ?
@Hobbesyall Connection errors do not crash the game. If you're playing multiplayer you can finish your quest offline
Damn hope it's all sorted by the time I get out of work. It was available yesterday night so I got to fight mizu and it was very fun. Love how aggressive it was. I keep hearing tempered mizu and zoh shia are decimating players and that makes me very hyped but also scared cause I have absolutely not worked on my builds whatsoever 😭
@Hobbesyall The issue isn't crashing its too many people logging on overloading the servers that boots you offline.
@VaultGuy415 Well even offline I can’t call the npc helpers !! But yes I meant kicks me out of the servers. It’s just weird because before the update the game servers were doing great
