Switch 2 Coughs Up for Timed Hades 2 Console Exclusivity, Coming to PS5 Later 1

Update []:

It seems like the rest of the games media only just caught onto this, so here’s a timely reminder in case you missed it: Hades 2 will be a timed console exclusive on Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Switch.

That means you’ll need to wait for the PS5 version, much like with the previous roguelike from Supergiant Games.

Writing on X, here’s what the studio said: “Hades 2 v1.0 will launch simultaneously on our Early Access platforms (Steam and Epic Games Store), Nintendo Switch 2, and the original Nintendo Switch.”

The question is: when will v1.0 arrive – and how long will the timed console exclusivity last?

Original Story: Hades 2, the roguelike sequel already available in Early Access on PC, will launch first as a console exclusive for the Nintendo Switch 2 and original Switch.

Press materials from the Mario maker confirm it’s got dibs on the Supergiant follow-up, which will supposedly take “advantage of the new system’s higher-definition display with responsive action at a target of 60 frames-per-second”.

The relationship makes sense we suppose, as the original Hades was a huge hit on Switch, and didn’t launch on PlayStation until much, much later on.

Nintendo has seemingly lined up a series of other timed exclusives for its new system’s launch, including the new Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut and the arcade port of Ridge Racer from Arcade Archives overseer Hamster.
