The recent Marvel’s Wolverine trailer showed off a montage of other levels right at the end, and I was quite taken with the city rooftop scene glimpsed for about one second.
It’s clear this will be one of the headline moments in the upcoming PS5 exclusive’s globe-trotting story, and now dev Insomniac has confirmed it takes place in Tokyo.
It hasn’t shared any more footage, but it captioned a GIF of the aforementioned scene on social media, and said: “Take the fight to Tokyo, one of the key story locations in Marvel’s Wolverine!”

We know that Logan will be travelling all around the world throughout the title’s single player story, and it’s quite exciting to learn one country he’ll be visiting is Japan.
While the clip largely focuses on the city skyline, potentially Shibuya, one interesting detail is the Roxxon building glimpsed just off in the horizon. Roxxon is obviously a noteworthy organisation from Marvel comic book lore.
I do like a good globe-trotting adventure; I was over-the-moon with 007 First Light recently, and while I know Marvel’s Wolverine is very much a different type of game, I’m particularly excited to paint more of the world red using Logan’s claws.
