Crimson Desert DLC Multiplayer

As Crimson Desert developer Pearl Abyss stated a couple of months back, a major DLC is currently in the works — and now we've got confirmation that it's targeting a release before the end of the year.

Said confirmation comes courtesy of the company's latest financial report. It says: "[the DLC is] scheduled for release this year while we refine its content direction and overall quality".

There's also mention of a full reveal in the very near future. It's supposed to be happening at some point in Q3 — so it should be just around the corner.

Interestingly, the report puts an emphasis on the broader potential of Crimson Desert. In particular, it claims "there is significant potential for expansion into multiplayer modes".

To be clear, this doesn't seem to be linked to the aforementioned DLC, but the studio's still putting a lot of effort into exploring what's possible with regards to multiplayer functionality.

And, naturally, the developer goes on to reassure its investors that Crimson Desert is not a "one-off" title. It has early plans to expand the property beyond a single release, which comes as no surprise given the open worlder's impressive commercial success.

Pearl Abyss describes the game as "a core flagship IP of our company designed for longterm growth and expansion".

I'm sure there's still plenty of scope to improve Crimson Desert with yet more updates, and it'll be very interesting to see what this mystery DLC entails. Pretty exciting times if you're already a fan of Kliff's big adventure.
