@Sorteddan It’s looking more like Monday after I get home from work I reckon… that’s fine though. As long as I get it done before my day off on Wednesday… as I like to start something new when I got a long session ahead.
Not a long or difficult platinum but it’s easy to miss a collectible or two, or miss one of the chapter specific trophies. Thankfully the chapter select makes mopping them up pretty straightforward.
@colonelkilgore unfortunately I didn’t have time for gaming yesterday but I did read somewhere that one of the tablets I’m looking for sometimes displays as “read” when in fact it hasn’t been interacted with, so I have a bit of hope. I’ll go through the locations a third time and re-interact with all of them in the hopes that I missed that one, hopefully tonight.

Just finished up Far Cry 5 for #99!! First game I've played in the series and I had a great time with it outside of the 20+ crashes lol. Gotta figure out what I wanna do for the big 100!!
Platinum no. 17 - Mafia: Definitive Edition. Gets very grindy towards the end but a seriously enjoyable game! Think this might be the first platinum I’ve gotten as part of Game Club actually 😂
@Thrillho I've been quite enjoying playing a bit of Plague Tale between other games but think I've missed loads of collectables. Did you find any of them take much effort to get e.g. having to sneak about on the guarded sections?
@render I was really thorough trying to find them but still missed a few as some are really sneaky (one was in the battlefield level and you have to push a cart in a completely different direction to find it) and some you can still easily miss.
I missed one right at the end of chapter 9 despite specifically checking the area. I still had to do that level again to get “the hard way” trophy. Also, once you get a collectible it’s registered as found so you can immediately quit the level.
There are plenty of good guides to help if that’s all you need. The ones for upgrading your kit can be cheesed as there is a glitch that lets you do it easily which still works.
@render Also, once you’ve done a level already, I found I could zoom through if I wasn’t scouting for materials or collectibles and I already knew what I was doing.
@Thrillho Cheers, I'll probably try and mop those up then once I'm done as it doesn't sound like it's going to be too much of a chore. I've been through the battlefield section and did think there's bound to be something in there that I'm walking straight past 😂
Platinum #55 - The Last of Us: Remastered - honestly one of the most satisfying platinum trophies I’ve had the pleasure to have earned. Obviously a great game but I really hadn’t fully appreciated how great it is back when I played it in 2014… now two play-throughs later, I finally see that ‘the emperor had clothes on all along’ 😉.
@render cheers buddy, I think it helped that I went straight into the Survivor+ run after my 100% Collectibles run, so that everything was fresh in the mind.
@render@Thrillho I’m also playing through A Plague Tale nice and slow, trying to avoid missing anything. I do believe that I’ve done pretty well so far and I guess I’ll find out at the end if I missed anything. I did get the one in the battlefield and the one at the end of chapter 9. I’ve found that it’s a good idea to kill all the guards if at all possible despite it being possible to easily sneak past without killing them since often there’s a collectible or at least some supplies that are tucked away close to them.
Still, the game is so sneaky at hiding the items and collectibles. There’s been many times that I might die at one of the set pieces and when I respawn back at the checkpoint and do the section again I notice some pick-up items that I walked right past on my first go. I honestly don’t know how I could have missed them and I swear the game placed them there after I passed by 😂.
My current struggle is finding some more blasted leather for my sling upgrades. The game gives you oodles of alcohol, crystals, and powder but is really miserly with the leather and cloth swatches. I’m starting to wonder if it’s even possible to platinum it on a single run without going back to mop up for supplies. I might have to look up the cheesing technique at the end it I don’t get all the upgrades.
The lack of supplies gives the game a hint of survival horror, as rationing your inventory is important, although not quite as difficult as TLoU or RE. It seems like there is always a way to get past a section without having to dip into the rare high powered weapons like the luminosa and the sleep-inducing one (I forget the name)
But man, I really like this game still. Because of Returnal I’ve neglected it, but when I jump back into it I grow to appreciate it again. Haven’t finished it yet but I’ve already got the sequel high on my list of anticipated games.
Edit: Have you guys played it on PS5? I’m really loving the DualSense features. It’s pretty subtle but it has nice things like a slight feeling when you brush up against some foliage or the pitter-patter of the rats when they are near. The R2 trigger has a cool mild resistance when sprinting that if you push down too hard you don’t feel, but if you press lightly then it pulsates with each step while Amicia runs.
@Th3solution I hadn’t upgraded everything in one run. There is a top level upgrade in one thing which means you no longer need the tool item when upgrading stuff but I generally found that was the least of my worries. I had no qualms with using the cheesing method to get the last trophies I needed.
The more specific trophies can be easily missed if you don’t know about them though. For instance, the one at the end of chapter 9 to go in through the main door rather than sneak in the side one I missed first time. “Luckily” I already needed to replay that level for the collectible anyway!
And I played on PS5. I found the vibrations a little weird as it didn’t always match what was going on but I did notice the shoulder button resistance though.
@Th3solution I'm trying to look for collectables and materials but I'm also realistic that I'm going to miss a ton just like I did with TLoU 1 and 2. Like you say it's amazing how thorough you think you are being only to find that you've missed a load.
I've also found the same in regards to the leather and cloth. Every time I rock up to a workbench I'm missing those items so can't do any upgrades. There must be loads out there surely but I'm just finding items that I've already got like sulphur etc.
As it's very similar in the way it plays to TLoU I'm really enjoying it as I do like having to use stealth and that feeling of anxiety that you get because you've only just got enough supplies. It's amazing how they've taken the same gameplay concepts and just swapped zombies for rats!! There's also not really many ways in which you can mess up in this game as it's constantly giving you hints about what to do so you quickly pick up what you should be looking for and doing.
I really enjoyed that section where you are both captured and you have to rescue Hugo from the cage and then escape the camp. I thought that was well done and very much gave you a few options for escape depending on which route you took. I ended up trying several as I always got impatient and ended up giving my position away. I did find one tent though where even though I'd been seen I could hide and the guards did eventually stop looking even though they must have seen which one I'd gone into.
I'm playing the PS5 version and the DualSense features aren't bad. They are very subtle compared to other games but they do add to the gameplay. I noticed the running one and also using the sling gives you a similar feedback. I've not been playing with headphones so don't know if there's any 3D audio?
Good job @colonelkilgore
Pretty much on schedule too!
Just wondering, do you only play the game you are currently focussing on completing or do you have a few on the go at once?
“We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.”
Thanks mate, so generally I just play the one game at a time. There are exceptions, for instance if some friends are gonna be doing some multiplayer on a game that has online trophies, I'll put what I'm playing on hold and join in. Once done I'll return to my current game and finish off the single player element attached to the mp game at another time.
Also, I recently bought some games, specifically to play 'on the side' (the Housemarque back catalogue, the SuperGiant back catalogue and Everybody's Golf). I started EG and was quite enjoying it but I just haven't had the time this last month as Watch Dogs and TLoU were a little more time consuming than I'd originally planned for.
How about you, are you a one game at a time kinda gamer, or have you constantly got a few different games on the go,
