Platinum - 56 - Just Cause 3 - just some of the most fun I’ve had gaming for a while… and I reckon must be pretty much the perfect palette-cleanser sandwiched between The Last of Us: Remastered and The Last of Us part 2. Little bit of trouble getting the Chaos Millionaire trophy to pop but it seems to be a pretty common problem. Ultimately I had to go 15,000 chaos points over the 1000,000 target but it eventually popped. I have a feeling that it only registers points earned while logged into the ‘temperamental’ Square Enix servers… so if you get logged out at all (which happens a lot) quickly log back in if you aim to earn this.

And @Thrillho @RogerRoger getting five gears on all those challenges (particularly the wingsuit variety) was a genuine challenge (some of the plane and land races similarly). They were a great diversion from the main gameplay loop though and really (REALLY) got the adrenaline flowing when you could ‘feel’ you were in a perfect run.

Underrated gem of the PS4 generation for me!

@colonelkilgore I have Just Cause 3 and Just Cause 4 in my library through PS Plus. I’ve never played a JC game. Is JC3 a decent place to jump into the series? I know JC4 seemed to be the lesser of the the two in terms of quality, but I wonder if it would really resonate with me. I don’t have it on my list to play, but your praise has be second guessing that.

@Th3solution yeah Just Cause 3 would be a fine place to start the series buddy as the story is of minimal importance. I’m yet to play Just Cause 4 but as you’ve mentioned JC3 is considered the better game (I’ve played the first two and it’s definitely better than those… though I loved JC2) too.

I’m gonna post a review of Just Cause 3 relatively soon, so definitely have a read of that if you want to properly set your expectations… and if you’re still interested after I’ve gone into the various gameplay mechanics and loops etc. I’d wholeheartedly recommend it.

@Th3solution JC3 was the first game in the series I played after it was a freebie. Plot is not exactly the game’s strong point so don’t worry about that!

@colonelkilgore sounds good. I’ll look forward to that review.

Part of me wants to not be interested in the game because I have a load of backlog yet to play 😅. But actually, I think the series also genre is something new for me to try and new types of games is something that I like to throw in the mix, which new types of things I’ve not yet experienced are hard to come by at this point in my gaming life.

@Th3solution Just Cause 2 is the high point of the series imo. 3 is a decent game but didn’t grab me the same way.

@Thrillho cheers bud, it was tough going to be honest but I'll miss playing it for sure.

@nessisonett I do know what you mean, Panau was such an awesome setting and Baby Panay a great antagonist but while those things (& the main missions) were better than those of Just Cause 3 the wingsuit in particular, the tether versatility and also the various challenges available 'just' swing it for me.

@colonelkilgore Yeah, the wingsuit was a really great addition but I didn’t find that the environments were as interesting and didn’t really give you as many opportunities to create your own fun. 3 felt slightly ‘checklisty’ at times.

@nessisonett I get you, I don’t have that ‘check-list’ aversion that afflicts most people though… hence the amount of Ubisoft games I own 😉.

@colonelkilgore Yeah, I say stuff about checklists despite having completed 11 Assassin’s Creed games since last September including 4 platinums 😂

Just popped #100!!!! Went with Borderlands 3 since BL1 was actually my first Plat and BL2 was number 50 lol. Funny how it worked out like that, on to the next milestone!

@JechtUltima it takes all sorts bud… I’d imagine there are a few things you love which don’t click with me too. It would be a real boring place if everyone had the same likes and dislikes.

@redd214 congrats on 100 dude.

@JechtUltima even I am intimidated by the apparent bloat of Valhalla 😅. Think I'm gonna need a good 2 or 3 weeks where I have absolutely nothing planned for that one.

For platinum #31 I joined the A Plague Tale: Innocence platinum club.
Great game, enjoyable and relatively easy platinum. Excited for the sequel.

@kevilc so to my knowledge the original is fine (I popped it in a couple of days with no dramas) but it is 2 and particularly 3 that have buggy trophies. From what I gather 3 is probably the most buggy trophy list on PS4 period.

Platinum #57 - Undertale - super easy and quick platinum trophy this one. Only started it as The Division 2 servers were down and got through it in one sitting. Not my kinda thing if I’m honest but was… ‘different’.

Platinum No. 17 and 4000th trophy - Death... nope its for The Pathless. Straight forward enough, with only a few for collectables, which you should get just by playing the game naturally as you don't have collect/read everything contained in the game.

Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
