@colonelkilgore Thanks ! And I found Vice City way worse than GTA 3 in terms of bugs. I even had some glitched trophies. But yeah, if you enjoyed them in the past, it's great to play them again.
@colonelkilgore Yep, for example the trophy in the Demolition Man mission, where you have to kill every enemy in the building with the RC chopper's blades. It wasn't unlocking for me, and after looking into it I found that I needed to keep killing random workers in the street for it to unlock.
I'm currently sitting on 35 platinums and I must say my proudest ones are GTA V because it took forever and Witcher III because it's the most difficult one I've got, mainly due to the Deathmarch trophy and Gwent collection. My newest platinum is Horizon Forbidden West which IMO was way too easy. Unlocked almost all of the trophies through natural play and the ones I had to look up could be easily done in a couple of minutes.
@Thenewguy Nice work on that Horizon platinum. We had the discussion a few days ago about it being fairly straight forward / easy to achieve. In some respects it would have been nice if they'd have asked for more but perhaps they will add those as an additional trophy list with NG+.
Hey @Thenewguy, welcome to the site… and welcome to the Trophy thread in particular. Yeah, those two are a couple of what I would consider well-earned platinums to be sure… so congrats on them. I do plan on going back to The Witcher 3 one day to finish off that plat myself.
Personally I like to alternate things in an effort to keep things fresh… so I tend to playthrough what I would consider a well-earned platinum followed by something a little more easy-breezy (normally an indie). Having said that, a little known indie title called Ashen would probably have to be what I would consider my most difficult platinum. It’s a souls-like (and I’ve plat’d all the From Soft souls games) and it just kicked my ***. You unlock a difficulty called ‘Children of Sissna’ after your first playthrough and the subsequent playthrough on this new difficulty is the most brutal gaming experience that I’ve ever had.
I also plat’d all the Metal Gear Solid games last year… 4 and particularly 2 were very tough.
I purchased Tesla Force from the current indies sale which gave me both PS4 and PS5 versions, was intending to play on PS5 initially but noticed no platinum trophy, so did a bit of digging and found out that only PS4 version has platinum, despite having all of the same trophies (albeit some have been changed from silver to gold etc). I will probably end up completing (hopefully) both versions anyhow but find that a bit strange, have any other games done this? And why would they do this?? Is it to stop me getting two plats from one game, or trying to force me to keep gaming on PS4..
@Sorteddan That's bizarre, especially for one to have it and not the other. I recently bought The Pedestrian in the sale and noticed that neither the PS4 or PS5 versions have a platinum trophy so at least that is consistent. One reason I saw for a game not to have one was that it had to have a physical release but I don't think that's really true any more as there are a lot of really short indie games that have them just to make them desirable.
@render Yeah. Horizon Forbidden West was way too easy but I'm pretty sure they will add more challenging trophies in future DLC's along with a new game + mode.
@colonelkilgore Never heard of Ashen but good for you. Sounds painful and rewarding. Lol. Personally I only plat the games if I really like them. The second it starts feeling like work I usually lost interest. Speaking of Metal Gear Solid I platted Phantom Pain a couple years back. Fun game but a bit repetetive for some of the trophies.
Platinum #79 - We Were Here - me and my mate really quite enjoyed Operation Tango the last couple of weeks so we had a look for anything similar. This wasn’t as good (and was a lot easier if I’m honest) but fit the bill quite nicely.
@colonelkilgore Good job ! Regarding coop games, I'm currently playing It Takes Two with a friend, it's absolutely INCREDIBLE, you should definitely try it if you haven't already.
#324 Ghostrunner - A very nice surprise here, I really enjoyed it. It's short, fast-paced and the gameplay is really technical. It's hard but checkpoints are forgiving. I recommend it.
@Cornaboyzzz congrats on Ghostrunner dude sounds awesome. I’ve had it in the backlog for about a year… will have to make some time for it for sure.
As for It Takes Two I totally agree mate, it’s great. I’ve been playing through it with the missus. She isn’t really a gamer but we’ve really enjoyed it… think we just have the last chapter left.
And that’s the Elden Ring platinum! Fantastic set, really encourages you to explore the world and see all you can. I only had to look up the one wee thing, which was a weapon I actually missed being available due to advancing the story too soon. Quickly started Journey 2, killed the Tree Sentinel without getting hit for a laugh and then went up to Bernahl’s shack and murdered him for his weapon! 55 hours, 22 seconds and level 150. Not bad!
@nessisonett Congrats! The PC version has Steam achievements, but those don't have the same draw to them as Playstation trophies for me. Do you have to complete multiple endings to get the platinum?
