One of the very best roguelites out there, even if the last trophy took me absolutely ages. Really need Isaac on PS5 solely for trophy support now I think about it.
Now that's what I call a platinum @nessisonett
Well done friend! One of my favourite games of recent years but not for everyone (two people I convinced to buy it really didn't get on with it). Are you going for all DLC trophies as well, I think I gave up with the Bullets true last ending and never went back.
And congrats to all the recent platinum poppers out there that I've neglected to notice.
Any positive feelings I have about the stuff this game does right (space exploration and the little planets were a nice touch) were completely undermined by the way the game handles Clank sections. I hated them with a passion. Completely destroys the pacing of the game, bland time-consuming puzzles and also it just makes the platforming harder and slower as Ratchet until you get the admittedly fun hoverboots. The games just continue to get streamlined and forced down the stupid ‘cinematic shooter’ route though, the tight platforming is completely stripped by now, with no wall jumping or crouching at all. The trophy list was straight forward, 100% on hard then a challenge mode playthrough. Challenge mode was incredibly boring, there’s no trophy for maxing out weapons so just a bland run through of the game which makes you think even less of it. I can’t stress enough how much the game has been smoothed out to create a pale imitation of the PS2 games, it’s insane. The most exciting part of the game was beating the final boss on challenge mode while listening to Atari Teenage Riot, which at least livened things up a bit. And apparently the next few games are worse!!!
@Bentleyma Oh, cheers! Didn't know that, so will take a look!
Congratulations on the Spidey platinum, by the way. Same to @Splat and double to @nessisonett for bravely battling through what unfortunately became a disappointing slog.
I'm honestly impressed by @LtSarge and @nessisonett's dedication to keep playing games to 100% whilst also just... not having a good time? What possesses you people to torture yourself so, haha?!
@Tjuz In this case, it was mostly because I just had a couple of trophies left and it just bugged me that the last one was so simple but because I got 100 percent in the game, I couldn't perform the actions that were required to get that trophy.
You're right though. I don't have much time for gaming that I really should use my time more wisely. But seeing as how this was a new release, I wanted to get my money's worth so to speak. Fortunately, the next Platinum trophy that I'm going for, which is Spider-Man 2's, has been simple enough thus far.
@RogerRoger I thought A Crack in Time was fantastic when I played it back in the day. Maybe I wouldn't feel the same 14 years later, but I know back then it was great. The remake of the original on the PS4 on the other hand, not so much.

@RogerRoger I think I'm more in the minority in regards to the PS4 remake. Obviously it's a lot easier to play than the actual PS2 original as it incorporates the gameplay advancements that the series experienced, but the latter part of the remake frustrated me enough that it at least partially ruined the experience for me. Granted I'd take middling Ratchet & Clank still over a lot of other games, and I'm not saying you won't enjoy it a lot more than I did, as obviously mileage varies.
I still have a lot of the series left to play as I haven't played anything outside of the PS3 games and so on (I dabbled in the PS3 remaster of the original), but I do suggest playing Rift Apart whenever you feel the price is right. It was good enough that I really hope Sony doesn't make it a routine now where we only get one Ratchet & Clank game per generation (the remake was it last gen).

@LtSarge The first Spidey is also the only game I've gotten the platinum on (minus the cheating Telltale games), so if the sequel is anything like that I'm sure it was a breeze! Especially compared to what came before, haha. A nice reward for your previous suffering. Hope next time you might be able to break loose from the completionist urge when the game is not deserving of it.
