Meatspace Interactive’s Vendetta Forever is a brilliant puzzle shooter for PSVR2. Across a hearty supply of levels –many of them goofy or fun in tone – you’re tasked with killing a collection of faceless grunts all wielding an impressive array of weapons. But here’s the catch: you can only move by killing an enemy and teleporting to their weapon, thereby replacing one of your own. It breathes an impressive amount of strategy into the experience.
The gunplay is fluid and responsive, although tracking does lose your location occasionally. Luckily, it rarely ruins a run. And if it does, the levels are designed to be bite-sized. Most run about 30 seconds, encouraging repeats until you craft a flawless run.
The combat is unbelievably satisfying. Guns feel great to fire, both in trigger tension and audio design, and throwable melee weapons moreso. There’s nothing better than fanning out three kunai and bulls-eyeing three enemies in the forehead simultaneously. It’s the closest emulation of a John Wick film we’ve encountered to date, and it’s incredible.
Weapon variety is impressive, with heaps of handguns, numerous throwables, and heftier fare like assault rifles or shotguns. The variety is such that you’ll likely use about six or seven different weapons even on the simplest levels. And once you get into a flow state? Forget it. The speed and precision with which you can navigate your environment is peerless. The only issue is that tracking ammo can be tricky in the heat of the moment.
Make sure you bring a change of clothes, as you are going to sweat. The game is quite the workout. And be careful of keeping anything within arm’s reach, as the game will frequently have you operating within a full 360-degree circle.
Vendetta Forever ends up having a highly replayable gameplay loop with slick combat and incredible variety. This is one of the best titles to hit PSVR2 this year without question.

Wow a 9. Would like to try this. Hopefully it won't trigger my motion sickness. 😀😀
Brilliant, will definitely pick this up and will possibly be my first PSVR2 title on my Pro!!
I've been keeping an eye on this and am glad it lives up to the hype.
Now I just need to decide whether to get it on PSVR2 or Quest 3.
I love the idea of this game, but Pistol Whip absolutely kills me! I’m a sweating wreck after playing that for 10 or so mins, so if this is anything like that I will struggle… or maybe I’m just horrendously unfit 😄
Love your PSVR2 reviews, keep them coming! VR games usually feel too overpriced for me, but $25 for a 9/10 seems fair to me. I've been hoping Superhot VR would come to the VR2 but this looks like it could help fill that gap
Picked a psvr2 up the last couple of months when it went down to £350 and honestly evey time I stick it on it blows my mind. This along with Metro, Alien Rogue Incursion and Behemoth are still to look forward to and that's on top of 7 or 8 great older games to get through. Couldn't imagine not having a VR headset going forward now.
I almost never preorder games, but for some reason, I preordered this one! Looking forward to giving it a try
I’d prefer to sit and relax while playing.
Wow. Great score.I didn't even know anything about this game coming out.
This was my personal highlight of that VR Showcase. I'm glad the gameplay lives up to the visual style.
Yeah, this looked amazing at the reveal, I can’t wait to play it. Both my PSVR2 and Quest 3 are getting a lot of use at the moment, some great games on the horizon too.
Arkham Shadow has my attention for days if not weeks. This will follow.
I know it's quite off topic, but, does anyone else think that Batman Arkham Shadow should be GOTY?
Not just VR. But actually the best game this year.
@__jamiie Once it makes it to Steam I wanna try it! Gonna hafta use the PSVR2 adapter (like I'm doing for Half-Life: Alyx). Not ideal, but that way I'll be able to play it at least.
@Wizpig17 it definitely gave me Superhot vibes at a couple of spots, so I'd imagine this could definitely scratch the itch!
@EverydayRobot I'm so unbelievably excited for Metro and Alien! Two of my favorite properties out there!
@NieR_Dark With the way the motion works on this one (every direction) I would say this tired me out even QUICKER than Pistol Whip haha. It's a satisfying exhaustion though! (For Pistol Whip too!)
@Dobbos How susceptible are you? Because this game is gonna have your head on a swivel! I'd imagine it could be super disorienting in the wrong situation!
@gbanas92 Oh jeez! Haha! It’s the ducking (and the whole bullet dodging thing) that gets me in Pistol Whip. But like you say, it does feel like you’ve actually done some good for yourself after you’ve finished a session. I want to support it so I’ll probably take the plunge 😀
@gbanas92 I am extremely susceptible . I can play beat saber with zero problems almost all other games give me motion sickness to varying degrees. First person ga.es even on flat screens are a problem. I have no regrets about buying PSVR2 as I think it's truly amazing and I really enjoy what games I can play.
Thanks for the heads up on this game I will give it a miss.
@Dobbos sadly, I think you're right that you should skip this one quite a lot of frantic movement involved for sure!
@NieR_Dark the ducking and freaking out when bullets are flying at you will very much still be present haha. Just add spinning In a full circle to the mix too!
Personally I love the exercise aspect of VR. I use Beat Saber in the winter as an exercise when it's too cold to go walking! It makes exercise fun and healthy at the same time!
I'd sue sony if I had more than enough money for almost abandoning PSVR2 platform. The PC adapter is not enough. The number of games released after I purchased the PSVR2 that I would be interested in is ridiculous almost none of them use the full psvr2 potential. Many of them are just gamelets. Shame on Sony.
