I'm excited for the Switch 2 and its price announcement. Sony should have to work to try and enter the handheld market again, unlike how they are doing whatever they want without competition in the home console space.

But honestly, who is paying $60 for a Lego game?

The price, though. I can't imagine how much this thing would cost.

I'm playing through P3:R now, and it's a crime that it was completely snubbed. At the very least, it should have been nominated for art direction.

The real snub this year is Unicorn Overlord.

This is really impressive. I couldn't remember if GoW: Ragnorok won or not. Thank goodness it didn't.

Games that will be nominated for GOTY:

Games that should actually be nominated and win:

• Astro Bot
• Unicorn Overlord
• Balatro
• Metaphor

I think he's saying this before he gives FF7 GOTY instead of Astro Bot.

At this point, no. I got my PS5 3 years ago and I just cannot recommend it. I have completely stopped buying my games on PlayStation and exclusively purchase games on PC and Switch. Every games that Sony makes goes to PC now, the price has gone up instead of down, and the the lack of portability is the nail in the coffin for me. I just use my PS5 to play my PS4 games when I do turn it on, but the PS5 will be my last Sony console.

If at first you don't succeed, fail again.

I can't wait to play this on the Switch 2.

I really enjoyed Spider-Man 2018, but I couldn't bring myself to pick this game up. It all just looked the same to me. I find myself playing more indie games that try something new and experimental rather than AAA games that all start to feel the same.

Remember when PlayStation put out that cheeky YouTube video tutorial on how to share your games with friends? Oh how the times have changed.

@Deoxyr1bose 1000% agree with you. The PS5 is my last Sony console. At this point, if you have a PC of any kind and Nintendo's next console, you'll be able to play pretty much every game under the sun.

@HotGoomba I'd use a lot of words to describe God of War, but intelligent isn't one of them. Lonely, emotionally shut off dad verbally abusing his son in the process of learning to show affection while chopping monsters in half isn't what I would call intelligent. Right, but I refuse to spend $850 to play a last-gen game. Especially when I already played it on the PS4, and it looked great four years ago.

No matter how big this game is, it's going to basically be impossible to meet expectations. This is Avatar. Arguably the greatest TV show of all time with some of the biggest and most devoted fans. The TV show set the bar WAAAAAAAAY too high. Hahaha!

At what point does the "innovation" amount to AAA games even releasing?

@Ralizah I'm sure there are loads of reasons, but I think it comes down to the astronomical cost of a photorealistic game. I think it's kind of insane how Sony wants people to buy a $850 console to play games they release maybe once every year, and 5-8 years per development studio. It's a financial model that is just aching to implode on itself.

I mean, I would review bomb this game for its awful pacing and repetitive gameplay, but that's just me.

At this rate, no one is going to need a PS6 because the only games that will be release on it are PS5 game remasters... which are just PS4 games.

@GamingFan4Lyf Which is hilarious to me. Sony is acting like they're at the top when they're not. Sony isn't the most profitable company in Japan, Nintendo is. Sony is acting like they aren't competing with Nintendo, but I hope the Switch 2 makes Sony feel the squeeze.
