I don't get the furor at all... weird. To me the biggest controversy with Larian flew under the radar completely.
Larian's biggest change in Baldur’s Gate 3 wasn’t gameplay, it’s the vibe. Older games like BG1, BG2, and Planescape: Torment treated “Good” as stepping up when something is clearly wrong and being willing to pay a price to fix it. BG3 flips that logic. It treats trying to fix people or behavior as the real mistake. Being “Good” mostly means not judging and not pushing. The game rewards emotional validation, not real change, even when that means leaving obviously broken situations exactly as they are.
Compared to that mega-inversion of Alignment, I think playing around with AI is nothing.
Feels like every single Sammy article on here is a passive-aggressive dig at Sony. Everything they do is terrible. Strangely enough, I’m having an awesome time with my PS5 and the console is destroying the Series X in sales. But reading through Push Square’s current coverage, you’d think the PS5 is doing worse than the Jaguar 64.
