Looks like an ideal title for small children and casual gamers.
I can't remember the last Lego game that I've played (think it was Lego Harry Potter on the PS3), but they all suffer from simplistic game design and gameplay.
Again, I think these games are meant for young children, so I'm definitely not the target audience for it.
I'm not sure what the copyright laws are when it comes to a piece of media, such as games, which is made up of elements that themselves are copyrightable.
Maybe the game is the only copyrightable element overall, and everything making up the game falls under the same broad copyright given to a game?
Nice to find a comrade with a useless degree (mine's Law), hope things work out for you in the future.
I'm guessing you're relatively young (under 30) so time is on your side.
In my current studies, I was doing coding as my Elective Track, but I grew to hate it as my studies progressed. I dropped it quick last year and switched to something else (Accounting).
It cost me another year in the joint, but it's a sacrifice that will probably pay off.
You make a valid point, but these AI generated content have (or will) appeared within media that are copyright protected themselves.
Also, unless you're part of the development team or have insider-knowledge, it might be very difficult for a consumer to distinguish between content created organically (for the lack of a better word) from AI generated content.
I'm out of the loop with this game (with most games in general to be honest), why is there hate against the actress that played Yennefer in Netflix's Witcher "adaptation"?
I grew up reading the books, enjoyed the films so I consider myself a Pothead.
Hogwarts Legacy is a decent game...decent, not fantastic or excellent in my opinion.
The developers have built a great foundation with the game, and for a first attempt at this type of game for the IP, it's great.
I would never place it on the same level as something like Skyrim or The Witcher 3.
It was my first PS5 game, and the first 10 hours or so are really amazing. After that point though, I experienced a huge drop-off in enjoyment (the story is uninteresting, most of the side-quests are boring and there are no real consequences for your actions).
I stopped playing it around the 3rd Keeper Trial, and honestly, I don't think I'll get back to it.
This DLC will have be to on the level of The Witcher 3's Blood and Wine DLC for me to even have any interest in it.
They're normally nickeling-and-diming us Persona fans, but to get Microsoft/XBox to cough up and pay for exclusive marketing rights (which is kind of sad really, regardless if it's Sony or Microsoft, when you think about it) for multi-platform titles that will end up selling far higher numbers on PlayStation (and Switch) is a stroke of genius.
Just to clear up any confusion (reading the posts from @BrettAwesome), AC Origins was set in Africa, but I think Egypt, although geographically part of Africa, is mostly considered part of the Middle East.
Also, the main protagonist of AC Origins, Bayek , is not ethnically African/black but rather ancient Egyptian, who I think are classified as a Semetic group.
Sorry for being that guy, but as someone from Africa who isn't ethnically African myself, it's disingenuous to say AC Origins had an African/black protagonist
I already felt that the PS5 was overpriced (especially where I live), so there's absolutely no way in hell that I'm even considering getting the PS5 Pro.
This is an even worse take than Sammy Barker's likening of Astro's Playroom to being a subtle form of GaaS/Live Service (just kidding Sammy, although we'll never let you forget it)
PushSquare, for your User Score Rating for your Reviews, it would be nice if you could add an option like NA - I haven't played it for those of us that haven't played the game under review.
It could give you data on the proportion of Users that read your Reviews but are assumed to have not purchased/played the game under Review.
PushSquare could maybe get someone from Traxion.GG to contribute to content (reviews etc) for racing/driving titles as Traxion is purely focused on this genre.
Instead of shelving DriveClub, Sony should have used the IP to create their own competitor to Forza Horizon. DriveClub 2 could have been an open-world simcade racing game, set in some exotic locale.
DriveClub and Gran Turismo, as IPs, are perfectly capable of co-existing together.
I really feel for Evolution Studios. For some odd reason, Sony seemed to place so much hype on DriveClub around the PS4's release, and when DC was released, I think it didn't meet those (unrealistic) lofty expectations held by Sony.
This initially looked promising, but the technical issues (which will hopefully be patched in the future) and the always-online aspect of the game has dampened my interest in TDUSC.
It's been nearly 10 years since DriveClub was released, and its gameplay and graphics (especially the rain and wet weather effects) have aged like a fine wine.
It's kind of sad that a major publisher like Sega has to partner up with another company to offer a physical release of a game that they're publishing (and developing).
Great article. It's a great reminder for me to get back into Cat Quest 2 and either continue from where I was or restart the game (it's been 3 years since I put it down).
Looking to forward to the third game in the series!
Imagine telling gamers 15 years ago that we'd be tuning into a Microsoft gaming showcase to see what Microsoft backed/developed/published games will be announced for PlayStation...

Re: Netflix's Recent AAA Studio Closure Part of Planned AI Pivot
Netflix, another junkie chasing that elusive (and purely fictional) AI-dominant game development dragon.
I'm quite sure, in the near future, some games will feature some sort of label saying Made by Humans or something to that effect.
I'm not against AI when it comes to game development, but it should be used as a supplementary tool for repetitive and/or monotonous tasks.
AI shouldn't be leveraged to replace actual developers to create games.

I still have my original CD (and the jewel case) of the game on PC...all the way back from 2000.
I thought about playing it on my current laptop...until I realised my laptop doesn't have a disc-drive.
I have fond memories of the game, and hope it plays really well on console.

Re: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Showcases the Problem with Sony's Games on PS5 Pro
Speaking of the PS5 Pro, it's just been announced in my territory, and pre-orders go live in about a month's time.
It will cost gamers here around £850 or $1 104 to get the PS5 Pro, without factoring in the cost of getting the Disc-Drive add-on as well.

My first ever console was the Sega Master System, with Alex Kidd as the pack-in game. Due to this, I'll always have a soft spot for Sega.

I'll pass on the PS5 Pro.
I felt like I was missing out last generation when the PS4 Pro was released whilst I had a PS4, so I got a PS4 Pro 2 years after release.
This time around, there's no FOMO and I'm more than happy with my PS5 (which I'm lucky to have to be honest, considering my circumstances).
