@freddquadros I never played the original Blood Omen, it’s the only game in the series I haven’t played. I’m so excited I can finally give it a try! For all of its flaws I loved 2.
@Loamy my mistake, that’s what I get for skimming the article. I don’t know if that makes it better or worse, for me. On the one hand, it’s not Randy insulting his own child, but on the other it’s the CEO of Take-Two not caring about one of their biggest IPs. I suppose it would have been worse coming from Randy, but it’s still not great, in my opinion.
Zelnick saying it didn’t hurt just shows how little Takes-Two respects their own IP. If someone took an IP of mine, even if it was me, and butchered it the way this was and then it bombing the way it did, I would be devastated and would need to reevaluate the way I utilize the IP. Respect the IP and respect the fans that made the IP become the hit it was.
Astro is undoubtedly my GotY. As much as I’m loving Metaphor, Astro is the most fun I’ve had with a game in a very long time. There’s so much charm, the gameplay is great, the music really hits, and it’s the first game I’ve gone out of my way to platinum, because I enjoyed it that much.
I should be able to get a good amount of time in with Metaphor tomorrow, my wife is taking the kids to watch football at my in laws and I’m staying home. I also played some Skyrim on Steam Deck but am debating setting that to the side for now for Persona 5 Royal because I bought it for $23 on Steam. I’ve played P5 but never beat it.
@AfroMario this is the second time today Butt Ugly Martians has come up for me, I was listening to The Snark Tank Podcast and Chris mentioned it on there. So obscure.
I finally got to sit down and sink a few hours into Metaphor, that game is fantastic. I also fired up the new CoD on Game Pass, I played the first mission, enjoyed it, then immediately went back to Metaphor.
I finally got to sit down and play Metaphor Refantazio, I’m only an hour in but this game seems like it’ll live up to the hype. I’m also playing Echoes of Wisdom, nearly done with that.
@Ninerguy1608 I was mocking the people that ACTUALLY do that, so I suppose common sense, which isn’t very common prevailed, because I didn’t vote. Sarcasm apparently didn’t transfer well through text…
@Blofse that one took me the longest aside from the Master Level. Throw the duck at the frog at the end of the first area. Then, make sure as soon as you grab the next duck jump forward and just go as quick as you can. I find the beginning to be the hardest part of the mission.
Not that I’ve played this yet, but I can’t help but to laugh at the trolls that always vote for a 1, looks alone would give this a higher score than that. Silly people.
@LifeGirl I wish I could say, “I’m defense of Concord DBZ is a well known and loved IP,” but even Metaphor sold 1 million in a day. Sorry Concord, I’ve got nothing.
Very likely nothing for me, we are in Maine for one last weekend before they close the cottage. I brought my Steam Deck so if I can’t sleep I’ll jump into Skyrim. Otherwise, I’ll dream of Metaphor.
I’m put off by the fact that it’s 80-100 hours, I know myself enough to know I likely won’t finish it, but I’m loving the demo and am so tempted to grab it. This is a selling point for me, while I completely understand the mechanic, that’s one of my least favorite features of Persona games.
Some Skyrim on the Steam Deck, trying to get myself back into FFVII Rebirth so I can actually finish it, but Zelda Echoes of Wisdom is taking up the majority of my game time.
My wife took the kids for a sleepover at my sister in law’s house, so I’ve been taking some relaxation time for myself and doing some heavy gaming. Mostly I’ve been playing Zelda Echoes of Wisdom, I expected to enjoy it, I didn’t expect to love it as much as I do. I don’t think it’ll beat out Astro as my GotY, but it’ll be a close second. I also jumped into a few rounds of Space Marine 2 with a couple of friends, my very rare multiplayer gaming time. I’m almost exclusive a single player kind of guy, but every now and then the right game comes along.
More Astro, Soul Reaver, and Lunar! Lunar was such an incredible surprise. With that said, this was a great SoP for me, there was so much I’m interested in.
I still need to finish this, but it’s absolutely fantastic. I was so put off by the gameplay videos, but listening to Micah on Summon Sign sold me to try the demo. I immediately fell in love with the game.
Let this be a message to other developers, sometimes we just want a straight forward, well paced, shorter game that’s just a blast to play. Not every game needs to be massive, open world, super deep in story (that’s coming from someone who went to college for creative writing), or 30+ hour experience.
@windxtravelerx if you can deal with those you’re good for this. The framerate dips here and there but it never bothers me. I did notice the blur on the camera turn can be a bit jarring but even that isn’t constant.
I got the platinum for Astro Bot yesterday! A true sign of how much I loved it, because that’s only my second platinum, I don’t go out of my way for them. After that I started up Space Marine 2, the best modern 360/PS3 game out there. I’ve also been playing Skyrim on Steam Deck on the side.
I’m still loving every second of Astro Bot. I also I also started the original Space Marine game, on Steam Deck, since Steam finally had it at a good price.
In the many hours my family and I have put into this game, I’ve encountered one bug. My son got stuck on a swinging pad with the crocodile gloves, so we had to restart. Other than that it’s been flawless for us. Further proof that not every game needs to be a massive GoW budget/style game.
I finally got the original at a good price on Steam today, so after Visions of Mana I’ll throw that on my Steam Deck to go through it. I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about 2.
There’s plenty of amazing games on PS5, but my favorite was always Astro’s Playroom. It’s rare that we get a lighthearted, genuine, and fun game like this these days. Not to mention, we don’t get nearly as many platformers, especially not ones that I can say are GotY contenders. This game has replaced Playroom for me, I’m having such an amazing time with this game. It’s like NES/Sega days combined with 360/PS2 days but with a modern twist.

I loved Blood Omen 2, I’m aware it’s not a great game, but I played the hell out of it on original Xbox.
Re: You'll Never See This Potential TV Mass Effect Commander Shepard Pick Coming
If Cena plays Shepard I’m out. I’m really not a fan of his at all. I can deal with him playing Wrex or another side character, but not Shep!
