@LavenderShroud I don't have the fastest of internet speeds, but I have no issues at all streaming to the PS5. I often start up a game from ps plus via streaming first to see if it's worth playing before I download it and commit the storage.
I'm sorry if you don't have the same experience..

@danzoEX You could say the same for almost any legacy game that's received a patch, yet these teams have made them. Half a dozen Devs required for a few days at most to get a basic patch in place. The development tools make it very easy implement quick wins.
That's why I think it's a strange decision. You are entitled to think otherwise, but it certainly doesn't invalidate my view.

Strange decision. However, I haven't enjoyed this game in the four attempts I've made at playing it (PC and PS5), and I've not really been able to put my finger on why.
I would have been much happier with a Witcher 3 patch 😁

@awp69 Couldn't agree more, the cops made me stop playing after 20 plus hours. It's just no fun when they are that aggressive..

This looks fantastic, but I normally don't get pre release games so I'm a little torn. I think I'm likely to wait till all the little bugs have been ironed out..

Given the multiple media's involved, this would make a good fit for Sony's portfolio...

I'm rarely unhappy. Some good titles here that I will play if I ever clear my backlog, and a chance to play Resistance again is the icing on the cake.
There are some months where I already have the main offerings of course, but I think this service strikes a decent balance over the course of the year and is good value for the entry fee.

Still playing Dragon Age veilguard and enjoying it a lot. Been difficult to see the 'wokeness' that offended people so much, and though the writting is variable, it's decent enough in places and mainly serves its purpose. I had thought it was a 7 game, but as I continue through it it's becoming an 8 for me.
Also looking to jump back into Crew Motor Fest as there's a whole new island to explore and I really enjoyed it.

@OldGamer999 No idea mate, if COD were the only game in town, I'd give up gaming, no interest in it at all.
I'm also not so wound up by any of this stuff. if a pro patch is advertised but we need to wait a few weeks till it's delivered, I couldn't care less. I'm simply not prepared to be upset by something I consider so trivial, sorry.

Currently only one machine is a pro, and like you, I find it easy to see the difference.

I'm very much enjoying the pro. It makes almost everything a bit better, as long as you have a good TV and care about such differences.
Any engine that uses dynamic resolution gets an immediate improvement as the engine needs to throttle the resolution less on the pro to maintain target frame rate. If you thought that sharper images was simply some expectation bias, it's not, it's genuine.

Excellent! I may or may not try the game (couch co up with the misses is always fun), but Id definately be up for the real set 😁

I loved these titles. PS3 streaming is OK, and I might give them a run out for memories sake, but Id also love to see a modern evolution of these games...

Excellent! A friend brought this around when it was released and we had a good time with it. Its a great title to get with the service, and pro extras are the icing on the cake! 🎂

Would you care to mention another Korean developed game that you feel should have won instead? You normally make complete sense to me, but in this case your assertion of bias seems out of character, unless you didnt read the bit stating this was for Korean devs only..

@Northern_munkey Im in exactly the same situation mate. Since I missed it at launch I thought Id pick it up once it got reduced, but it hasnt been in any sales since, so I wont buy it. Im prepared to pay £70 for a lauch day title, but once its over 6 months old theres no way Im paying full price for it 😁

Whilst the store is far from perfect, it shares its issues with the stores on Nintendo and Xbox which are just as bad.
As for 'pro enhanced' games im sure i was looking at a section for that just the other day? You cant sort by it though and I guess thats what some seem to be wanting. I dont get that myself, as Im buying ps5 games based on if they are any good or not, a pro patch being a benificial extra, but not a deciding factor in a purchase.
All that being said, more filtering and sorting options would definitely be welcome and it astonishes me that none of the platform holders seem to update these options well. It seems like more options would not be difficult to offer, the stores are all just databases and offering search options for databases is software 101..

Im sure thats great news to the 2500 staff they aquired and then sacked.
I guess atcthis point they are becoming a 3rd party publisher, so at least further purchases are not with the intention of withholding games from other platforms.

@themightyant Whilst you cant change the encounter rate, you can set the battles to 'ultra fast' so that you can level up faster etc.
I like what they have done to remaster this. Another on the wish list!

Id also like to think Sony did its market research before spending their money on it, but given the Concord fiasco, I cant say that out loud or I'll be lauged out of the thread! 🤣

I really like this advert. Its about branding and association of fun escapism. Its certainly not the best of Sonys fantistic advertising linage, but its certainly not poor either. Its also clearly not aimed at the already invested demographic either, its clearly for those that havent invested yet, stating fun=playstation.
If you are seeking age demographics, I hit 60 this year.

Looks a bit formulaic to me. Im not a big extraction shooter fan, so I guess its not aimed at me, but I dont see any USP here that makes this game any more interesting than all the other games of its ilk.
I wish them luck, but this one is not for me.

Im a big fan of the old Heroes of Might and Magic, so this one has a great deal of appeal. I also appreciate the aesthetics!

That is objectively not the case.
The fact that you are not interested in the vast bulk of articles doesnt make them all about the pro. You surely appreciate that the site needs to cater to all sorts of people and cant pandar to your very specific wants only, I would hope!

Those of us with a pro want to know how some of our fave old games are performing and the machine is less than a week old. Of course Push are going to cover it loads, its why we are here?

Shame this is not a more appealing update, but I was never going to go back to this game anyway, so its no biggie for me.

Im pleased that those with an obvious agenda didnt completely scupper the sales. If its tracking like dd2 and ff rebirth it will do ok over time and thats good for the devs who undoubtedly poured their hearts into making it.
For what its worth, im enjoying it. Im only about 15 hours in, but if I were scoring now Id give it an 8 as I enjoy the combat and skill trees and I like the 'Rangorok' style level design and the environments can look stunning. Choices seem arbitrary and of little consequence, they feel like a legacy feature. Writting varies from 'ok' to 'Disneyeque' to a bit 'cringe', but its not a red line I cant cross. If it werent for the issues Id score it higher than 8, but 7 or 8 seems about right for me.

I think there are clearly some missing from this list that I would suggest are better soundtracks.
However, from this list, I'd like to see Avatar win as I like what they did. It might just be 'recency bias' however as I'm playing it atm!

@Blauwe_Chimay Im a massive forza horizon fan, own and play them all regularly including all the old ones.
This game is fabulous and I would recommend it whole heartidly if you like forza. I have over 200 hours in it and I wouldnt do that if I didnt love it.
Its clear from other posts that thats not everyones opinion. I cant tell you they're wrong, its their opinion of course. But they ARE wrong 🤣

@Bez87 The difference is I have my own opinion based on having a pro and an og ps5 both running in my living room. I dont have to quote someone elses feeling.
I spent 2 decades working for the biggest publishers and software houses in gaming making AAA games. It doesnt make me right of course, but it does mean I have a valid viewpoint based on proven industry knowledge and dont have to rely on what a youtuber told me.
The differences are very noticeable to me, and also to my wife and we are delighted with the pro already to the point where we will now replace the second ps5 with one.

Its weird to me how many people labasted games for dropping frames instead of hitting their target framerate, but now dont notice they no longer drop frames. Or complained about low res, but dont notuce now its no longer low res.

Idgaf what your youtuber says, or what you think. Im very happy with the machine and will continue to share my experiences.
If you dont want one thats fine, but dont try and tell me what Im experiencing first hand.

Im playing on pro and it looks fantastic, I have no issue with hdr, so its weird if you are having it. I hope you can get it fixed!

Many of us are interested in how games have been adapted to run on the pro. If you arent, just dont click or go somewhere else entirely. For your first post on this site, you sure set the bar low.

Im about 70% through Avatar and would like to finish that this weekend.
I started Dragon Age Veilguard on ps5 pro and have to say it looks great and Im enjoying the gameplay loads. The opening story piece (leading up to the titles) was a bit 'off' tbh, but its improved a lot since then, and the acting seems fine and characters are likable so far.

@OldGamer999 congrats, great set. Not something I would buy as I have a very bright room and oled is simply not bright enough to work in here (I have an LG oled at the dimmer end of the room and I need to use blinds before I get the oled pop). The mini led is far better option for my room, otherwise I would pick the same set!

Elvish rougue, often my choice.

Game is fun, but as many have noted, writting is really rather poor despite being pretty decently acted. It takes a shift of expectation to accept this and enjoy what they delivered, but if you can put that issue to one side theres a decent action rpg here.

Ive been very impressed. Even non patched games exhibit improved performance and if you have vrr, games which were previously plaugued with some issues have been buttery smooth.

One advantage that seems to be being overlooked is the advantage this gives to games which run with dynamic resolution to reach their target frame rate. They now no longer need to drop resolution so much to maintain that frame rate, so if you think they are a bit more detailed, you are not imigining it - they are dropping res less to maintain the frame rate..
I can't quantify the above without taking screenshots and pixel counting, and Im not DF, so Im not doing it, but this is how such engines work.

Its been suprising just how much benifit this pro has been to unpatched games, never mind those that have recieved a quick patch. The even better payback will come as newer games get released that have been designed with a pro mode in mind.

It may not be for everyone, but Im delighted with my pro so far...

There is no such thing as a 'pro game'. All games must run on a base PS5 and therefore modes appropriate for the base console should always be present.
Many games that have received updates will have extra modes for pro users, but they will never remove the options needed to run properly on a base unit.

I didnt expect a world of difference with older software tbh, mainly wanted it for what devs will do in future games. But the benifits already feel palpable and I'm suprised by that. Maybe its some kind of expectation bias, but everything seems to visually 'pop' more, like hdr works better or something.

@Kidfunkadelic83 Everyone is different mate. You should rejoice in your inability to notice these differences, as ultimately it saves you cash as you are just as happy.
Unfortunately I did do this for a living and cant switch of noticing small differences, as proffesionaly I would want to correct whatever imperfections I could. Im delighted at some of the differences Im seeing today with my pro, but I appreciate that not everyone will even notice! 😂

@GamingFan4Lyf Some people still have 60 hz panels and will not be able to display 80hz with vrr? I guess what's surprising is they didnt scale down the internal render to allow locked 60hz and upscale with PSSR to get that clean stability like they achieved with the 80hz mode.
