After what has felt like the longest January of all time, February has finally arrived, and it brings with it a new selection of PS Plus Essential monthly games.
The question is, how are you feeling about this new trio of titles? Let's go over what subscribers are being treated to this month.
First up, there's PAYDAY 3. This co-op FPS heist game has certainly had its ups and downs, and its inclusion on PS Plus is likely to try and garner some fresh interest. It's certainly not flawless, but if you can gather a group of friends willing to put one of those hideous masks on, there's surely some fun to be mined from this one.
Alternatively, there's High on Life, another first-person shooter — albeit an entirely different one. This comes from Squanch Games, the studio behind the hilariously surreal Trover Saves the Universe and Accounting+, and arms you with a series of blabbermouth talking weapons. If you're into that sort of Rick & Morty-esque madness, there's plenty of that to enjoy here.
Finally we have Pac-Man World Re-Pac, a remake of the PS1 3D platformer. This throwback is a pleasant, if safe, trip down memory lane as you gather dots, chomp on ghosts, and explore cute 3D levels. There are certainly better platformers on PS5, but if you're in the mood for a nostalgia kick, or just for some chilled out, breezy gaming, we reckon this will see you right.
So, what are your thoughts on this selection? Is this a nice, varied bunch as the year gets started, or has Sony dropped the ball? As always, vote in our polls and share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Worst selection for a while for me.
Nevermind though, I hardly ever get round to playing these anymore.
Sony can keep my money and these games.
Usually I’m not one to say terrible month. But I have to say it this time round. It’s really poor offering.
Hopefully extra makes up for it
Ill give Pacman a try with my son. Played payday 2 but it was too cluncky. Might try High on Life. Is it the game with the talking weapons?
Make your bets: what dead crappy live service will be on March essentials?
This is the first month in a very long time I've had no interest in any of the games. If my backlog were not astronomical and filled with so many great games, I would give High on Life a try, but time is limited and there are too many excellent games to play.
High on life single handedly saved yall 😂(phew, that was close! ps plus subscribers have it rough!), and i always wanted to play high on life, another M$ banger supposedly
@Dalamar concord
@nomither6 I would’ve taken Concord over these three. Meme status though it is, it was a better game.
For me, this is an awful selection. A 6/10 tier Pac Man game is the highlight.
I will download Pac man world re pac .and i will put high on life in my library.word up son
I can’t remember a worse month, honestly.
What is wrong with people? Besides Payday this is a great month.
I'm all in on pacman. Always happy with a good old 3d platformer.
It's pretty bad this month. But luckily my next 200 hours play time will be on Sniper Elite Resistance which I've just started.
If one essential game appeals that’s a good month, and I’m interested enough to give High on Life a go.
Used to like platformers like Pac-Man, but VR ruined all depthless platformers for me.
No interest in Payday.
I’ve had High on Life on my wishlist for a while, so pretty happy with that at least.
Not really, but I don't mind. I have ps+ mostly for the older games I added to the collection over the years, plus the odd game from premium.
if you like Rick and Morty you should check out high on life
Honestly all games here I'm at least somewhat interested in, and Pac-Man World is my exact jam so I'm really glad to play that one finally
@Ken_Kaniff it's awful
I wanted to play high of life so I am okay with it. Otherwise it's trash
I was disappointed initially but, upon reflection, I’ve changed my opinion. Since I don’t have any of these games, they’ll be new gaming experiences for me. That’s a definite plus. Dare I say, it’s a PS+? 😋
In a couple words, no no
Normally I can find one game I want to play. This time not so much. Payday never appealed to me and I really don't care for Rick and Morty. So Pac-Man? I like it I suppose.
@DonkeyFantasy you need to change your av.
Fun little selection. I think only Payday 3 I couldn't care less about.
One of the worst months in a while although I will try out High on Life.
It's pretty bad but I haven't played high on life so I will grab that one
This is a fantastic month for me. Games I'm not interested in enough to buy but am still curious to try is exactly what I like from PS+. I'm happy when just one game like that shows up but this month I got two at once! Very keen to give both Pac Man and High on Life a go
As dreadful as the monthly games usually are in recent months, I usually try at least 1, but this is just utter scrap,
Insert " but BrO iTs BeTTer tHaN NoTHiNg" comments"
High on Life is a good game for ps plus.
I'll try Pac-Man World Re-Pac too.
The big problem is the games that I like in this selection I already own!
Played PAC world and own high on life. Both good games but not good month for me cause if that fact but I don't think its as bad as some are making out. Not in the slightest
I play the Pac-Man game repeatedly on PS1 because it was the only game I had as a kid back then when I got it for Christmas. I'm looking forward to returning and aiming for the platinum trophy.
I might give Pac-Man a try, but this is one of the worst months I can remember.
