Some people have been calling it one of the best PS Plus updates ever. Others say it's the best PS Plus update yet. But don't let pesky internet commenters sway your opinion! As always, we want to know what you think of the confirmed PS Plus Extra and Premium lineups for February 2023.
Extra's selection is impressive right off the bat, with Horizon Forbidden West leading the charge just 12 months after its retail release. Aloy's open world adventure is joined by schlocky interactive story The Quarry, which is also relatively new, and a bunch of well-regarded titles like Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Tekken 7, and more.
The general consensus seems to be that PS Plus Extra has been popping off for months now, while PS Plus Premium has seemingly been left to rot — at least on the classics front. But even that point of contention has been addressed for this month's update, with fan favourite JRPG The Legend of Dragoon hitting the most expensive tier alongside Wild Arms 2. Not bad, not bad.

If you're not happy with the extra games, I honestly don't think gaming is for you. I have most games already and still know that's amazing list.
Very happy, I sold HFW after completing it last year and was going to buy it again soon ready for the DLC so this update has saved me some money, then there's quarry which I've been wanting to get, borderlands 3 il definitely jump back to and get the DLC, then there's three hidden gem JRPG's in i am setsuna, lost sphear and oninaki. And finally the forgotten City which looks quite interesting. I would also highly recommend Scarlet Nexus, great game and probably one of Bandai's best games in a while.
So yeah, best month of additions to me so far.
Extra is both a great month and completely worthless for me as there are plenty of great games but I already own most of them, certainly the ones I want to play. Premium is looking good for onec with some great PS1 support, just with PSVR2 a few days away I won't really have time for any of them
Looking forward to the 3 RPG Factory games, especially Oninaki.
Best month ever 👍
Stellar month for Extra. I purchased Forbidden West and have RE7, but had been waiting for a steep sale or PS+ offering on The Quarry and Borderlands 3. Also curious about Scarlet Nexus, Forgotten City, and Ace Combat 7.
I've been seriously considering buying a copy of legend of dragoon, even at the £150 price it currently commands. So super happy to see it legally playable cheaper finally.
@Th3solution same! The Quarry, Scarlet Nexus - interested in both, wouldn't have purchased. Ace Combat nearly bought loads of times. Haven't played HFW - got bored during HZD, but I'll take it for free any day of the week.
What a month.
I think there's a lot of interesting games this month on Extra. The only one I expect to play is The Quarry though.
If I had more time I might chexk out the Tokyo RPG Factory games, but they all seem to be tepid recommendations, rather than can't miss retro JRPGs. Seems I'll stick with Indies for that: Sea of Stars, Chain of Echoes, etc.
I don't have premium but the fact that they brought legend of dragoon and wild arms 2 and in turn most likely allowing people to buy them or just have them ready if they were already previously bought makes it a great month
It's also extremely cool having access to wild arms 1-3 on PS5
@carlos82
I’m hoping this means AC7, Res7, and Borderlands 3 get surprise PSVR2 support announced for release (I can dream!)
Shouldn’t be hard to be the “best month ever” for 2 services that are only 9 months old. New services tend to be good in the beginning to get new customers to pay for a year subscription, but can they keep this up over time, or even try? 🤷🏻♂️
My wife tells me we just bought Legend of Dragoon recently digitally, it is a great JRPG so good to see it get some recognition.👍 One of the few games along w/ Xenogrars I really regret trading in way back when.🥲
@thefourfoldroot1 you'd think it'd be pretty easy to port RE7 given it only used the controller anyway
@carlos82
Hell no! It needs to be VRAF like 8. Which is definitely going to happen, the dream part is it being at release, lol.
It’s all good, even though, as always, I own the games I’d want from the collection already. I swear, Gamepass and PS+ are both like “You bought all the games you wanted the last ten years? Why? Here they are on a service.”
Glad we’re finally getting some new premium titles though. Always happy to go back to the vintage titles that haven’t been available for a while.
If you are not happy with this month then u never will be or are trolling. For premiums its been pretty much nothing up to this point and dragoon and wild arms 2 are huge
Im always happy with it, but this month seems particularly fine.
@thefourfoldroot1 oh I'd definitely prefer that, there's a big VR influencer who's adamant that there's still quite a few launch period games to be announced, so we may get some nice surprises
This is a great batch with something for everyone it seems. Crazy Horizon getting added around it's anniversary. That's cool for anyone who doesn't have it. I have it, so I'm excited to try out The Quarry and Tekken 7! When I bump back up to Extra, that is. It's just a bit pricey to keep for me.
Although I'm currently playing the stand out title for Extra in Horizon Forbidden West, there are still a few games which I'm interested and not yet played, probably more so than most months I can remember.
@Ssimsim Translation: "If you don't like the same thing as me, you're stupid."
@Toypop Nearly as bad as the ones who bought it day one and pretend they're glad because they don't have to put the disc in anymore now when they want to play it 🤣🤣
@brazzios_84 I was joking. I know everyone likes different types and genres of games. But for the majority there is going to be a game there that people like.
The Extra selection is great. Already completed RE7 and HFW, so I'm mostly looking forward to Scarlet Nexus and The Quarry. Also might try Oninaki, Lost Sphear and so on - more JRPGs for the service is always good in my book.
Extremely happy with this month. I don't think Extra has had a really bad month yet but Premium has been lackluster for a while and left me questioning why I have it. But this month has given me games like Wild Arms 2 and The Legend of Dragoon, the kind of titles I want on Premium. Hopefully Premium gets better in the coming months but I'm holding my breath on that
Im happy have not got around to playing HFW yet.
@Toypop Or people like me who bought it on release, sold it after finishing and now a year later feel like playing it again without having to pay.
Anybody any idea if Legend of Dragoon will be available separate in the store?
@LazyLombax been wanting to try forgotten city for Some time. Definitely going to Give it a Play through
If you aren't happy with this lineup, Idk if any lineup could. There is something for everyone here.
It is a great month, I already have most of the games hence the ones I am looking forward to are EDF and Wild Arms 2. If you have PSVR and don't have AC7 then you are in for a treat, really good experience if a little short.
Brilliant month, nice one Sony.
I already have all the games from the extra line up the I would want to play, so it's a great selection.
Premium has been a total waste of money so far.
I think I'm just on a games overload these days. With the number of games given away free by epic and Amazon prime and the Gamepass and PS++ catalogues it's just why more than anyone can play. I have so many different copies of RE 7 available and I've never bought the game. It's now been offered on all 4 services. So even though this is a great month, I'll play H:FW and then cancel my PS++ Just to many games and not enough time.
@Toypop sorry, that's rubbish. We all know that 99% of games will be "free" at some point and all the big hitters are going to be on one service or another after 12 months. I really liked HZD and knew I wanted to play HFW but also knew it would hit PS++ in 12 months and PS+ in 24, Sony told us this is the plan. So I chose to wait as I have games coming out of my ears. Don't blame your lack of impulse control on Sony. You knew this too when you paid your money, even if you did not want to acknowledge it. You got to play the game when you wanted to, and did not have to wait till it was offered, that's what you paid for and that's what you got. So be happy. That has value.
@Toypop "Sony are double-dipping and milking you for £70 a pop, whilst simultaneously charging you a sub." No their not, I don't pay £70 for any games, I'm happy to wait 12 months. Simples. You made a choice and paid your money, Slamming your face on your desk and screaming they ripped me off makes no sense. But, if you didn't know before, now you do. Every Sony game will come out on subscription after 12 months. Make informed choices.
As a Premium subscriber, mostly happy. It's without question one of the better months so far, but I still think Sony is sleeping too much on the PSP offerings. There is a treasure trove of great content in that library and the opportunity to get it to more people is being wasted.
Yes I'm happy. I'm looking forward to both The Quarry and The Legend of the Dragoon.
Many games of the Extra list interests me, but the 1st I will get is Ace Combat 7. I'm a long time fan of the series, and was dying to play this one for ages. Borderlands 3 is very welcome too, but a massive game like this one requires time, so a little down the line...
@Toypop there are a lot of games I would not buy on their own that I am excited to check out when they hit PS Plus. Calling it "effectively worthless" for not having HFW at launch is nonsense. Judging by this poll the majority of responders did not purchase it at launch and are excited by its inclusion
@Toypop haha alright man I think you are the one making points up for the sake of argument, the concept of the service is simple and if you don't see value in it then don't subscribe, you don't have to grasp at straws of reasoning for why other people find value in it. Peace!
