Almost 18 whole years after the original Persona 3 released on PS2, a complete remake in the form of Persona 3 Reload is now available on PS5 and PS4. It feels like a proper Persona 3 revival has been in demand for generations, and now that it's actually here, we want to know if you're playing it.
"A stunning remake of a classic RPG, polished to near perfection" is how we described the game in our Persona 3 Reload PS5 review. Awarding the title an eye-watering 9/10, we concluded: "Reload is borderline essential if you're yet to experience Persona 3, while also providing a near perfect way for existing fans to relive a seminal release."

I have it - it arrived today. But not playing yet. Playing Yakuza / Like a Dragon first, then will be playing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth - i do want to get to this as soon as possible - but given the speed i beat games, it will likely be may or June 😅
A remake 18 years after it was released on PS2, and yet you still need a PS2 to play the best version, crazy.
I would usually be playing Persona games day one but LAD Infinite Wealth gets priority so that one is gonna be a while yet especially when FF7 Rebirth is also out later in the month
I was interested in getting it, but annoyingly it's still not quite a definitive version that contains all the content of previous iterations — otherwise I'd have nabbed it in a heartbeat.
On gamepass... Sometimes I get quite envious of our Xbox owning buddies.
people that like anime are winning right now with games huh
I was going to skip this title for now. The biggest reason is that I've only played the male protag route, so I was wanting to do the female protag route next time around in P3P. If they add some dlc for that or for the extra FES storyline, then I might reconsider.
I think I'm going to get it tomorrow. I wanted to wait until I finished FFVII rebirth, but the reviews really convinced me to get it now.
As I just played through p3p last year twice, I'm gonna wait on this. Also I enjoyed FeMC far more so still holding out hope she's included in a future update
@Starkei gamepass is just not commercially viable for ms is it. They are losing a ton of money to it lol.
Afraid Like a dragon 8 still has my attention, but i did pick it up. I will be playing it eventually.
On the final chapter of infinite wealth will only have getting to lvl 70, Dondoko island and the 2 dungeons to do to get the platinum, but I might check out persona I have bought it and it’s installed, I think I will have enough time to do it before rebirth 🤞 though I did want to get the tomb raider trilogy that might have to wait haha
I’ll be playing it a bit over the weekend.
Hoping to continue on with God of War Ragnarok, MGS2, Sonic Superstars as well for PS5 wise.
ESO, Star Wars republic commando, Tunic and possibly GTA 3 for PS4 wise
I'm so behind in games right now. Got Final Fantasy 16 for christmas so im still going through that right now. I will be picking this up as soon as i'm done!
@Mikey856
Microsoft made over 20 billion in revenue, in the last quarter of 2023 alone. They have no problem burning some money and afaik they even made revenue with XBox gaming, do not ask me how.
@NoHope They made revenue due to the addition of ABK, they are now counting call of duty sales, and microtransactions from mobile games. Without ABK and Bethesda they would be further down on the list of the highest earners in the gaming market.
Hurgh we got a code for this! But I am busy preparing my FFVII PHD replaying Crisis Core, Remake and the original game whilst also fencing off German kids online in Tekken 8 (why Bamco, why? Fix the localization!)
I'm gonna wait for the inevitable 2nd "definitive" version of the game as I don't really want to double-dip.
I’m still playing Persona 5 Royal, and I’ll probably play P4 Golden next, so it’ll be a while before I get to this one.
Yep, I pretty much bought a series S just so I could play games like this day one for "free". Well with all the rewards points I earn with Microsoft the membership really does pay for itself. I really wish Sony at least had an equivalent to that because Stars kinda pales in comparison.
I'll wait for the reReloaded launch
I'm playing it for the first time and I am enjoying it a lot. I am bouncing between this and Like a Dragon at a steady pace and have until later on in March (Rise of The Ronin) to complete both by. I am planning FF7 Intergrade and Rebirth later in the year during the quiet summer months.
The QoL features to put it closer in line with P5R while adding some new things with UE4 is great. I also noticed they kept some very intentional PS2 design choices for the interiors and lighting. Apparently some of new new tech tried out on this project will be carried over to P6 which is encouraging (Also why development is taking longer than expected). So far it's tracking at a 9/10. It's clearly a lower budget effort vs other big SEGA titles but it still is enjoyable to play. It's also great to see lots of other new players having a go on Gamepass too.
Not day one. There is definitely a P3R royal or what edition. P3R is not even a complete game without the content from PS2 versions.
Devs have said they don’t plan on releasing a refreshed version of this one. Which, if the rumors are true, would make sense due to The Answer being added to this version as DLC at a later date.
Sadly no plans for FeMC DLC though.
Having played FES and Portable, Reload still seems like it will be the best version.
Loving the game!
With it being on game pass I'm doing a speedy playthrough and I'll do a Platinum run of the inevitable FES/Golden/Royale edition
@bassjas12
It would definitely make more sense to make "The Answer" as DLC since that takes place after the main story. So people that are waiting for a "royal" version, where you have to buy it all over again might not wind up getting what they expected. Though this is Atlus so I guess we never really know.
I will abstain to play it on Xbox in order to play my physical copy on PS5 (And I am busy replaying FFVII remake in order to prepare for rebirth)
@ATaco yeah, Atlas could totally change their minds. But the production manager has been quoted saying they are “not considering a revision like with Persona 5 to Persona 5 Royal.”
I'm alternating between this and Infinite Wealth but I've been enjoying both JRPGs a lot. Never played OG (only Portable) and I loved that it has some P5 elements to it.
@MeerkatSimples thats crazy good going. Ive put in a couple of hours a night and im only lvl 14. On chapter 4 lol
I refuse to support Atlus and their scummy anti-consumer practices, so I'll buy this second-hand once it's heavily discounted at CEX or eBay
@NoHope I’ve no doubt they’ve got a ton of money to burn but how long will the guys ya the top of MS keep doling out the cash for it that’s the question. Basically giving away the games isn’t a good business model and cannot continue forever without serious price hikes
@UltimateOtaku91 This is just false. No this doesnt contain the answer but this version is far superior. I dont understand this take as the fan base generally hated the answer after the release. Now that its not included people have pitch forks out.
Like a dragon right now, but this is next on the list, unless I don't get time and too close to Dragons Dogma 2!
I got it on Gamepass, probably play short while and then jump right back to GB Relink. P3R is good but it doesn't have FeMC which I want to play.
@UltimateOtaku91
The 2 quarters before the aquisition from ABK they made 18 and 16 billion € in revenue. I hope they stay in gaming, even though they efd up hard the last couple of years. But please all remember how cocky Sony acted with the PS3 and in the beginning of the PS3 era. Xbox 360 brought them back to the ground, they were disgusting towards their custoumers.
Loving it at the moment. The combat is way better and I'm glad they included the "baton pass" in this games combat
