Normal, numbered service returns in this week's WAYP, as we push forward for a new year of Push Square's longest running series. Hard to believe we're now up to 408 issues, to be honest.

I'm absolutely loving Life Is Strange: True Colors, so much so I can't believe I waited this long to play it. I think Life Is Strange 2 had soured me on the series so much I was reluctant to play this, but fortunately the franchise is back on form so far.

I'm enjoying my fresh playthrough of Dragon Quest XI S a lot — it's just the kind of charming RPG to get cosy with when the weather outside is atrocious. I'm also not ashamed to admit that I'm totally hooked on FIFA 22 again. Honestly, I've got quite a nice mix going on.
Liam Croft, Assistant Editor
I'm sort of just killing time until next month rolls around, so I'm playing pretty random games at the moment. This weekend it's Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, which I'm just replaying on my Xbox for all the achievements.

I'll slice synthetics, and shoot shuriken as a ninja clan's sole survivor, Shadow, to honour the pixel art platformer Cyber Shadow receiving an Honourable Mention in Push Square's Best PS5, PS4 Indie Game of 2021 feature.

I'm planning to finally run through Titanfall 2's campaign. I've had the game for years but never touched it until now. I've been told it's not terribly long either, so if I get through it quickly, I'll likely carry on with my Lost Judgment playthrough, too.
The first proper WAYP of 2022 is in the bag, but this article is never over until you've had your say in the comments section. What are you playing this weekend? Let us know below.

Just finished with guardians of the galaxy which was excellent. About 6 hours into Kena which I’m also finding excellent!!
I am currently going through the Frozen Wilds before the very last story mission in Horizon Zero Dawn. It took me very long to warm up to the game but I am glad I did: now I am really hyped for Forbidden West!
Will be playing Mass Effect: Andromeda on PS4, Steins;Gate 0 on Vita and Sonic & Knuckles on PS3. Really liking the first two games so far and it's fun checking out classic Sega games.
98hrs in CP2077, feels like TW3 with cars, side quests are just as engaging and interesting. Love the uniqueness of the cars on the exteriors and interiors. Combat is fun, hacking an enemy and system resetting them from a distance. It's a fun game overall tbh. On the side, think I'm now really liking my AC Odyssey 2nd run I started since forever why? Because I'm playing it the R* way - slow.
Pretty much done with all Dirt 5 career events, gonna start playing Demon Souls for this first time on my PS5! I haven't played a souls game since BB, and that was 4 years ago, so I'm pretty excited.
Sorry to be one of those people, but I have just set up my PS5 last night 😍😍😍 and I have just finished astro bot. I felt as though my cheeks were gonna burst from how much it made me smile just running around collecting artifacts. I'm now eyeing up Deathloop even though I have a massive backlog...... But Arkane is my fave. Hahaha yep gonna buy. Happy gaming all.
Hi there fellow gamers.
This weekend I´ll probably play some more Deathloop for the Platinum. Man some trophies are anoying and some are brilliant.
More Ghost of Tsushima Directors Cut new game plus on PS5.
The game is stunning and engaging every time I play it. GOTY.
A bit more of Forza Horizon 4. Gotta collect those cars.
And I really should go back to Guilty Gear Strive. I´ll probably gonna get my ass kicked since I´m so rusty, but man the game is fun once you get in the grove.
Cheers, stay safe everyone and happy gaming weekend to us all
On Episode 3 in Death Stranding Director’s Cut. First time playing it and really enjoying it thus far. Reading that it is a 40-50 hour play through is a bit disappointing as I feel I may tire of it by that point. Will also get in some Fifa 22 Career Mode, with Operation Sports realism sliders this is a fantastic sports sim this year. Having fun playing using Erik ten Hag tactical setup I found on Youtube, dominating possession (70/30) and not allowing single shot on target vs West Ham felt very satisfying haha. Enjoy the weekend everyone!
Now on what must be 5th playthrough of Legend of Zelda Breath Of The Wild, a game I'll never tire of playing. It's a masterpiece in open world game design and a lesson to other developers in how to do them. I've been gaming for over 30 yrs and nothing will compare to this game.
Also carrying on cracking Forza Horizon 5
Have a great weekend guys ❤️
In the 'controversial' second half of The Last of Us Part II and looking forward (NOT looking forward) to the challenges that await. They're not bad people, rather they're simply capable of doing bad deeds just like a certain Mr Miller.
It's an outstanding technical achievement and a really well made game. Playing on Hard+ so resources are very scarce but at least knowing what happens means I can prepare myself!
Have a good one, folks.
I have to work a few hours today, but afterwards I'm going to take a good chunk out of Death Stranding.
I'm enjoying it. At times it feels like one of the most fun games I've ever played, and at others it feels like one of the most annoying. (The dialogue is downright terrible at times.)
But there's more good than bad in there, so I'll get through it at a chill pace. Loving the gameplay.
Finally settling into Assassin's creed odyssey. A bit of Layers of fear. Always have a AAA and an indie on the go at the same time.
Finally gave in and bought Demon's Soul even though I kind of hate being punished by boss battles … but it just feels really, really good to play, and the tension gunning for the next safe place is captivating.
To relieve some of that tenion and, let's be honest, frustration I imbibe a lot of drugs and talk to weirdos in Disco Elysium. What an incredible rpg.
(Having finished Kena, RE Village and Guardians of the Galaxy, this has been an excellent month on my PS5!)
Yakuza Kiwami - it's my first Yakuza game and really enjoying it.
Superluminal - Mind bending Portal like. Genuinely had me stumped a couple of times.
Genshin Impact - Enjoying exploring new land Enkanomiya in 2.4
Hoping to finish off a couple of games as i'd love to replay Horizon and the Frozen Wilds DLC (which I bought but never played) before the sequel, but a lot of new drops on PS+ and Game Pass are tempting me!
Started Persona 5 Strikers yesterday so that's probably my weekend, but I also grabbed Guardians of the Galaxy and Disco Elysium in the sale, and there's a chance I'll switch to one of those if the music from Persona gets to me a bit too much. Seriously have Atlus never heard of volume controls?
@themightyant it's a short one, but it's great, enjoy!
Edit: Superliminal
Playing Dead Space 3. So far, so terrible.
Well, my ps5 is now officially dead and now I'm done gaming on playstation for a long time. The 1 year warranty ran out and sony said it would cost A$400 for the repair, that is over half the price in Australia. Good thing I invested in a good gaming pc last year so I honestly don't need to buy another ps5 for a long time, especially since it looks like the days of playstation only games will be ending in the coming years. On the bright side it means I can now play games without worrying about trophies as I was a massive trophy hunter because steam doesn't have an equivalent to platinums. Also I now have the ability to play many games that would otherwise never come to playstation or take a long time to (Monster Hunter Stories 2, Bravely default 2, Trails in the Sky games)
I'm finally playing Danganronpa 2, this game is amazing!!! I beat a cool speedrunner platformer game called Refunct ($1.42) which was fun and I'm also making my way through Mad Max CLEARING EVERYTHING!! So all in all this might be a change for the better. P.S PC game sales are actually insane, I pre ordered Elden Ring for only A$66
@theheadofabroom You're definitely not talking about Genshin Impact (1000 hours and counting... cries and lol's at the same time!)
I assume you mean Superliminal and not Frozen Wilds!
Finally started Dying Light after getting the platinum edition in the sale. It starts off slow and is a little overwhelming at first but I am starting to get into it now
SWITCH
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - going back to this one this weekend! Mainly trying to find those damn Koroks lol.
Splatoon 2 - gonna try and finish the Octo Expansion, it's pretty tough so far!
PC
Cyberpunk 2077 - I managed to upgrade my PC this past couple weeks so I'm going to start this one!
Garry's Mod/GTA Online - Multiplayer madness with friends later tonight!
Have a good weekend, everyone!
Gardeners of the Galaxy, of which I'm getting a little bored as there's less action than I'd like. I think the novelty has worn off. After I'll return to Ratchet, then Death's Door, Returnal and Kena.
@Hootnoodle Same here, I just got my PS5 yesterday afternoon and played through Astro's Playroom, it was so charming and now I'm starting Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart. Did you get it from GAME as well?
Vanguard, judgement, finished house of ashes so goin back to do man of medan and little hope curators editions
Grabbed Oxenfree for 79p the other day so been playing through that. I like it, but my goodness if the characters aren’t all complete knobheads 😂
Lost judgment (ps5) - great game so far. Planning on finishing up the yakuza series this year, besides this one I only have 5, 6, LaD and dead souls left. I also include fist of the north star which I already played.
Forza horizon 5 (XSX) - got the forza controller for Xmas from my brother which is a good excuse to get back into the game.
Pokemon shield + brilliant diamond (NS) - just shiny hunting.
@Integrity The action does ramp up in the latter half of the game.
@HUMPERDOO Oi, that's my mates you're talking about!
@munkholt 😂 Well that’s just, like, so whatever 😉
Picked up FF7 Remake Intergrade over Christmas and will continue playing that. Been a game for about 35 years and this is my first ever Final Fantasy game. Really enjoying it.
May also drop in for some Battlefield 5 if the mood strikes me.
@The_Moose Yeah, as a huge Dead Space fan 3 was such a disappointment.
@Sam_ATLUS Yeah I was browsing Game on Boxing day and got very lucky. I forgot about Rachet and Clank so I'll add that to my list. 😁
@munkholt I'm up to the Worldmind and it's been a bit of a chore since the Church came on the scene.
Been working on clearing the latest Savage Raids in Endwalker, and people have been testing my patience.
Hoping to clear this weekend
Going to continue my 2nd playthrough of Horizon Zero Dawn. I'll likely finally finish Halo CE on my Series X as well. It hasn't aged gracefully in my opinion, especially in the horrible middle of the game, but the bookends have actually been solid. If the game didn't get better again in the last couple of missions after randomly playing it again, I likely would have never finished it.
Horizon: Zero Dawn! I gotta get that 100% completion before Forbidden West releases. I’m playing through the Frozen Wilds expansion and it is fantastic.
H: ZD is overrall one of the best games on PS4. Top 5 for me.
Controversial one for me but im making my way through gta vice city (definitive edition) and honestly having a great time. It is janky for sure but there's still a classic game there and really enjoyable.
The greatest games ever made in god of war 2018.the instant classic in horizon forbidden west.playstation most underrated games ever in days gone.and PlayStation best platformer mascot in ratchet and clank.watching saved by the bell.martin.good times.the jeffersons.sanford and sons.ncaa college basketball 🏀 in Michigan wolverines.and tomorrow is the nfl regular season finale.so im watching my 💛Pittsburgh Steelers🖤 playing.win or lost with this could be ben roethlisberger final game.thanks for the 18 wonderful years and thanks for being part of the nfl best franchise ever.yo will be missed but never forgotten.one of the best nfl qb of all times.the hall of famer ben roethlisberger.once again thaks for all the amazing memories.word up son
@colonelkilgore fantastic series of games.
Kena (amazing), 9 Monkeys of Shaolin and hopefully will start Deep Rock Galatica tonight or tomorrow
@Channel42 for me this was an absolute gem of a game.
Playing some back 4 blood & hanging around in Valhalla.
Finishing and getting platinum in the last Spyro game of the trilogy. And it's sad.
On my PS5 Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon will keep me occupied between runs in Tales of Arise and Valhalla
Xbox gets some Halo Infinite
And my Switch will see Loop Hero
All of this according to what time actually allows of course!
Just have the final boss to go in F.I.S.T Forged in Shadow Torch, but Going to try and clear everything and grab all remaining trophies before I attempt it.
Maybe look at some other games to play like Dirt 5 for something different.
Also got stuck in to the 20th Century Boys manga which is excellent on volume 3 already, Have a great weekend folks!
Finally platinum’d Death’s Door this week, so I’m now moving back over to Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut. I’m just over 30 hours in, so I hope to actually finish it in the next few weeks. I’ve got Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy lined up and ready for when that does eventually happen. I’ve heard nothing but great things, so I really can’t wait!
@whitejessegpfc stick with it until the end. Some of the final episodes in DS are brilliant and really moved me emotionally. Trust me if you have to focus just on story quests it is worth it!
Horizon Zero Dawn, as I haven't played it since it was first released (and not played the DLC at all), and wanted to remind myself of the story prior to the sequels release, which I have on pre-order...
More Saints Row the Third, YouTube got me through the trafficking glitch which crashed the game every time you go for a car ride....it does mean I bought every property and 80% of the in game upgrades while playing around the glitch until I could go no further. Now I'm virtually invincible, and 23% complete, it should be breeze to complete
I'm not playing anything new. Still Tales of Arise.
But I'm commenting because I'm happy that someone from the staff is playing Dragon Quest XI !
yay JRPGs!
Mostly Genshin Impact. New to the game, no idea what I am doing but chugging along and having fun!
Not a huge fan of F2P games but this one is pretty darn good. Was hesitant at first but happy I gave it a shot anyway. 15 hours in, so far so good!
@Cyrus29 it is really starting to grow on me. Just got my first night time air drop - think I will be putting a lot of hours into this. A lot more interested in the sequel now
@Integrity how much action do you expect in a gardening sim?
@weR1youR2Podcast yeah i very rarely give up on games but good to know judging from your comment (might be misreading) that i won’t miss out on much by sticking strictly to main missions!
Currently going for the Platinum in Returnal.. The RNG is not being kind so far..
Replaying Ghost on PS5 along with the DLC. Also playing through the Danganronpa trilogy on Switch again.
@MatthewJP 😄 you're kidding right? Gardening is exhausting! Badger attacks, fox fights, mole molestation, insect insurrections, weed wars....it's a jungle out there!
Working my through kena spirit of bridges on master bridges difficulty mode to get that platty, I’m at the first major major boss. I really don’t like feeling mildly frustrated and agitated while gaming so I might give up. beyond that started life is strange troue colouuuuur last night and will also be playing zombie army 4 and possibly back 4 blood with my bubble buddy.
Got Death Stranding Directors Cut during the week.
I love a bit of Kojima mentalness but he's went on a bit of an acid trip with this one.
Still.. intriguing game so far so will keep cracking on with it. The baby crying via the controller speaker is rather unsettling.
Assassins creed valhalla for me..really good game and i love the whole viking thing..i like the assassinations and theres nothing quite like sinking an axe into some smug lords face..awesome fun..
I pretend to advance more in my very first Assassin"s Creed 2 playthrough (gonna play the entire series in the future), and gonna choose if I play more Hades, Dead Cells (get those new trophies), Kingdoms of Amalur, Valkyria Chronicles, or Wolfenstein: The New Order, wich I just got in the new sale on ps store. My hands are full!!
@Channel42 playing through the night was also terrifying & fun. As you’ve got the platinum edition- may I also add that the extra dlc is also brilliant-the following is so much fun. I’m also eagerly awaiting for dying light 2.
@themightyant Oops, yes, Superliminal
Carrying on with my RE7 play through and checking out Dirt 5 some more. It seems really good so far. The controller features are used well and there’s a good variety of tracks and vehicles.
i’m playin overwatch i love it and all it’s multiplayer goodness
It’s been a while since I’ve posted here, but I managed to buy a PS5 two days ago. I work all weekend, but with the little time I do have I am playing Spider-Man Miles Morales. I also purchased Deathloop, Returnal, Demon’s Souls, and Ghosts of Tsushima Director’s Cut - a game that I got the platinum trophy for on PS4. Returnal has been calling my name so I might try and play that. I’m also considering picking up Kena Bridge of Spirits. I don’t know what game I’ll actually wind up playing - but it’ll be a great time nonetheless.
Still trotting about in the early levels of Demon's Souls. Might try and make some serious progress this weekend now I've levelled my sword up a bit
Nothing too much on PlayStation side. I do want to try out Persona 5 Strikers if I get the chance.
I’m still playing through my second run of Dark Souls 2, hoping to get it polished off (including the DLC this time) in good time for Elden Ring. Pretty rare I bother playing a game twice (or even completing it once these days), so yes - I really enjoy this game! I should really experiment with different builds though, probably missing out sticking with long sword.
I might give Scream 2 a watch too.
And I’m going to look at some rollerblades later this afternoon 😂
Have a great weekend everyone 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I suppose I should play Pokémon Shiny Pearl and get that over with, but I’m struggling to stay committed to the game for some reason. Just goes to show that Gen 4’s problems for me were the generation, not necessarily the aesthetics. I also got Digimon Cyber Sleuth for Christmas, and I suppose I could play that instead if I want to do a bit of monster training. It’s the better game of the two.
Truthfully, I don’t really have anything new I want to play on PS5 and my backlog has trimmed, so I’ve turned to my Series S as of the past week. I’ve been home from work all week due to illness and really I’ve just been browsing Gamepass via xCloud, building a queue. Not sure how much I’ll actually play through on there, but deeply casual sessions of like a dozen games a day has been fun enough.
Got the Guardians of the Galaxy platinum the other day.
Onto a little palate cleanser, Perils of Baking, this weekend.
If you know you know.
I was kind of in a funk where I didn't know what to play so I decided randomly to load up AC Odyssey and try to power through the rest of the main story quests and did! It played much better on PS5 but I must say it's still my least favorite of the series by a pretty large margin.
So I decided then now I can finally start Valhalla and surprisingly I'm hooked. I think it's leaps (of faith) and bounds better than Odyssey even if it is a lot less stable (I've ran into a lot of bugs though thankfully nothing too bad). I've got about 15 hours in and I'm already pretty sure it's my favorite of the new style ACs so that's what I will play this weekend.
Uncharted: Golden Abyss (Vita) - Trapped in a tomb with Dante, need to fight my way out.
Mahjong by Microsoft (Android) - Dailies and puzzle packs.
Tiki Towers (Windows Phone) - About halfway now.
Bouncing between AC: Origins and FF X. I got FF X for X-2, but decided to try playing through X despite not really liking the longplay vids I had seen. I'm finding it better than I thought I would. Tidus is still a big twit, but his internal dialog is making him more palatable.
@Korgon - More than halfway done with Origins and I like it a lot, but Odyssey is still my favorite - likely because I played it first and have over 200 hours across three playthroughs into it. I grabbed Valhalla pretty cheap for the holidays, so even though I'm not really interested in Viking lore and such, I'm kind of looking forward to checking it out, and hoping it doesn't turn out like AC: Revelations, which I really couldn't get into and never finished, despite loving the first two Ezio games.
The wonderfully charming yet ridiculously hard in places, Kena: Bridge Of Spirits. Also the very clever and amusing, Disco Elysium and the still brilliant, Dishonored 2.
Lost Judgement, Guardians, F.I.S.T, Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, Shin Megami Tensei V, Mass Effect Legendary, 13 Sentinels. Yeah alot
@ceedj
I thought Origins was alright. I love the Egyptian setting and Bayek was a great protagonist. I think the main reason Odyssey didn't do it for me is because I just never liked any of the characters in it. Didn't like Kassandra or any of her friends and family, and the overall plot was just very boring for me. I did like the DLC for Odyssey though at least and I'm glad I went through it all before starting Valhalla.
I finally wrapped up the platinum for Idolm@ster Stella Stage, so it’s time to hop into Starlit Season. I’ll also be playing a few less embarrassing games. Maybe.
Trying to feel inspired by something spacey as I am currently making big and futuristic music for a small dev team. So, Alien Isolation (also thinking how damn amazing this would have been in VR had they flicked it on). Amore molto a tutti.
Fallout 4, while debating whether this game reality or our current world reality is more bleak.
I was playing Chorus, an amazing space game but got stuck on a mission I can’t get past (gotta blow up a heap of big ships blocking a laser beam) but I remembered why I got over Wingcommander and the like, damn escort missions. Bah (escort keeps dying) so yeah, that’s deleted, which is a real shame, it’s really really good. Anyway, playing Eastward now, fantastic pixel art game.
@Korgon oh man, there’s something about AC games that just don’t click with me. I try, I bought Origins and Valhalla, I get so bored after a few minutes in. I dunno what it is about those games. I loved Witcher 3 and it’s characters, but I just can’t get into AC.
I'm going to continue Mass Effect 3 if I find time. Replaying the trilogy thanks to the Legendary Edition has been my primary gaming focus since it released in May. My game time is so limited that it's taken me this long to beat the first two and get about 22 hours into the third.
@Hootnoodle I was the same on Christmas Eve, couldn't believe they were in stock for a full week. I could only get a bundle with a game so I ended up with Ratchet as I already have Ghost of Tsushima and Miles Morales on PS4 and 3 hours in so far, been having a solid time with it. I'm probably going to try out some of my other PS5 games: Demon's Souls, The Pathless, Returnal and Lost Judgment soon.
Blood Omen: Legacy Of Kain.
For the PSX. Going waaay back to 1995! Love the atmosphere, storyline, cheesey voice work, the gameplay and no hand holding. Was stuck on a very simple puzzle, had to backtrack & then it dawned on me. Absolutely love old school videogames!
Been playing a bit of forza its ok but very repetitive and pretty easy, only play about an hour or so at a time. Other than that not sure if i should give horizon a go before the next one drops or maybe try and finish demon souls im determind to finish it at some point lol.
Nothing. Just waiting for elden ring
Guilty Gear Strive is quickly becoming my most played game of all time and last I checked I was #96 in the global ranking. I should play something else one of these days
funny, i am playing dragon quest xi as well. scary to think i have 90 hours remaning until compeltion, though!
@Nerdfather1 Don't forget About Astrobot it's a great showcase for the dualsense!
@The_Moose yh its pretty painful, espcially considering part 1 & 2 escalate in excellance. Are you doing in co op at least? Its slightly more tolreable
@ThorsHammer No, funnily enough I've been searching the forums to see if someone wants to team up so I can get the trophies but no luck so far. I think I'm about half way through the game and it just feels like a big step back, as you say especially since playing the other two.
Obsessed with Demon’s Souls
It’s like an addiction.
Gonna start disco elysium
I’m currently playing the game of waiting for the delivery truck to show up with my PS5. But once I’m set up I’ll dive back into Miles Morales. I can’t wait to see the difference over my base PS4! I managed to snag one from the Sony invite program.
I beat Kena yesterday so I'm currently trying to figure out what to play next. It was going to be Watch Dogs Legion but I got bored after an hour and most likely going to trade it in.
ME Remastered thanks to EA Play
Farming Sim 22, over 120 hours in so far
Played some returnal earlier and though it's amazing, I need a break. I've been proper obsessed by this game.
My right hand has fully recovered so been neglecting the PS5 and catching up on PC stuff i missed last year:
PC Game Pass
Halo Infinite
Thr best Halo game in years for sure...but considering how mediocre 5 was, that's not high praise. Reagardless, its a fun back-to-basics for the series, basically the Silent Cartographer level expanded into an entire game. Taking a step backwards was a smart move n its nice just to kick ass as chief again. About a third in.
The Gunk
Cute little double A title, where they ring alot from a simple premise: clearing toxic gunk off an alien planet. The characters are flatly cartoony but the enviroments are stunning. On the last level now, enjoyed my time with it but will prob forget about it quick afterwards too.
AI: The Somnium Files
Pretty cool visual novel i stream on my mobile. Really like how the mystery unfolds and keeps you guessing, plus coupled with an odd offkilter sense of humor only the japanese could pull off.
Switch
Rogue Legacy
Man, been hooked on this one for the past three weeks. So tough, yet so bloody addictive, have finally persisted to the final boss but am stuck on his 2nd form. Hopefully will get done soon, wish me luck!
@HeroYoshiko
They had been my gaming comfort food up until Odyssey. That was the first one I dropped off of. They definitely have had their ups and downs but generally speaking I've always had at least a pretty good if not great time with the series.
I like the Witcher 3 as well but that definitely plays pretty differently.
May continue some in GoT Director's Cut & Spider-Man Remastered, I'm liking that the game is going much quicker since I've already beat it on PS4... I'm racking up XP & skills like crazy.
Besides that, I bought Demon's Souls, Alan Wake, & FIST in the sale so I'm really looking forward to playing Alan Wake & Control back to back.
Demon's Souls is my first Souls games so wish me luck!
@Korgon
Totally understand that, but funny enough, it was the opposite. I LOVED the main story and characters, while the DLC fell flat with me. Also like you, glad I'm doing Origins now before I dive into Valhalla so I have the complete story. Good times!
Still getting used to the ps5 UI. I must say tho, im loving it atm. Been diving in to a bit of everything really. Demons souls, Ratchet, WRC10, Planet coaster, Kena, Force unleashed, Hitman3, Final Fantasy VII, Tales of Arise and Astros Playroom. Demons souls has to be the best looking game on the system(that ive seen so far) the lighting, textures and particle effects are amazing. Taken advantage whilst the sales were still on.
@Sam_ATLUS @hootnoodle enjoy. I managed to get mine last week. Im very impressed so far. If you want to add me feel free. Tags in my bio.
@GalacticBreakdown good luck. Ive also just started it. I dont think ive ever apent as much time just stating at walls and lighting effects in a torch lit room before. Its truly remarkable. Feel free to add me if you like.
I just cannot get focused at the moment, I keep jumping around between hzd, mass effect and dragon quest 11s while aso other bits and pieces. All of which I have never completed ( barr mass effect back in the day). For anyone who's played dq11 I've just reached the 1st casino after gondolia, is there much left to go?
@Sladey69 I hear ya. Ive done the same in the past even to the point where ive just not gamed for a month or so then suddenly just clicked with a game and im off again 🤷♂️. I got stuck early on in DQ11 at the guy at the port just before i got the ship. Destroyed me 5 or 6 times and i didnt go back. Loved it until that point.
@Kidfunkadelic83 yeah I loved dq8 and get nostalgia for that and that makes me want to persevere, this is about my 3rd or 4th try my problem is I leave games for sometimes months then forget bits and restart. I might just not play anything else and try stick with it although hzd forbidden West is out next month so want to finish the first.Arrrrrrrrrggghhhhhh
@Kidfunkadelic83 I'm slowly starting to get use to how it all works, just have the PS4 one so entrapped in my mind it's going to need time to fully kick in. I've been playing a mix of games after getting 100% in Astro's Playroom and just testing things out before I go back to Ratchet and Clank. I've played a bit of Demon's Souls myself and it not only looks great but probably the best use of the 3D Audio Headset I've seen so far.
@Sam_ATLUS completely agree with you. Its just beautifully made game all round. Then again i didnt expect much else from bluepoint.
@Sladey69 i feel your pain. Did that with god of war and Horizon. Didnt remember the story, controls or what i was aupposed to be doing next so started them again before getting sidetracked by the next big release.
@Kidfunkadelic83 Bluepoint really know how to do a remake/remaster and I'm happy Sony finally got round to purchasing them. Very interested to see what comes from them next. I'm confident whatever it is it'll be great.
@Sam_ATLUS The Pathless is really good I highly recommend it, I played it on the PS4 and had a blast.
@Hootnoodle I actually do have The Pathless, I got it along with Demon's Souls from a seller on Ebay both brand new. I played around with it for half hour yesterday evening and had a fun time with it, I intend to go back to it soon once I've played a few of the bigger titles on my list. Aside from those I need to replay Horizon Zero Dawn before Forbidden West comes out and also finish off the Platinum trophy I missed.
Disco Elysium and RE VILLAGE! FTW!
@theheadofabroom you were 100% right Superliminal is bloody brilliant! Everyone go play it.
Mind bending, yet life affirming. Can already tell this will stick in the mind for years along with games like Portal, Outer Wilds, The Stanley Parable & Return of the Obra Dinn. Wonderful.
Edit: definitely want to play this again with developer commentary
@Kidfunkadelic83 I've got such a big backlog but same as you always love a game then get sidetracked and never finish anything. Got tlou2 persona 5 the list goes on and on
@themightyant Absolutely worth it
@Ashpip I’ve just started my second play through as the other character after a break of two years. Had 200+ hours logged before, yet I’m already completely addicted again. I find the world so beautiful, especially on PS5, in 4k hdr, on an OLED tv. As an ex-EQ/UO mmo player, this is easily one of my favourite single player games.
@GorosBat it’s £49 on Amazon for PS5 now… just saying 😀
@The_Moose remind me, is it crossplay? I can get it via pc game pass with EA Play if ur looking for someone to co op for trophys, just not sure it work across all platforms. Throw me a msg if u find out.
@ThorsHammer That's very kind of you but I just did a quick search and it does not support cross platform co-op. Unless you have a PS3 copy?
@Palleon Do you even read? I write multiple times that my currency is Australian dollars. Your price is way more expensive if you convert to AUD, it is 35£ in your currency
@The_Moose i do (thats how i originally played) but unfortunetly no more PS3 lols, it bricked on me last yr...man i love Sony but wish they could expand their back pat for these kind of situations. Best of luck, hope u find someone to help wrap the game
@GorosBat I didn’t see that in the post I responded to, no
Now kid, another, more friendly response would have been “You probably missed the bit of the post where I mention I’m in Australia. It works out around £35 after conversion, so a real bargain!”
Which then leads to a friendly response and chat
You’re welcome. And welcome to the “internet”
@Palleon
That’s gratitude for ya!!!
Finished Chorus. A bleh game with a terrible final boss fight. Gonna start up Allan Wake.
I finished up/platinum’ed the first Atelier Ryza. Now, I’m working towards the epilogue in Hades. So much fun doing these runs after a few months.
Two point hospital for me.
PS5: Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut and Fortnite
Switch: Shin Megami Tensei 5
@Feena I'm also playing it now. I tried a couple times to get into Horozon and never really could, but now I'm ayong it again and won't play something else until I make good progress
@ThorsHammer...dare we ask how you hurt your right hand ? 😉😅
@lolwhatno I agree with you and have no problem buying games again on pc, there are so many benefits for that. PC gaming completely changes how I play games, I'm a massive trophy guy, 97 platinums (ironic cause I'm so close to 100) and because of that, I tend to not play games simply because of super hard or long grindy platinums, that's why I don't play alot of JRPGs. So playing them on steam is a blessing although you do get a nice big blue ribbon on your games if you 100% them 😮. A massive bonus of PC gaming since I have a 3070 is I don't have to wait for ports of games to have upgraded visuals. An example is I've been getting lost in Mad Max on PC which only runs at 1080p 30 fps on ps4/5 but on PC I have the settings cranked up to the MAX at 1440p and 100FPS, needless to say it looks absolutely stunning, the driving and combat is so fluid.
I don't like using mods on games because I've had a bad history with crashes and whatnot as I built my first ever gaming PC last year and with that it came with a lot of problems as I was completely new to the scene. One positive is I only have about 25 games on PC and if I STOP BUYING GAMES ON SALE, I will actually be the first person in the world to have no backlog on steam. But alas, PC gaming is the most transformative experience in gaming you can experience in gaming, coming from someone who has only played console games until 2021. It is so much more complicated than consoles, so I had to google so much to learn but in the end when it works, IT WORKS if you catch my drift and I highly recommend trying it to anyone else reading this and is curious, as someone who was a complete PC novice it is completely possible to understand PCs if you put in the effort.
Lastly, I'm obviously never leaving this site as it has been my prime source for news on gaming for the last 7 years of my life and it's been fun commenting for the last 6 months or so, most of the news on this site is multi-platform stuff anyway✌✌✌
@KingPev thanks for asking, nothing dramatic or exciting lols, just a DIY accident that broke 2 bones in my hand. The weird upside is that it got me to play genres i usually dont bother with, like RTS or Visual Novels and found some cool stuff over the last months. Im still waiting for a full surgeon sign off before getting back to the game i was in the middle of before the accident...Demon Souls.
Nothing yet, but I'm planning to take a break from Ghost of Tsushima.
I wish to platinum Horizon: Zero Dawn before Forbidden West releases.
@ThorsHammer ...Nice. just be careful not to damage it again in a 'Controller rage' playing that lol
