The time passes quicker every week, doesn't it? Can you believe we're barely a month away from Christmas? Still, with tons of big titles to play and the Thanksgiving break right around the corner, we're edging towards a period of chill. And what better way to unwind than with video games?!
Sammy Barker, Editor
I'll probably be playing plenty of Pokémon Scarlet this weekend, but I'll also be battling my way through the odd round of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to boot. I'd like to get to Sonic Frontiers at some point, too. So many games!
Liam Croft, Assistant Editor
I have more God of War Ragnarok planned this weekend. Having just finished the main quest in Vanaheim, I believe I'm still less than halfway through. I'm very much taking my time with it, so much so that I'll happily distract myself with Qatar v Ecuador on the Sunday afternoon.
Aaron Bayne, Video Editor
With Warzone 2.0 finally here, I'll be getting into all kinds of prox chat mayhem in Al Mazrah with the lads.
What's keeping you busy this weekend, then? As always, you know the drill, so let us know what you're playing in the comments section below.

This weekend I will wait for my copies of Spider-Man Miles Morales and Ghost of Tsushima.
In the meantime, I will be goofing around in Pokemon Sword and Animal Crossing. I will also play some sweet Half-Life 2
Will be pretty much only playing new releases this weekend. On Switch I'll be playing Pokémon Violet, on PS4 God of War Ragnarok and on Series X Sonic Frontiers. Really enjoying all of them thus far!
Still playing graveyard keeper from PS Extra. Such an addictive game. Unfortunately we have visitors staying over this weekend so my game time will be limited, but booked Monday off work, so might finish it up over the long weekend.
Gonna attempt to get the plat for Sonic Frontiers. It’s really hooked me.
GOW:R about 20 hours in to it. Whilst im enjoying it immensely i wouldnt say my expierience had been any better than the first. I just kind of feel like ive seen it before and that awe struck feeling from playing the first and experiencing everything fresh is missing for me. Amazing game tho and the production value is top tier. Want to drag the wheel out and fire up Assetto corsa competizione if i can be bothered and then a bit of switch fun with the kids. Mario party and Mario kart id imagine.
Also want to grab a couple of bits in the sale Atelier Ryza 2 being one of them.
I'll be playing the newly released console port of Syberia The World Before. Might also jump into The Dark Pictures The Devil in Me.
This weekend I’m playing God of War Ragnarok (PS5). I’m roughly twenty hours in, and the game continues to get better and better. There have been several genuinely surprising story turns, and I can’t wait to see how this particular story ends. And knowing that I’m only 25-30% through the game and there is so much more to the game that I’ve yet to uncover has me very excited. I haven’t been this gripped to a game in a very long time.
Another game I’ll be playing if I can pull myself away from GoWR is Halo Infinite via cooperative on legendary difficulty with my best friend. We grew up playing every single Halo together, and we typically play through the first three games together once a year.
I have to say, Infinite has amazing cooperative play. I know the splitscreen debacle was a mess. It’s a shame it’s not actually a feature and that it took way too long to add cooperative play online - something that should be a basic feature - but it’s amazing now that it’s here. With the open world structure, you can approach missions in a variety of ways that make it a total blast to play. As of right now, Infinite is my favorite Xbox Series X game.
I’m hoping I can platinum God of War Ragnarok, beat Halo Infinite cooperatively on Legendary, buy Evil West for the Series X when it releases in a couple of days, and complete that game before I get married on December 3rd, and go on my week long honeymoon.
Got To Be Last Of Us Part 2 £8.99 On The Store Insane Price 👍👍👍
I'm at Chapter 5-2 of Resident Evil 4 and hoping to finally finish it off over the weekend.
It's certainly been a journey revisiting this after 12 years since I last played it with some highs and a few lows too. I'd still say the original 1998 version of RE2 is my favourite of the series.
I really hope the remake gets rid of the awful QTE's shoved everywhere in RE4 and maybe makes Ashley less of a dead weight too...
Have a good weekend everyone!
Playing Resident Evil Remake this weekend. It's the time of year when I'm in the mood for that sort of stuff. Can't get over how much it feels like the original while improving on almost every single aspect. Thank goodness you can play without tank controls now, don't have the patience for that nonsense any more 😁
Still on MGS 4 Guns of The Patriots on PS3 and loving it. Its defiantly old school in its gameplay and frustrating and clunky and its brilliant. Been in my backlog for years!
Also playing Skyrim on my SteamDeck and it's a great experience playing it on Ultra settings on a handheld
Also blitzing WRC 10 on PS5
Have a great weekend guys ❤
Switching between Pokemon Violet and the post game content for Ragnarok. What a game!
Won't be able to play now until Thursday (seriously my gaming time is Thursdays after 8 and alternate Wednesdays after 8), but I've decided to take a break from the stick of truth trophy clean up and go through ff7 for the 86th time, but this time with the option to play at 3x speed and trophies on ps4. I don't think I will ever not love this fella.
Ragnarok... Loving it!
Elden Ring 2nd run. Can't believe I missed a lot of stuff right under my nose on the 1st run. Just around Cave of Knowledge and Limgrave. And using the torch a lot and that Carian light this time around showing a whole lot of beauty hidden in all those dark areas. Just can't stop admiring that superb FromSoft art style. Plus eFootball 2023, then maybe I'll continue my MHW 2nd run also or any other.
I am in the middle of the next section after Vanaheim too and god (ha!) do I love this game. I also put 3 hours into Pokémon Violet. Going to be playing more of both this weekend. Also as an early Christmas gift to myself, I ordered a Series X that’ll come in Monday and I’m off of work. I’ve never had all 3 consoles in a generation before so this is a first for me.
@TheArt Elden Ring should be awarded the GotY award next month!
Well, obviously I’m playing god of war ragnarok. I can only play for about an hour a day so I’m going to be at it for a while
God of war rags and hot wheels unleashed on the 5 and power wash simulator on the sX. I may also attempt to organize my game collection before I get crushed by a falling stack of games
I've gone back to Salt and Sacrifice. I only played a few hours at launch, so I'm getting back in to it now.
I'll also be playing FF VII Remake again, and dropping in and out of Century: Age of Ashes. I'm excited for the PvE content in that one.
Going to try and continue with ragnarok although its the snooker final weekend so probably wont play too much. Probably be next week on me getting into it properly only done a few hrs so far but enjoying what ive played so far
More God of War Ragnarok and when I need a break from that, Star Ocean The Divine Force. And while I play those I will be waiting for Amazon to deliver my 2TB SSD for the PS5 I got in the Black Friday sales for £169.99. It's going to be needed with all the games coming out in 2023.
Fortnite, COD MWII multiplayer and maybe try to finish GOW because Ragnarok is just sitting in my library. Also maybe Elden Ring.
I’ll be continuing my journey in the nine realms I think I’m around half way seeing as I’ve just got to level 5
GOWR and some Ratchet and Clank.
Might be in the minority but looking forward to Need for speed in early December.
God of War Ragnarok, that I'm not in a rush to finish, Assassin's Creed Unity (and maybe an hour or 2 of India), and Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana. I'm dedicating more time to these lately. I plan to read a book tomorrow too, and maybe watch the World Cup opening.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim only 11 years late to the party 😅 and loving it ⚔️🛡️
@Zuljaras Yep definitely. It does something incredibly new with its world. This is an open world where there's something to be found at every corner, every nook and cranny matters. Lots of cleverly hidden places in typical FromSoft fashion. Plus of course that art style with superb lighting for every time of day.
I just beat Star Ocean The Divine Force today, solid game but drags on a little too long where you get to a point that you think the game is about to end but then springs a surprise final dungeon on you that takes 2 hours to beat, thank god the characters and voice acting pulls this game along, nothing special about the game but is a solid pick-up for any JRPG enjoyer. But my Gawwwwdddd, this game is simply the worst optimised game I've ever played on PC, I'd suggest getting it on ps5 or series X if you're looking at picking this up at some point, I highly recommend this if you see it on sale for 50% off.
Apart from that I will dabble in my rotation games of Slay the Spire, Vampire Survivors and playing through the Halo series. I beat Halo Reach again and have moved onto Halo Combat Evolved anniversary on heroic difficulty, the checkpoints aren't generous!
I'm finally tossing up whether which game to continue with, I could finish off Little Nightmares in a night or continue my Dragon's Dogma playthrough or I can play some Monster Hunter Rise to get ready for title update 3 because I need to get to Master Rank 120 to unlock the new monsters.
Happy gaming and have a good week 😋
@Ravix Woah dude really 😄. Then gotta pay your respects to @KingPev, the King of Skyrim, you'll probably find him at Whiterun or something 😆. Still feels like I haven't done a lot of stuff in that game, would have to get around to it.
@TheArt ....the King Of Skyrim ? Oooh ill take that ha ha
Forbidden West on ps5. Just clearing up the daunt, only a few hours in so far. The wife is playing the new Pokemon Scarlet
More GoW Ragnarök for me. Nearing the end I think and imo the game started amazing and had only gotten better along the way. Dont even mind the slower parts. So it will probably be my goty. And my next platinum
Final Fantasy XII - Gambit system is dope.
Final Fantasy XIV trial - Still a fantastic MMO
Dragon Quest Heroes 2 - Charming as ever British VO's.
Return to Monkey Island - brilliant as ever.
JRPGs and Monkey Island. I feel like it's the early 90's all over again.
I've been jumping from one game to another recently and that won't change for the weekend.
I'm about an hour into the Rose expansion on Resident Evil Village which I'm enjoying a lot but only play at night when it's dark
On Yakuza Kiwami 2 I've been concentrating on the Cabaret Club storyline but I can't for the life of me beat that final mission! So frustrating but still loving it.
Greedfall is another one I recently started and I'm actually enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would.
Obviously I'm still jumping into House Flipper too which is the kind of game I never thought I'd like but I absolutely love the addictive gameplay.
Oh and when I have time for the Switch I play abit of Wylde something..forgot the name but it's a farming game with a witch..it's pretty good!
Enjoy your weekend all.
I platinumed Sonic so God of War has my attention at the moment. It's been pretty good so far.
I’ve finished my second playthrough of Persona 4, and I must like it as it kept my interest again for 60 hours. I don’t cry at media, but that game gets me really invested in the characters. When it’s time for you to leave town, and the game to end, it’s hard.
Ragnarok. Absolutely phenomenal, love the whole package just taking my time with it. Action packed from the get go and so many fantastic moments so far. This game has everything. Jaw dropping Boss fights, Jump scares (at least for me😂). Improved combat & traversal quiet moments that make me well up and a rousing score. Having replayed GOW 2018 recently and reading Norse mythology even enhances the game even more so!
Nothing but Pokémon Violet all weekend for me.
World cup starts Sunday so i'll be watching that.
When i do get to gaming i'll be continuing with God of War Ragnorak. I plan on taking my time over it so doubt i'll be playing anything else for a while. I did pick up Sifu at Smyths Toys in a black friday deal this morning though, and also bought ANNO: Mutationem on PSN
Nioh 2 with all the dlcs.i finally beat nioh 2.wow what a game.now im playing some post game and missions.and i still got a lot of the dlcs waiting for me.what a amazing nioh 2 is.definetly one of the best games ever made.im also will be playing one of the best indie games ever in salt and sanctuary.i will be watching my Pittsburgh Steelers 💛🖤 play.and i will be watching retro legendary sitcoms in in living color.good times.saved by the bell.and martin.word up son
I’ve got another week off work which will help my energy levels in the lead up to Christmas. So I’m concentrating on clearing some of my back log. Up first I’m mopping up Plague Tale Requiem before playing something happier lol.
I'm about 23 hours into Ragnarok. Taking my time and savouring every morsel of content on this one, doing as much side-content as I can as I progress the main story.
I’m still steadily working my way through God of War Ragnarok, and I couldn’t be happier with the game. I’m around 12 or so hours in and it’s been the most fun gaming I’ve had all year. Still taking my time as I really don’t want it to end.
Wow what a gaming day.
My brother is shopping with his 7 year old son.
For a next generation console.
Both of them have not a clue even though they have a Switch.
They have come out of one shop, phoned me lots of questions.
The conclusion from the shop is that Xbox series X has all the Lego games and the PS5 has not.
Wow what adults and kids perceive 😂😂😂
i need to finish sonic frontiers and get my moneys worth
Finishing up Mass Effect 3, as I'm on the final mission now, and then onto God of War Ragnarok.
Digging out in WNY (only expected to get about a foot or so, my friends in Buffalo and south got 4-6 feet!!!), gonna muck about with Stardew Valley in between shoveling shifts - I haven't played it in years, and have noticed at lot of changes in the various patch notes. Should be fun!
To my fellow snow diggers - please be safe and take breaks!
Ragnarok for me but i also downloaded chorus as it looks interesting and not a game i usually play..have a good weekend everybody and heres hoping equador win 👍
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune again, as today is it's 15th birthday!
Finished playing thru the dlc and got the plat for Nier Automata without buying trophies except for the pod upgrades one cause Im not dealing with rng mats
The second half of the game is beautifully bleak. It's even more tragic having played the 1st game beforehand. All the secret bosses, the cast, and reports add so much to the world building. I still think the 1st game has better characters, music, and story but automata works really well as a sequel to the 1st. And while endings c and e didn't really do that much for me. Ending D was such a fantastic way to end the game I'll consider that the true ending lol
I tried to think of a less depressing game to play and smaller too so I settled with Undertale. Time to see what the hype was about all those years ago
I’m still plugging away at Gotham Knights on PS5. On Switch I picked back up where I left off in Mario Galaxy. Its such a breath of fresh air at times when im frustrated with other games. Have a great weekend all!
Switch- Bayonetta 3, Easy Come Easy Golf
Sega Genesis Mini 2- Phantasy Star 2, Lighting Force
Xbox Series X- Disney Dreamlight Valley, King of Fighters 15
PS4-Resident Evil 3
So a wacky week. I’m running the gamut from
Lollipop Chainsaw on PS3
to
GoW Ragnarok ok PS5.
On the side I’ll work on Valkyrie Elysium and on Switch Bayonetta 2
I'm only a few hours into God of War Ragnarok so I'll likely dive into that again
Just finished God of War, so I think I'll look at the black Friday bargains, maybe get The Last of Us II if it's under a tenner. Will probably play some GT7 if I am downloading something new
@KingPev You have all versions of Skyrim under the sun, you're definitely worthy of the crown haha.
@Dezzy70 Lol ikr, when a sibling or friend knows you're the go-to guy when it comes to games and they call you for advice out of the blue.
I decided on a bit of a challenge for myself, which is to start going through every game available on the "extra" tier of Sony's subscription. I sorted it from most recent to earliest and I gotta tell you, the quality of the releases were pretty rotten at the start of the service. From playing through Bubsy, to trying my hand at Rapala pro fishing... it's been tough but I'm trying to stick it out. Once I get through the early batch my experience should improve considerably! But yeah, now I've got a few goosebumps trophies I guess...
Slay the spire, mlb 22 the show, and re village dlc
1. God of War (PS5)
Great story driven single player games are truly what still keep me in gaming.
2. Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten (SteamDeck)
Just playing the opening - more for Thanks Giving Holiday travels.
Vampire survivors, GoW:R and Shredders Revenge with the boy. Maybe some Kirby with the boy as well.
Pokémon Yellow Version (GB) - Mopping up random trainer battles onto my way to Saffron City.
World At Arms (Windows Phone) - Nearing what I call the end of the road.
Angry Birds Star Wars (Windows Phone) - Also nearing the end of this as well. There have been some frustrating levels in the latter half of this game to say the least.
I have a long term project to play all the mainline Yakuza games from Zero to Like a Dragon. I play about one a year to keep them fresh. It is that time again, and Yakuza 4 is up.
Honestly: I am about ten hours in, and it is the weakest in the series for me so far. I know we play as different characters in this one, so maybe it will pick up. But no matter what, rain or shine, I am getting through this. I started this project, and I am not going to quit now.
Onward!
As many, still playing GoW: Ragnarök, and like many have already said, it's really fun but it feels like the rest of GoW, and there's nothing wrong with that.
Resident Evil 7 on Steam Deck if anything.
Rangorok, you gotta love it.
For the occasional break, myself and the misses have moved onto forza horizon 3, having done a grand tour of the series and finished 1 and 2 recently.
Whatever your playing, have a great weekend!
Continuing with God of War Ragnarok, also have bought Beyond a Steel Sky so will give that a go.
After watching All quiet on the western front on Netflix, I started playing 11-11: Memories Untold. Great game about WW I where you explore a story from the German and Canadian perspective. It has a really special art style. The whole game looks like an impressionist painting. Other than that I’ll play some GT7 and I’m trying to finish Sniper Elite 4
WRC Generations, almost Platinum
Pokémon and nothing else
PS5 - God of War: Ragnarök
Switch - Bayonetta 3, Code of Princess EX
Xbox Series X - Sonic Frontiers
Sega Genesis Mini 2 - Mainly Sonic CD and Streets of Rage 3
Well, I finally got a PS5, so I'm excited about that! Checking out God of War Ragnarok, and other gems I've been missing out on.
@somnambulance I think they're over charging by about 40 quid for that lol
@Would_you_kindly Absolutely not. Pokémon Violet is stunning. One of the best games of the year. The online discourse about the “game breaking technical performance” is blown out of proportion, same as it was for Sonic Frontiers. Reading some opinions of it makes it seem like the game is akin to Cyberpunk, which it is not. Pokémon Violet is definitely one of the best titles this year. Don’t believe the anti-hype.
Still taking my time with God Of War Ragnarok, I'm ~30h in and enjoying every minute of it. It has so very well crafted side content/quests that you sometimes forget to continue following the main storyline.
I'm also keeping an eye out for Evil West reviews, to see if it's worth buying when it releases next week. If it is, those 2 games should keep my "gaming time" occupied until Callysto Protocol comes knocking December 2nd.
With so may epic releases, it's an awesome time to be a gamer! Have a hyped weekend everyone!
@TimeDelayedGamer Holy blast from the past. LOVE your profile picture. Have that bomb the bass theme track in my head now.
GOW Ragnarok and Ghost of Tsushima DC for me!
I’m playing nothing it’s a bumper weekend of sport. The wheelchair rugby league WC final was uncompromising brutality, might resume horizon after the snooker
