Anyone else sensing the first signs of spring? Okay, so we’re still deep in the throngs of winter, and there’s a fair way to go. But the days are getting longer, and the PS5 release schedule is heating up. Here’s what’s keeping us busy this weekend.
Aaron Bayne
I'm pushing on with my Death Stranding playthrough (will it ever end?!) and playing a little more of the Dead Space remake.
Jamie O'Neill
I guess lightning strikes more than twice, because I was overjoyed recently when a third PS Plus Classic game was updated with a new Trophy list, and I don't need an excuse to hop back into PS1 Jumping Flash! for another playthrough.
John McCormick
I've started 2023 not by working on my ludicrous backlog or by opening any of the eight different games I got from Santa Claus late last year. No, I started 2023 by deciding now was a good time to replay both Persona 5 Royal and The Witcher 3 on PS5. I've been switching between them. I'm going for the Platinum on Persona 5 Royal (again). I've been getting all the little question marks on The Witcher and everything. Hopefully I finish one of them this weekend. Pray for me.
Liam Croft
I'm playing a video game I can't talk about yet. Sorry!
Robert Ramsey
I'm taking a trip to Review City this weekend. Unfortunately, that means I can't actually tell you what I'm playing, you'll just have to guess!
Sammy Barker
I'm genuinely still hooked on Genshin Impact, and I'm finding it hard to divert my attention elsewhere. Oh no!
Scott McCrae
I'm still plucking away at Hi-Fi Rush over on Xbox, and I picked up Daytona USA over there since it's getting delisted next week so there' s bound to be a lot of that. On PS5 I'm trying to blast through the Fortnite Battle Pass to get Doomguy before the season ends.
Simon Fitzgerald
With just three weekends of hype remaining until the PSVR2 release, I guess now would be a good time for me to get in those last play sessions on its predecessor. No doubt I’ll end up on Beat Saber, I just can’t not play it when I load up VR. When not in VR I may dabble in some Hot Wheels Unleashed and a few rounds of Battlefield 2042.
Stephen Tailby
I'm swamped with work-related gaming for now, though hopefully I can get back to playing Dragon Quest XI S in the near future.
That's a lot of staffers, with a lot of WAYP entries. There's some impressive variety from our team, though, we don't think any two members mentioned the same game. We wonder if you lot can maintain that record in the comments section below.

Beat Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga on Xbox GamePass and tried the Theathrhythm Final Bar Line Demo on my Switch after. Already got the game pre ordered and the demo got me in the mood for rhythm games so I’m currently playing Project Diva Future Tone on my PS5.
I've got "The Last of Us Part I", "Hi-Fi Rush" and severe tonal whiplash.
Ghostwire Tokyo, though I’m quite sure I won’t be doing all the myriad collections. On the fence about buying Valkyrie Profile Lenneth….been told it’s not advisable to play through without a guide
I shall be gaming on my newly acquired Xbox Series S. Currently making my way through High On Life.
Currently trying to work out what I can play without a left index finger.
I took a chunk of of myself while sharpening my chisels last weekend, so currently my finger is pretty much unusable while it heals, and it could take up to a year to recover whatever function I'm going to get back, which is annoying for using a controller.
Unfortunately I’m stuck in hospital after a nasty Crohn’s flare-up on Monday. Had an MRI yesterday and told just this morning that I need major surgery. So no gaming for me this weekend.. or maybe the next few weekends ☹️ And I was one session away from finishing The Last of Us Part I as well.
I have two goals for this weekend!
1) Finish Deliver Us The Moon - I don't know how necessary it is for enjoying Deliver Us Mars, but DUTM is apparently a short game so it won't hurt.
2) Start Hi-Fi Rush, I have it downloaded and ready to go!
I'll also be doing some Impacting in Genshin, doing some artefact farming at the moment to actually build out some of my characters rather than just winging it!
@The_Pixel_King that sucks, I hope it passes quickly and that you're able to get back to your usual self
Yesterday I beat Little Nightmares so this weekend I will continue with Little Nightmares 2!
I got hooked on Resident Evil 2 Remake again ... such a fantastic game!
And I really want to beat Castlevania Curse of Darkness, but it is hard to control on a native hardware(BC PS3) because of the stupid inverted controls of the camera! I hate inverted camera! I will play it as I am ashamed of never beating it, as I am a true Castlevania fan!
Happy gaming everyone!
Persona 4 Golden on PS5 this weekend, still need to finish that and play Trails of Zero
Probably just gonna have enough time to beat P4 before Like A Dragon Ishin comes out
@theheadofabroom Thank you my friend. That means a lot to me!
Football matches
Super hyped for Hogwarts Legacy next week so I’m rewatching the films and am up to the Prisoner of Azkaban! For gaming I’m playing The Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney trilogy, playing Justice for All, whilst not as good as the OG, is still an excellent game. Happy gaming and have a good week😋
@The_Pixel_King eh, I have a lot of chronic health issues of my own, so I know what it can be like. Nobody deserves what out bodies can do to us.
Finished Gotham Knights on PS5 and enjoyed it immensely..a lot of open world filler but the campaign is great with some superb boss fights. Not as bad as the non played haters would have you believe.
Now playing The Callisto Protocol and gotta say it's a disappointment so far. Stunning to look at but weak gameplay - rubbish combat, too much squeezing through cracks in walls, wwwaaayyy too linear and fighting the same goons all the time. Not great
Also will be playing Football Manager 2023 on GamePass...currently have Grimsby Town top of League 2 woohoo !
Have a great weekend guys ❤
Wrapping up on Fire Emblem Engage, for sure. Hi-Fi Rush as well with the family. And… on Tuesday, I’ll be playing Hogwarts Legacy!
@The_Pixel_King @theheadofabroom All the best for swift recoveries to you both!
@theheadofabroom ouch hope it heals soon. I'll be playing horizon zero dawn as i have 5 or six trophys left to mop up for the plat. Cant decide if i should play the 2nd or hogwarts next. Uhmm decisions 🤔
I’m chilling out to Power wash simulator which is helping me additionally, with catching up on tv shows. Apart from that I have Fallout 4 to continue on with.
@theheadofabroom ouch dude ! That's gotta hurt. Speedy recovery
On PS5 i will hopefully be completing Star Ocean Divine Force, once thats done I will start Neptunia Sisters vs Sisters. I've also downloaded Deliver us the Moon from the Extra catalogue so I'm looking forward to trying that.
On switch I will be playing a multitude of games this weekend, I will be switching between Fire Emblem Engage, Bayonetta 3, Pokémon Violet and Splatoon 3.
The wife’s hurt her foot quite badly so I’m on carer duty for the foreseeable, and all the games I want to play are not playable until the 22nd (apart from Hogwarts somewhat which isn’t here for a few days), so…if I get any time at all it’ll probably be Ys 9. I’m on Chapter 5 and it’s a great game, just not where my excitement is sitting right now.
Near the end of dead space now will maybe take my time getting the platinum and not jump straight into new game plus or impossible mode just yet
@theheadofabroom I feel for you buddy. I’ve had nine major ops since being diagnosed with Crohn’s back in 2008 and live in constant pain. Like, say, 5/10 pain, that’s normal to me. But every so often (like last Monday) it’ll spike all the way up to severe 10/10 pain. That’s when I need to get to hospital for IV meds. The MRI showed multiple strictures, so it looks like I’ll be having another bowel resection next week.
I hope your own health issues get better in time and that you’re able to live your life to the absolute fullest.
Im still petting all the cats in Forspoken. I’ll also be playing saints row southwest and no heroes allowed! on the 5 and singularity on the 3.
The Witcher 3 for sure, and my rotation keep going between Assassin's Creed Syndicate, AC Chronicles Russia, Stray, Dragon Quest XI S and Devil May Cry 5 SE. I wish a safe weekend to all you brothers-in-arms. Let's do it!
@theheadofabroom
Ouch, sorry to hear that. I know it’s an expense, but have you considered a controller with back paddles so you can use a different finger for the shoulder button functions?
@KingPev it can't hurt if you cut through the nerve?
Yeah, it wasn't good
Been playing a lot of Monster Hunter Rise so more of that for me. Might play some Persona 4 but MHR has meant it's been left neglected.
@The_Pixel_King Eh, things ebb and flow - I'll never be well enough to work again, but things are generally good enough to have hobbies. You play the hand you're dealt, and I try to use my problems to remind myself of the importance of compassion for others.
@The_Pixel_King well i know enough about crohns to know its rough so i wish you a speedy recovery and get back to your gaming soon..all the best.
@thefourfoldroot1 I'll see how I'm doing in a few weeks, I'm looking at cuts to my benefits and need to replace my wheelchair, so every penny counts at the moment
Finished Alan Wake remastered earlier this week and am currently switching between Infernax and Skul: the Hero Slayer.
Anno Mutationem on PS5 and Hi-Fi Rush on XSX. Have a good weekend all!
I might just sit around this weekend and be excited for Hogwarts and PSVR2.
Six Nations starts this weekend too doesn't it?
Ireland v Wales today. I'll be watching that.
Well I'm coming to the end of my time with the sublime 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚 𝟒 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐧.
Just the final Golden dungeon left to do.
For all it's, deserved, plaudits the cast of 5 can't hold a candle to those of 4. From Kanji's struggling with his sexuality to Yukiko feeling trapped in a life mapped out for her, everything is just so well written.
I'm many decades older than the cast or even, I guess, the targeted audience but I'm not ashamed to say that I'll shed a tear again when the credits roll.
But I know, one day I'll be back in Inaba.
Enjoy your weekend and may whatever you're playing give you even a fraction of the enjoyment P4G has given me this past fortnight.
Forspoken. I’m in the home stretch of the story now and I love this game. I don’t know if it’s because I had low expectations or what but it’s been one of the biggest surprises for me in ages.
Still a fair bit of side content to do as I work towards the platinum - should keep me busy for a few more days until Hogwarts arrives 😁😁😁
On my ps5 it's valiant hearts. Because Hogwarts arrives in Tuesday (with the deluxe edition) I didn't really want to start another big game. It's a nice 2d puzzle platformer game from Ubisoft. In WW1.
On my Xbox I finished the amazing Hi-fi Rush this week. Currently playing One Piece Odyssey. As someone who never watched an episode the game feels incredibly mediocre. It feels like a game for the fans even though they said it wasn't.
With hogwarts and Like a Dragon Ishin on the horizon I'll probably play some in between games next to these 2. Elder scrolls online is one of my go to games when I don't really want to start a new game. Easy to get into and it's basically Skyrim online. So for an on and off game it s a good option. And maybe I'll play a bit of a Yakuza game. Can never play enough of those games. Even though I finished them all once already
Resident evil remaster. Great game!
“ Anyone else sensing the first signs of spring?”
actually , yeah , i am . this is the earliest i ever seen trees bud around here , they started late january and now theyre little pretty bright green leaves , i hope a random freeze doesn’t happen
back on topic though i’m playing sonic frontiers and sonic origins . i’ll always like my blue boi no matter what 👍
@Northern_munkey @LN78 Thanks for the well wishes my friends. I’m grateful to my compassionate fellow gamers who are putting positive vibes out there. Means the world to me.
Strider a excellent reboot of the classic arcade game.yakuza like a dragon.the amazing turn based rpg.and star wars jedi fallen order the wonderful souls like game.watching Michigan wolverines college basketball 🏀.watching legendary sitcoms comedy tv 📺 shows in whats happening.the Jeffersons.good times.sanford and son.saved by the bell.and martin.word up son
More FFXIV. Loving the Dancer role at the mo.
I'll give Hi-Fi Rush a go too because I've heard that it's rather very good.
I’m not playing much this weekend due to work and doing things around the house. However, I did manage to beat a couple of games this week.
First up is Hi-Fi Rush. This is a phenomenal game and it never lost its luster throughout its 10-hour campaign. This is easily the best Xbox exclusive in years, and a fantastic way to start 2023.
Lastly, I completed Goldeneye 007 on the hardest difficulty: 00 Agent. I won’t lie, there are a few missions that made me rage, but I nonetheless prevailed.
I initially didn’t want to play this game because I didn’t want to taint the fond memories I had as a young kid playing this game. With Mario Kart 64 and Super Mario World, those three games are the epitome of my childhood.
Nevertheless, I decided to boot it up and once I started I couldn’t stop. It holds up remarkably well (thank you, emulated version with modern controls). The overall game design is masterclass in my opinion, from the soundtrack, weapons, varied levels, and memorable characters (I’m looking at you, Boris). I’m glad my good memories remain positive after all of this time.
My next game that I’ll be playing and beating (before Hogwarts Legacy) will be Dead Space Remake (Xbox Series X). I started it when the game released last Friday, but I set it aside due to Hi-Fi Rush consuming my thoughts. What I did play simply reminded me how great of a survival horror game this is. I’m looking forward to experiencing this terrifying journey again.
Not sure If I'll play anything. PS5 has barely been on in the last couple of weeks. Really enjoying reading at the moment, current book is Ten survival skills for a world in flux by Tom Fletcher (not the one from McFly)!
I've been watching all the Harry potters to get me in the mood for hogwarts legacy, mainly so I understand the obvious easter eggs that'll be in their ,some of the sfx haven't held up that well and Emma Watson is a really terrible actress.
Peak gaming weekend, some more god of war ragnarok, which I'm about 20 hrs into now and hi-fi rush. I swear hi-fi rush has made me better at god of war, my timings were just spot on today. Hopefully some calcutta cup later as well. Have a good one folks
I started playing Deathloop on Groundhog Day because I am totes clever, so I am playing more of that. Liking it so far!
I set this month aside to play the Shadow Run Trilogy on Game Pass, because I missed it first time around. But I encountered two bugs that set back a lot of progress during the first part of the first game. There are too many good games to play to put up with that.
Psychonauts 2 for me, loving it so far!
Persona 4 Golden - what an absolute banger.
@The_Pixel_King Sending you lots of positivity and a speedy recovery ☺️
OT: I'll probably keep tackling through Far Cry 6 this weekend but that could easily change 😂
For me it’s a Dead Space weekend. Maybe some Bayonetta 2 and Hi Fi Rush.
Lastly if time allows I’ll continue my F1 career in F122
Got one mission left of the Doom: Eternal campaign, so will hopefully find an hour sometime this weekend to get that done. Never really been much of an fps fan but enjoyed it… so damn playable!
Still chugging along with Fire Emblem Engage on Switch and hitting up the links in PGA2K23 on PS5.
I was hoping to play Hades this weekend, but my copy for PS5 hasn't arrived yet. I'll be cracking on with Mass Effect 3 Definitive Edition.
Finishing my platinum run in Diablo 2 Resurrected (currently level 98 and 97% of the way to level 99 of my HC character). Not sure what I'll do after. Maybe just mess around in Witcher 3 until Hogwarts comes out on Tuesday.
After 45 hours of abandoned buggy gameplay when it launched I've finally gone back to Cyberpunk 2077... and it's excellent. Still some weird rag doll physics and the occasional glitch but it looks glorious on PS5 and the gameplay has its hooks in me.
I just finished up my 100% playthrough of Journey to the Savage Planet. Now time to start working my way through the 'Hot Garbage' DLC.
I’ll carry on with god of war Ragnarok.
Alongside my alarming addiction to MH Sunbreak, this year I’ve made a resolution to explore more genres in gaming - especially after how pleasantly surprised I was playing ‘Return to Monkey Island’ and ‘Thimbleweed Park’. (Point-and-Click was not a genre I had any familiarity with previously!)
So ahead of the TU4 update for Sunbreak, this week I have exclusively been playing ‘Inscryption’… and wow! Without spoiling it,
this game is part deck-builder, part rogue-lite and parts RPG - with some fantastic horror elements thrown in for good measure.
I’d highly recommend this game if you like deck builders in general, or even if you enjoy things like Hades. I’d advise you go in completely blind though, as there are some real rug-pull moments throughout the experience and many twists and turns in the ‘story’ (I’ve already said too much ha!)
It only came to Switch late 2022, having been released a year earlier on PC I think…. Received many accolades in 2021 and rightly so!
Short game as well, 8-11 hours probably depending on player skill
If any of the above sounds interesting and you fancy playing something completely unique then I’d recommend highly. It was a solid 8.5/10 for me
Finished my first playthrough of Persona 4 Golden earlier and loved the game overall. Gonna be speeding through NG+ so I can fight the secret boss (which is the last trophy I'll get before platinum). Then will probably move on to Portable or Skywalker Saga
1. Forspoken - PS5
2. One Piece - Steam Deck
3. Inkulinati - PC (i was a kickStarter backer - worked out, they got it done👍)
Still playing Forspoken. I finished the main. Story and now I'm just working on the platinum.
As the world's number 1 Forspoken fan, its a bummer to see the game underperform so hard. But I can't say I'm surprised either. I just hope Luminous adds a new game + before Square Enix sweep this under the rug.
Final Fantasy 7 remake on PS5. Might make time for Sonic Frontiers.
Um first 5 mins of dead space remake lol um I'll stick with the original. I think I'll go with mad max for a day or 2.
Enjoying the story of GoW RöK.
Well aside from Crossing a few monsters off my extinction list in MH Rise I downloaded the Theatrhythm Final Bar demo to give that a try. I've never played a Rhythm game before but I love FF XIII's music.
If I have time I'll continue on in Ragnorok. Also I think I might need to clean my PS5 😱
I’m thoroughly enjoying my first play through of the Dead Space remake. I’m only playing it at night, in the basement with all the lights off and on headphones. Absolutely phenomenal remake of one of my favorite games and game series of all time. Couldn’t be happier with what Motive has done with it!
Red Matter (PSVR)
Destiny 2 Iron banner
Doom (1993) on ps5, Habroxia, Muramasa Rebirth, and TMNT Shredder’s revenge.
WRC 10 working my way through the career... Wife picked up Hitman 3 on disc for me having loved 1 & 2... Looking forward to the new freelancer dlc...
Dead Space and SpongeBob cosmic shake, not sure if you could get any more polar opposite games 🤣
PowerWash Simulator has consumed me i can't stop playing it.
Super Monkey Ball 2: Sakura Edition (Windows Phone) - Nearing the halfway point finally.
Rayman Jungle Run (Windows Phone) - I've had a blast with this and I'm kinda sad to see it coming to an end as well.
Age of Sparta (Windows Phone) - Finally polishing this off tonight, will move back to finish off Tetris when complete.
Still obsessed with monster hunter rise. I think Im almost at the end of the story cutscenes? I just need to beat narwa but there's still so many monster I gotta hunt afterwards, hopefully all of them fun to fight
Disco Elysium, for now.
Banging in a bunch of goals on FIFA 23 pro clubs earlier.
Witcher 3 at some point, I imagine. Finally went to Skellige at Level 22, left a couple of contracts in Velen and Novigrad, but couldn't wait any longer to head on over, it's been 80 hours or something like that 😬
And I started Just Cause 4 recently, for reasons unknown. It looks absolutely terrible, but I fancy some pointless digital destruction, so that was the first thing that stood out on Extra for that.
Post game Hi-Fi Rush, that game continues to be an absolute delight and might be my favorite first party Xbox game since Killer Instinct 2013, but I’m also getting back into Dead Cells since I haven’t really played it since the first DLC, and that Castlevania DLC is coming up. Man…they added a lot to this game since I played last. The other indie character weapons are great!
Might dabble around with Valkyrie Profile Lenneth on PS5 as well.
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion (PS5). I just got to Chapter 10.
Dying light on PS5 looks beautiful! Few trophys left to claim!
I've been juggling between the Dead Space Remake and Salmon Run in Splatoon 3. So I may continue to juggle those two this weekend, may even toss some vr in too? Maybe?
Just traded in GT7 for Majoras Mask on 2DS so probably that. It’s one of the few Zeldas I’ve never played
Half way through Fashion Police Squad, it's really fun but the screen tearing does get in the way.
Went back to playing some Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. Am yet to complete the game (first owned on PS3), it's very challenging on the later races.
My selection is heavily influenced by the fact Ive finally found a solution to xbox having no gyro. Now I can map gyro in xbox games, im back to Forza Motorsport 7, F1 2021 and Assetto Corsa, as these titles really benefit from more subtle steering control.
On Ps5 Ive finally fished judgement and Im waiting for Hogwarts..,
Monster Hunter Rise all weekend for me.
Hogwarts Legacy dropped through my letter box this morning…so I just been reminded to eat 10 hours later!….it’s completely (coughs) magical…Everything I hoped for an more…oh and get well soon @The_Pixel_King
Hi there fellow gamers;
After finishing Halo Infinte´s campaign, and really enjoyed it, I was still craving some FPS action and decided to finally play DOOM Eternal and it is as fun as the previous one.
But then I remember this weekend is the Guilty Gear Strive cross play beta, wich means is GGS weekend on my Series X!
I´m having a blast playing with one of my mains Ky Kiske.
Cheers, stay safe good people and happy gaming weekend to us all
A lot of my friends are playing P4 Golden since it just got rereleased so I decided to power up my Vita for the first time in a few years. Well, the game crashes when I launch it and I've tried everything. I broke down and bought it on my PS5 so this will keep me busy for weeks.
@The_Pixel_King ..Yea it is that good..if you are a Potterhead it is a dream come true…The Avatar creator is deep an even let’s you select your voice..now begone while I fly around the vast grounds of Hogwarts… "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good’
Playing Hi-Fi Rush and RDR2, and gotta say Hi-Fi Rush feels like a breath of freash air. Tango got that Clover studio charm going!!
It’s pretty much all Hi-Fi Rush and Ages of Empires 2 on Series X Game Pass. And PS5 Ive started Devil May Cry 5 on Plus. Its been a great month for service games.
What am I playing this weekend…?…probably the same as last weekend…!!!…
Goldeneye. Finished it on 00 agent, only aztec/egyptian left to complete. Got all the speedrun cheats done aswell so far. Facility took a while due to bad rng and archives was surprisingly easier than I remembered
@The_Pixel_King @theheadofabroom
Take care guys, Im wishing you health and happiness and some relief from your conditions. Im laid up myself at the moment, albeit more temporarily I hope, but I can still use a contoller!
Thanks @Titntin. Same to you my friend. Wishing you nothing but health and happiness! Hope you get better real soon.
Still all in on Fire Emblem Engage so not much on the PS5 this weekend. Planning to go back to Crisis Core once I've finished FE though Dead Space is tempting me...
Reading down the comments this week, just want to send my best wishes to everybody having a hard time with their health.
I'm 7 hours into the new God of War, so will be playing that until I finish it for the next few weeks. It's been awesome so far
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy on Crushing difficulty is my game of the weekend. Finished Persona 4 Golden on Friday, platinum’ed (clean up of gems/trophies) Spyro the Dragon on Saturday & started Uncharted: The Lost Legacy the same night. Uncharted is so much fun. Nice breather from the JRPGs I’ve been mostly playing lately
Trails from Zero on Steam Deck.
I didn't get to play anything. Instead, I broke some of my toes.
