We’ve got a sneaking suspicion a number of you will be descending on a certain Spanish village this weekend, but heck, no worries if you’re not! There’s obviously plenty to play at the moment, so be sure to let us know what’s on your agenda.
Aaron Bayne
I've got a sky high list of DIY tasks to be done this weekend, but of course, I'll be sneaking off to get another session of Diablo 4 under my belt for the open beta, and maybe if I'm lucky a little bit more of Resident Evil 4!
Jamie O'Neill
I was away last weekend, so I've got a plan to get up early to play PS1 Ridge Racer Type 4 on Sunday morning, and to read the recent comments in Push Square's republished review. One of my favourite things about covering retro games is when an archived review gets a new lease of life, because an old game gets re-released on a new console.
Liam Croft
Since I've been through Resident Evil 4 twice already now, I'm returning to my Like a Dragon: Ishin! playthrough. I'm almost at the end now, and it's a fantastic game. I also want to play some PSVR2 titles like Horizon Call of the Mountain and The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners.
Scott McCrae
I'll be playing some WWE 2K23 this weekend, with me being a massive John Cena fan. I might also go through a new game plus a run of Resident Evil 4 remake now that the game is actually out.
Simon Fitzgerald
When I’m not working on PSVR2 mini reviews this weekend, I'll be on Tchia, rounding up all of those pesky collectibles with the aim of reaching 100 per cent and securing that elusive Platinum.
Stephen Tailby
I'm still playing Citizen Sleeper for review, so look out for my thoughts on that soon. Aside from that, I'll also be checking out espionage-'em-up Deceive Inc this weekend.
There wasn't quite as much Resident Evil 4 as expected from our team, but if you are playing this weekend, remember to check out our Resident Evil 4 guide for loads of information on the game. And as always, be sure to let us know what you're playing in the comments section below.

This weekend is ALL about Resident Evil 4 Remake!
I played up to chapter 3 yesterday and it is absolutely astonishing! The details and the gameplay are ... sublime!
I run it on my PS4 Pro with Performance mode settings because if I choose o favor graphics my console is trying to fly off into space!
Is it just me or Lord Saddler in the Remake looks EXACTLY like Mark Strong?! The resemblance is uncanny!
Happy gaming!!!
Coming to the end of 𝐋𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐉𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭.
I have to say it's a definite improvement on it's predecessor in almost every way.
Except the "bug detector" mini game which is about as enjoyable as a root canal without anesthetic. Hope RGG take that behind the barn if there's ever a J3!
I see a lot of discussion that the story isn't as good as the original. I'd have to disagree, the nasty, seedy little bullying case seems to fit the type of work a detective such as Yagumi would do.
Of course, being RGG, there has to be a twist that makes you side eye the plot but, hey, that's what suspension of disbelief is for!
Absolutely loved the "School Stories" sub stories. Perhaps my favourite part of the game. Hop, skip, Rabbito!! Adorable.
However, the main thing that I've taken from the School Stories is that, in Japan, educational background checks don't appear to be a thing! 😏
The "normal" sub stories this time round were, maybe, a little less crazy than the usual faire but none the worse for that.
All in all a bloody good game and what else can you ask for?
Not sure what's up next. Thinking of taking a break from the RGG 'verse after four games on the trot,to avoid burnout. Toying with the idea of trying a platinum run of FFVIIR. Hmm we'll see.
Anyway, enjoy your weekend and your gaming everyone!
Server queues permitting it'll be a weekend of Diablo IV for me. Can't wait!
As a break from narrative games I’m playing Dead Cells to try the Castlevania dlc.
Also Slay The Spire that I picked up on sale a while ago. I’ve never really tried card games so I’m not very good but the hours are falling away.
Probably more Hitman Freelancer, although I'm looking for a more chilled out game to play in-between. I gave Anno 1800 a go while it was on trial, but that just showed me that I'm burned out on that genre, all I won't buy it to carry on.
I had a few hours on Diablo 4, seemed lots of fun - waiting for the full game now. I’ll be playing some Octopath 2, which I am also enjoying.
I played Ice Age: Dawn of Dinosaurs PS3 all day long. 🙂
I finished the game this afternoon.
It was fairly easy, unique 3D platformer with some multiple genre like 2D platformer style, Gradius style, Starfox style, Ratchet & Clank style.
I gave the score 7/10.
Trails to Azure and Resident Evil 4. I’m about to play one of them now and I can’t decide which one to play! Decisions, decisions!
Still playing Hogwarts.
I'll try to finish that this weekend.
I'm also playing through the Witch Queen campaign in Destiny 2.
For the first time ever Gamestop are late shipping an order to me, so no RE4 just yet.
Finished Mass Effect 2 LE again last night but before I play through Mass Effect 3 LE again, I will be playing Resident Evil 4 remake. That and some Diablo 4 beta. Enjoying them both!
annoyed with myself this weekend.
Forgot to pick up MHRise in the sales ready for sunbreak.
downloaded HFW, my cloud save from ps4 days didnt transfer, so have to replay all before DLC
Don't know how FromSoftware hides places right under your nose, you can trek there a million times and never find them. Found a whole new side in Raya Lucaria while I'm happily sauntering in the worlds of Elden Ring. Should wrap up AC Origins real soon, then will focus on Valhalla, GoT or start HFW 2nd run. Meanwhile I'm in my top hat, should've added the threaded cane, feeling elegant in the world of the classic - Bloodborne.
Ive been enjoying Tchia on PS this week. It really reminds me of 'Yonder - the cloud catcher chronicles'. Very chilled and wholesome, if not hugely inventive
I'm enjoying playing Forza Motorsport 7 again on the xbox. I recently got gyro control on Xbox (vai a xim nexus), so I'm revisiting this title as I really appreciate gyro steering (im too cheap to invest in a decent wheel!) Its making me excited for the new motorsport this year...
Hoping to get a few blast's on Resi 4 when kids aren't around. May have to settle for goes on Tchia instead. That's not grabbed me like I hoped it would from initial trailers
My copy of Resident evil 4 is spending the weekend in the back of a Canada post truck so I will continue to pluck away at like a dragon yakuza like a dragon.
Beat Kirby’s Dreamland 2 and BurgerTime Deluxe on NSO last week and Forza Horizon 2 on xbox
Currently playing Persona 5 Strikers on the Switch.
Nothing on PlayStation this week.
Aiming to complete my first run on Death's Door (PS5) then maybe straight into the second (umbrella) run. Wow this game is awesome!
Happy weekend all.
Of course it's Resident Evil 4 Remake on PS5, and just got WWE 2K23 which is actually really good.
Saints and sinners 1, a bit of Cave Digger 2, and might play a bit of Ys 9 if my controllers need charging or I feel like being a bit more social. I was 50hrs in when VR2 dropped and haven’t touched it since.
I’ve been playing
Hogwarts Legacy - completed and platinumed. Love this game! Liked the story, loved the world. Going for the collectibles in the open world got a bit boring but searching every nook and cranny of Hogwarts was amazing. The level of detail and care they’ve put into it is astonishing.
Atomic Heart - wanted to give it a fair shot and played some more but ultimately found myself thinking about other games I would rather play so dropped it.
Tchia - chill, cute and relaxing. About 2 hours in, will probably really enjoy this. Very nice music as well.
GT 7 - psvr 2 of course. Brilliant. Will probably pick up the Moss bundle next week.
Im playing final fantasy 15 royal edition.its a excellent game.the gameplay is amazing and extremely fun.the graphics is really good.so far the story is cool.noctis is a good protagonist.and ignis.promto and gladiolus and cool.the boss fights is excellent.and vanquish.what a game.the gameplay is one of the best ever.sam is a good protagonist.and the graphics is nice the story is cool.and the boss fights is amazing.im watching the ncaa basketball tournament 🏀.watching my boston Celtics 💚🖤 play.watching legendary sitcoms tv 📺 comedy shows in Sanford and sons.good times.the Jeffersons.saved by the bell and the wayans brothers.word up son
Playing Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order PS5 version in prep for Survivor. I could have transferred the ps4 save for the auto-pop platinum, but I'm not lazy so I'm doing the Plat legit again but this time on Jedi Grandmaster Difficulty. It isn't much harder than Jedi master tbh and I've gone a lot better at finding the collectibles because I actually remember where some of the harder ones were that I had to look up a guide for. The game is still an amazing experience and is my favorite Star Wars game to date, but I'm surprised with the performance as I've noticed there are way more frame drops than the PS4 backwards compatibility version running on ps5 that I originally experienced.
Also playing the Witcher 3 on Death March difficulty with A potion-Melee Hybrid build. You can't Auto-pop Witcher 3 trophies which I'm happy for because it gives me more reason to do everything and I mean EVERYTHING, I'm going for a full completionist run this time, clearing every quest I find and all question marks on the map. I never played any of the DLC my first time round so there's still about 40+ hours of new content for me, plus all the new build stuff that unlocks in the Blood and Wine DLC. My first run through on the ps4 version took 70 hours to get the plat but this time I've spent 70 hours and am still in the Novigrad main quest line. I have no rush to finish this anytime soon so I randomly play this every through weeks and instantly get sucked back into the game and I have to force myself to stop so I can play other games. It's in my top 3 games of all time and this time I vow to not get Ciri killed in this playthrough!
Received Resident Evil 4 yesterday so installed and played about 30 mins. Like A Dragon Ishin making steady progress. Brought Terminator Resistance on sale. Battle of the backlog consists of Dead Space, Marvel Midnight Suns, Crisis Core and Evil West
Resident Evil 4 remains king. Just an all time classic at it's best.
I subbed to PS Plus with the discount for one month, so going to give Stray a go. Also downloaded the Ridge Racer retro titles to see how good the emulation is.
Recently bought a Switch Pro controller and found it much more accurate for GoldenEye on the Switch, so might replay a few classic levels. Retro wise, picked up the arcade archives version of The New Zealand Story and the SNK 40th Anniversary collection, which works great in Tate mode on the Switch for a lot of the titles.
I have a number of games I haven’t touched. But instead, I’m replaying Dragons Dogma to finally get that Platinum.
Moving on starting 2 new games: Deliver Us The Moon and Yakuza 0. Besides those, the wonderful Assassin's Creed Origins, and depending of free time, some stages of Ace Combat 7 or Dragon Quest XI S. A awesome era to be a gamer!!
Finished Days Gone last night. It was better than anticipated, not sure why it has taken me this long to play it. Admittedly, the story is a bit too long for my tastes felt dragged out towards the end.
Tonight we’ll be embarking on a journey through Resident Evil 4 Remake. Going to be amazing, surely!
"We’ve got a sneaking suspicion a number of you will be descending on a certain Spanish village this weekend" - that's right, I'm going to dig out my El Dorado DVD box set for a binge watch.
When I'm not watching that, I'll be playing Tchia with my youngest, we've been having a lot of fun with it. Finished the story last night, now we're just roaming around seeing what else we can find.
More Hogwarts Legacy for me. Game is so good. I just love the warm, comfy feeling I have every time I sit down and play it. Have a great weekend everyone!
I’ve been diving into the Diablo IV beta. I’m not a Diablo guy but I’m all in on this one.
Otherwise more Wo Long and Wanted Dead. I’d like to pick up Resi 4 as I never played the original (that and 6 are the only two I never played) and I know I’ll love it, but I’ve got to commit to finishing some games first!
Taking a break from Octopath 2. As fun as it is, I've played nearly 50 hours. Instead this weekend, I will be playing the original FF7. I've been overdue to play it for a long time, especially with FF7 Rebirth out, but after earlier in the week I got spoiled on something I decided to finally jump into it. I can't get too mad as it's a 26 year old game, and if anything I'm glad I did get spoiled because it's pushed me to play FF7 and it's amazing, even if dated. Just got to Nibelheim, which is the furthest I've ever gotten in it. I only ever got out of Midgar playing a few years back
I grabbed ghost wire tokyo and rage 2. Ghost wire is out there to be honest and it looks very nice but its on the back burner for the mo. Rage 2 is mental and i'm amazed at how a ps4 game looks that good and runs at what appears to be 60fps pretty consistently (not sure if it was pro enhanced) and again put to one side for the mo as this weekend is all about steelrising for me. Really enjoying this game now i have a few things like the grappling hook unlocked...have a good weekend folks 👍
@Gremio108 el dorado? Fair play for having the grape fruits to admit to that mate..enjoy your slice of nostalgia if thats the right term for it 👍
I have been playing WRC 10.... Isle of man TT.... Revisiting the levels i kind of rushed through in WoA.... Started the council... on chapter2 now it's quite amusing will do another chapter over w/end see if it's worth sticking with...🤘
@Sam_ATLUS enjoy fighting the Materia Keeper! Learn his enemy skill - Trine. What part of FF7 got spoiled for you?
Ghostwire Tokyo, I'm about a dozen hours in and really liking it so far. Also some Genshin Impact, the gacha gods were on my side and I got Mistsplitter Reforged for Ayaka and Keqing to share so I'll be testing that out. Have a good weekend all!
Mostly going to be Trails to Azure for the most part. Also a bit of PGA2K23 of course.
Resident Evil 4 Remake mostly. If I possible I'll mix in some more Like a Dragon: Ishin and Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror as well but RE 4 is definitely my main focus.
This weekend I’m (still) playing Octopath Traveler II (Nintendo Switch). As soon as I thought I was getting fatigued after 70+ hours, I took a two day break from the game and felt recharged to tackle more stories. That statement alone has this as my current GOTY.
As of right now, I have completed two character stories and working on my third. I’m still taking my time—grinding, doing side quests, and exploring. In fact, I just discovered a few secret locations to unlock other jobs. I’m sure many people know about these already, but it was surprising to me considering I haven’t looked up any information in walkthroughs or by word of mouth. It was such a rewarding experience.
This is a game that simply keeps on giving. Hopefully, Square Enix will do the same and release the game on Xbox/Game Pass. OTII is a game that needs more attention because I truly believe it’s one of the greatest JRPGs of all time.
Aside from OPII, half of my attention will be focused on Resident Evil 4 Remake (Xbox Series X). I haven’t played this game since its original release approximately 16 or 17 years on the Nintendo GameCube and subsequently the PS2.
With it being so long since I’ve played this game, the two hours I sunk into the game last night has practically been a fresh experience for me. I’m on chapter 3 and it’s been fantastic so far. That said, I have several fond memories I will never forget, but I have forgotten when and where those moments occur, so I’m curious to see how it makes me react when I come across them again.
It is RE4 for me, first time playing it so a fantastic experience so far, I can see why this is so highly regarded I really liked 2 but this one is more on the action side so more up my street which is why I quite liked 5!
Don't forget the clocks go forward tonight, I could be gaming until day break
Happy gaming folks!!
Diablo 4 beta, great fun so far...
next week is Resi 4 when i can buy it..
I'm working today but hoping to squeeze in some more metroid prime (just got the wave beam) and hopefully start resident evil 4. I've never played it, despite picking up a Wii copy about a year ago. Cant wait to try a another classic. Have a good one folks
God of war ragnarok, still early in the beginning of the game but the game already has tearjerker moment, poor fenrir
Switch - Borderlands 1 and Metroid Prime Remastered!
3DS - Still making my way through Pokemon Red.
PS5 - Resident Evil 4 Remake! It'll be my first time playing RE4. Also GTA Online tonight with friends!
PC - Nothing on PC this weekend.
Have a good weekend everyone!
Finally finished Elden Ring, felt like I'd run a marathon.
Going between The Ascent and Far Cry 4 this weekend.
Replaying Killzone Shadow Fall
VR: Moss Book II, C-Smash VRS
Still working on Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana. I believe I am nearing the end. It continues to be great and I hope the end sticks the landing.
If I finish the game before the weekend is over, then I will start Resident Evil 4.
Tchia I ended up saving this for the weekend as I kept getting distracted before starting it every evening so far.
Football Manager Console I won the league and gained promotion finishing with 112 points and I was undefeated for 34 games Loan striker had 35 goals. So I'm well ahead of schedule for 'survive in league two and eventually become established' all within the measly budget restrictions which was a board order. Now in league one my expectations were survive and become established, but as the season drew near the board said 'finish mid table' out of nowhere with a wage budget of '£42,000 & transfer budget of a whopping £120,000, a transfer budget that I mostly used on paying off and replacing my awful staff 😁 my aim is to keep promoting my own youth even if they are 1-2 star current rating, and relying on loans, and this seems to make signing great prospects easier, as I've signed a randomly generated 19 year from Woking (£61k total) who is already playing like he will definitely be the best player in the league. I'm waiting for the wheels to fall off my momentum this season but if they do, I've got my youth to build on.
I'll also get back to a chapter on Judgment as I've been neglecting it. Got back to watching Tokyo Vice this week though, and it's basically Judgment the TV show but slightly different. The similarities are amazing though! Perfect pairing.
That was long, even for me, woops 😁 have a great weekend gaming, all 🎮🎉
Res4 like mostly everyone I'm guessing
@Tsushima terminator resistance is decent. Bit rough and low budget but fun
@Relygon days gone story definitely went on too long. Dragged towards the end
On PS5 i will be playing Hogwarts Legacy, Atelier Ryza 3 and Octopath Traveler 2. I'm also tempted to downlaod Deep Rock Galactic as it looks quite interesting.
On Switch I will be focusing on completing Fire Emblem Engage as the story DLC is just a couple of weeks away.
Potentially RE4 and Diablo 4.
I did start Tchia last week as well, got Storyteller on Switch, would like to finally give Paranormasight a go since I bought it, and soldier on in Aegis Rim as well. RE4 is what I want to play, but we’ll see what life lets me do.
I completed Dead Space Remake and loved every tense second of it. It was way more tense than I remember it being.
I also tried Tchia and after a shaky start, Im actually enjoying it quite a bit now. I’ve mostly been flying around the island gathering the million collectibles. It’s a good ‘chill’ game and it’s nice to see some bright colours after Dead Space 😁
Finally, RE4 Remake arrived this morning and I’m about to start my first playthrough. It must be 15 years since I played the original so I’m looking forward to seeing what I remember.
The original Destroy all humans and its sequel, they're just 4 bucks each on the ps store right now. And even though I'm dying to play the RE4R, I'll excercise some restraint and will pick it up during the Halloween month.
Far cry 5 actually.
I gave Jedi Fallen order a try but I want really feeling it. I've hit a difficulty wall in Wild hearts so I might pause that and just try to clean up trophies in Ragnorok and continue FF7 Remake on PS5. Just waiting for Burning Shores 🤤
Gravity Rush 2. I'm not sure why it took me this long to play it. I loved the 1st game so much, and the sequel is making me fall back in love all over again. The art and design of the world is just gorgeous. The music is great. I'm loving all the new characters and story so far. Kat's movements and animations are so meticulous, it's just satisfying to watch her fly around and free fall. There's literally nothing like how this game uses gravity to make you traverse the world. It's so fun and freeing. Side quests in the 1st game sorta felt like mini games designed to let you play with the gravity mechanics. Here they still do the same but they have a little more side stories with fun dialogue. Combat is arguably the weakest part of the series and tbh it hasn't changed that much. But I don't have any major complaints. I like spamming throws all over enemies. And her gravity kicks are fun to use even if it can get a little repetitive
Now I'm sad all over again this is most likely the last we'll ever see from this series. It is absolutely up there with Yakuza 0, Nier Automata, and Persona 5. And deserved to blow up the way those 3 did in 2017
@Gremio108 El Dorado! Showing your age there!
I would be playing the RE4 Remake but Amazon has been dropping the ball lately on pre-orders arriving on launch day, so it'll be until next week before it arrives.
Really should hop over to Best Buy for my po's.
So I'll be playing Splatoon 3 and maybe some more VR with some friends.
@rusty82 Indeed. When you think you’re nearing the end there’s an additional 10 hours story content awaiting.
All in all the game was good but they could’ve cut some filler content from the story or at least made it as side quests.
Been playing Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy ... and the graphics and storyline, gripping, played 3 hours already ... taking a break with Fortnite.
FFXIV Shadowbringers.
Putting aside Hogwarts Legacy for a few days to play a bit of Diablo IV open beta, which has been fun.
The incredible increasing hard Metal Gear Solid: Virtual Missions stand alone disc for the PSX and shots of vodka during the simulated matches in Smackdown 2: Know Your Role while Queen & Rolling Stones play on my super radical CD player.
Finally getting around to Spongebob The Cosmic Shake.
Really great 3D platformer, but man, they're making references that I didn't know were a thing. when the heck did Plankton get a pet worm?
Resi 4 remake. 10/10 for me and i haven't even reached the castle yet... Awesome game!
Metroid prime remastered on switch
Just recently bought a Steam Deck, so will be playing Trails in the Sky 3 and checking our AC 1 + plus some F1 22
Resident Evil 4 Remake, WWE 2K23, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
a Triple D weekend for me, Diablo and Dungeons & Dragons.
DIablo IV Beta (Series X) So hyped to give this game a try. It's one of my most anticipated games this year.
Dungeons & Dragons (Tabletop) My group is getting back together this weekend for a other session. Just started Curse of Strahd a few weeks ago and made it to the village of Barovia.
@Northern_munkey I don't actually own it, more's the pity. Don't know if it's even on DVD, but I'd imagine the definitive way to experience it would be a pirate copy from a Benidorm market
@ZoSo Haha, yeah I guess I am. Got vague memories of it being on telly at my grandparents house. Even as an innocent ankle-biter I think I could sense the naffness
@Gremio108 too late you've already told us all you have the boxset..no putting that genie back in the bottle..🤣
@Northern_munkey I've not stopped eating paella since 10am
Obviously Bingo
Just finished Dead Island Riptide so I’m all ready for DI2 next month. Going to turn my attention to Battlefield: Bad Company next since I’ve never played it and they’re delisting it next month.
I’ll have to make time but still absorbed in PSVR2, I’m sure I’ll go back to flat screen gaming at some point but for now being lost in VR is absorbing.
So that’s GT7 (my go to) and I’ve just paid to upgrade Saints and Sinners ps plus to the tourist edition to get the free ps5 upgrade. Worth £7.99 all day long.
Let’s just say I was very please when I found a snake in a box
Uncharted: Golden Abyss (Vita) - Need to resume chapter 3.
Hitman GO (Windows Phone) - Haven't played in about a week now, need to get back to it.
AC Black Flag, just getting all the elite equipment before I go on a rampage and maybe move on a little with the story, still about 50% through the story and only one fort left to defeat.
Yakuza Kiwami 2. I’m having a blast with it. Almost done with the main story. I prefer it over 0 & 1.
I’m playing RE4, Wo Long Fallen Dynasty, and TMNT.
