February has crept up on us, huh? This is looking like an unusually stacked month in the video game industry, with several high profile releases plotted. Better clear those backlogs quick, then, eh?
Aaron Bayne
This weekend I'm planning to wrap up the original DOOM, in my journey to complete every one of the games on the run up to DOOM: The Dark Ages. I'm having more fun with the OG than I thought I would as someone not typically interested in older retro gaming experiences.
Ken Talbot
In the run up to Monster Hunter Wilds, I've been revisiting Monster Hunter World. Re-adjusting to the rhythm of bonking angry pickles and flying cotton ball bats with my big hammer. Perhaps I'll learn to be good with any sort of projectile weapon? Perhaps not. Add in some Tekken 8 online in between hunts!
Sammy Barker
I'm catching up on all my gacha games, and this weekend I'll be focusing on finishing the Fall Guys-style event in Zenless Zone Zero. There's too much talking as always, but the gameplay with the Bangboos is surprisingly fun.
Stephen Tailby
I'll once again be checking out a couple of indie games for review purposes, but I'll hopefully be able to make time for more Hitman. I've yet to start the third story campaign, and I'm really looking forward to diving back in.
That's what's keeping us occupied this weekend, then, but what about the rest of you? You know the drill: let us know in the comments section below.

After beating Castlevania Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness I am going to seriously put some time in Castlevania 64. I have researched how to get the good ending, and I will put some effort in this journey!
On the side I will play the amazing Guilty Gear Strive and Wolfenstein The Old Blood which is my favorite of the modern Wolfenstein games (The New Order and The New Colossus)
Happy gaming everyone!
just stated the latest season of Diablo 4, that might take two weeks based on my gaming time for that. otherwise Warriors Orochi 4 from time to time.
Finished up the plats on Final Fantasy XIII and The Crew 2 this week, so back to Suicide Squad this weekend for the last few trophies on that… and then I’ll finally be able to make a start on 2025’s schedule 😅
I'm playing Indiana Jones, Ninja Gaiden 2 Black and Sniper Elite Resistance on Game Pass. I just had Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 steelbook dispatched roll on Tuesday
I'm going to give Cyube VR a go on PSVR2. I'd never heard of it before yesterday but it looks amazing.
I also just got myself a 1TB Oled Steam Deck, so I'll probably put some time into the likes of Monomyth to scratch that King's Field itch.
Edit: And of course, Helldivers.
Greetings fellow gaming enthusiasts. For me it’s a Titanfall 2 kinda weekend. It really holds up. I haven’t played an FPS for a long time and this is satisfying my craving. I wish you all a joyous Saturday and Sunday (weekend)
I'll be wielding a katana in 2077 and wielding a longsword in 1403 in Cyberpunk 2077 and Kingdom Come Deliverance
Dragon Quest III HD-2D: Enjoying a truly old school RPG that doesn't handhold but isn't incredibly difficult either - with the caveat that you need to prepare. The backgrounds and character models are really well thought out and the story, while simple, is nonetheless engaging. It's a great time.
I'll be playing Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess. I like the game, but I've set myself the limit of just doing one level per day, as the overall experience does tend to stress me out quite a bit...!
I'd also like to return to Luigi's Mansion 2 on Switch at some point during the weekend.
Wishing everyone a good weekend!
I’ll be playing banishers, I’m liking it so far even though the gameplay side of things kinda suck. I’ve been playing games that I’ve been meaning to play for years recently, I beat blue stinger a few days ago so I think I’m gonna play either snatcher or omikron next.
Metal Slug 3 with a few cans before the football.
I’ve abandoned everything else except Subnautica Below Zero (underwater survival / base building if you didn’t know). I wanted to play Ragnarok, but it won’t let me! So addictive!
Oh, and taking a look at the video game magazine site mentioned on the site a couple of days ago (Digital Archive at VGHF Library)
Have a great weekend folks!
Arma reforger as my main game.
After the news Killer Instinct may come to PS, I dugged out the old trusty Gameboy and playing some classics on it like Killer Instinct, TMNT2 and Super Mario Land 2.
Have a great weekend.
The Plague Tale Requiem - finished and platinumed. What a game, great story that had me hooked from start to finish, even though it was my second playthrough. Love it!
Life is Strange Double Exposure - its been on my wishlist and its on sale so decided to get it. I'm a bit torn. I'm enjoying it a lot, feels great to play a Life is Strange game again but I really wish they left Maxs (and Chloes) story where it was. It was a great end to it. This game is not at the same level as the first LiS or Before the storm, which are amazing imo, but its not a bad game in itself at all. Just wish they would've gone with new characters as it really doesnt add anything to have Max in it and the game would have been better for it imo.
Sniper Elite Resistance - I've only played the first mission on my series S and enjoyed it. It looks a bit ***** though and its glitchy but its fun, more fun than I expected it would be as I dropped Sniper Elite 5 rather quick. We'll se how this one holds up for me but good start.
Eternal Strands - its on gamepass, so gave it 1-2 hours before giving up. Didnt like the combat among other things, and there are better games to spend my time with.
Have a great weekend 🙂
I'll be spending more quality time with Estelle and Joshua in Trails in the Sky this weekend. Looking forward to reading more sarcastic in-game messages about empty treasure chests 😁
Happy gaming, folks.
gt7 and baldurs gate 1 for me, its archaic but a really charming game
@DrVenture69 I played Below Zero last year, and it was so good, my personal game of the year in 2024. I probably spent about half of my playtime just tinkering about with my base.
Almost exclusively Diablo 4 new season. On my way with second character
In my restless dreams I see that town, Silent Hill. What a remake!!
I’ve got the next few days off work, so I’m looking forward to getting AC:Revelations platinum after getting Brotherhood’s last week - several years late 🤣. Apart from that I’m gonna head back into Ace attorney investigations collection; to get the clean sweep. Happy gaming everyone.
Currently getting my back side handed to me by Black Bear Guai in Black Myth Wukong. Really enjoying the game, it is tough but fair & the deaths (which are plenty) don't feel cheap. Looks and runs great on the Pro too!
Happy gaming folks
Trying to plat the amazing Stellar Blade but that Brute boss REALLY kicks ass big time. What a game though !
Trying to mop up the final Achievements in Indy Jones before I do another story run through.
Also blitzing through the lovely Crew Motorfest which is a joy to play and get lost in.
Have a great weekend guys and gals ❤️
Rolled credits on my latest KCD playthrough in the week so now I'm patiently waiting for KCDII
I might check out Sniper Elite Resistance or play a bit of Hogwarts Legacy 🤷♂️
@Ravix Playing Sniper Elite now. It's very nice.
This weekend I'm taking a break from video games. So no Wild Arms 3, Okami HD, or any games. I just want to chill and relax, enjoying the weather and some delicious foods.
But a couple of days ago i replayed Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge on PS3 and both games reminds me how i love fast pace action games that respect my time.
Have a good weekend everyone 🍻

I’ll be playing a bit of Going Under which i recently started but my controller is just starting to get some stick drift
I can’t afford to replace it so I’ll just have to put up with it
@MadCaptain2207 I loved Kunitsu-Gami! My favorite game of 2024. Enjoy!
Well well I am all in on Ninja Gaiden 2 Black and also working slowly though Silent Hill 2
I’ve also got Sonic Frontiers on the side which is frustrating at times. I may need to solve some of those island pieces with a guide.
Lastly I am jumping in and out of The Ascent which I started on GamePass but never finished. So now it’s on Premium I plan on not making the same mistake and playing it through even if slowly.
Finally beat Nine Sols, after a couple of weeks getting smoked by the final boss! Practice makes perfect, finally got her done after what felt like 100s of attempts. Proud to say I didn’t drop the difficult and managed to beat her on Standard/normal mode! It was a hard lesson though in terms of just how important exploration is…. And my lack of this meant being severely underpowered upon reaching ‘the point of no return’ - which lead to an even rougher ride with the last boss. An amazing game though, like a 2D-Sekiro. If you love MV titles and Souls difficulty, Nine Sols is an easy recommend.
Now playing the excellent Loco-Motive, a point-click game that clearly wears its Lucasarts influences on its sleeves. About a third through and loving it - the VA work and art style is really great. Maybe a tad on the easy side, although a few puzzles have had me scratching my head for a bit. Maybe feels a bit easy due to Lorelei being the last game I played from this genre, which was remarkably tough!
After Loco-Motive I’m torn between starting the new Ender Lillies sequel or instead Rise of Golden Idol…‘can’t quite decide!
Just started BELOW, a dark and atmospheric dungeon crawler. Reviews are a bit mixed, but its been enjoyable so far.
Finished Brothers a Tale of Two Sons last week. Excellent game and an easy platnium. I'm now running around as Sir Dan in Medievil 2 battling the undead and the real enemy .... the camera and controls. Still having a blast.
Enjoy everyone
Sniper Elite Resistance and Turbo Overkill (PS5)
Trophy clean up for Stella blade including new game plus run.
Maybe move onto either Mario and Luigi Brothership or Zelda echoes of wisdom
I have got back into Shin Megami Tensei V in a big way so probably that for most of the weekend!
I was going to play Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, but then I found out it's the Sigma version. I cried hysterically, and then I started my first playthrough of Baldur's Gate 3.
Hot.
Damn.
As we all know, Baldur's Gate 2 is the best game ever made. I am a reasonable man, truly. But, and this could not be true for the fine people on PushSquare, you disagree, you are a silly kobold.
I have a very busy life, demanding job, family and studies. I waited for over a year to play this because I didn't want to play a couple of hours a week. Now, I don't have too. I'm going all in!
Larian is not the Bioware of days gone past. This is not a sequel to Baldur's Gate 2. But my god it's such as refined D&D rpg. As a D&D player I love the player agency, the exploration and the playful turn based combat. Swen is truly the gaming hero we don't deserve.
Hello there fellow gamers.
This weekend I´ll continue to play Ninja Gaiden 2 Black and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1. I´m in a NG phase right now and I´m loving every second of playing both games.
Also want to go back and finish Metaphor Refantazio and Star Wars Outlaws, before the big games of 2025 start coming.
Cheers everyone and happy gaming weekend to us all
@TimeDelayedGamer I think you might have mentioned it was good to me! I’d some negative comments, and you put me right . The first one was cracking and I’m absolutely loving the second. The next one is going to be a day-one purchase
I smashed out the entirety of Astro Bot in 5 days this week. Just have a few bits left to find, but then I might give Suicide Squad solo a go.
Completely hooked on Nioh 2 ^__^👹
Unfortunately, I’m on my way to my aunt’s funeral. Not much gaming this weekend. Peace up to the gamers, man! ✌🏾
For the 4th weekend running still on wukong. Loving these Asian developed games!
@AhmadSumadi hope it goes as well as a funeral can bro.
@Overmind I watched some videos that showed this Black version doesn't have the Buddha and Liberty statue fight from Sigma 2. But they still have Ayane, Momiji, and Rachel sections. It also has tons of blood options while Sigma 2 doesn't.
In the upcoming update, KT said they listened to fans feedback so they possibly gonna add more enemies count but lower their health + more costumes.
After reading all the comments I see Some sick game’age going down today folks! Enjoy while I work until 7pm 🥱. Have a good one ladies
This weekend I’m still playing Unicorn Overlord, and still completely enamored with it. I think I’m roughly 75% of the way to completion. My goal is to wrap up the platinum trophy within the next couple of days. The game does have you grind a bit, but thankfully you can “skip” battles — not experiencing the animations and battle scenes — and still get experience points. It helps save a ton of time because some of the battles can be time consuming, lasting anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour.
Meanwhile, I’ve set a New Year gaming resolution for myself (and trying to consistent with it) - browse the PSN, or any other digital store front where I play my games, and try out new games regardless of word of mouth or not. Doing so, I came across a game called Bloodwash. It’s a retro, PS1-era first person horror game. It’s essentially a video game form of a slasher film. I found it to be a pretty solid two hour experience and a nice palate cleanser. Moreover, I even got the platinum trophy, which I hadn’t expected.
@PuppetMaster
Thanks! I'll keep an eye on the updates.
Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana
I haven't gotten to play it a whole lot so far even though I started it earlier in the week, but I have enjoyed what I've gotten to play so far. I look forward to actually getting to dig into it properly at some point this weekend.
@mac_da_man Double Exposure will probably grow on you as it goes on. I agree that bringing Max back into the series set up the game to make people dislike it. I personally liked Double Exposure far more than Before the Storm.
For my gaming this weekend, I’ve got myself a birthday party in a bit, so we’ll be having multiplayer games galore. Probably some Towerfall, Mario Party, Tetris, etc. And then tomorrow… we’ll see if there’s any presents… If not, I think I’ll waffle around with Tetris Effect and Marvel Rivals with friends as a farewell to my vacation time.
I beat Castlevania: Symphony of the Night- I enjoyed the game though the second castle really doubles down on crap enemy placements and absurd damage numbers. 8/10.
on a side note: Netflix released season 2 of Nocturne and nobody has spoken about it. It is really good and Netflix haven't even bothered to market it.
I now am playing Ninja Gaiden 2 Black- I'm on chapter 2 and this combat is so good! We truly did lose excellent combat games for a replacement which is nowhere near as fun in the Soulslike genre. Hopefully NG4 and Phantom Blade 0 are successful enough to re-start something with character action games. Also more games should add running on water as a mechanic. Make it this generations Grappling Hook!
Playing Anno Mutationem on Plus. Really enjoying it. Great atmosphere.
Also jumping into Star Wars Tales from the Galaxies Edge. Not the biggest Star Wars fan, but when you are actually inside the universe you can see what the big deal is.
I finished RoboCop, it was not bad, did the GT7 weekly races last night, and I need something big to get my teeth into, Mad Max doesn't look like it will cut it, so I picked up Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, ultimate edition for £38, a bargain I think. That's downloaded overnight, and I shall start exploring that world today 🙂
Finished Ys X: Nordics and Little Nightmares this week. Now I'm playing Titanfall 2, picked it up for £3 in a recent sale just to do the story mode.
Just completed 100% trophies for Uncharted 2. So will be moving onto 3 now. Start with Brutal difficulty, then the speed run and misc trophies. Also doing Tomb Raider Definitive Edition multiplayer boosting with a few like minded hunters. Makes the grind slightly more tolerable when you can party chat whilst doing it. Happy Gaming All.
I will be playing stellar blade and ender Magnolia in between the six nations matches. Have a great weekend everybody!
I'm a bit over 30 hours into DQIII now. Boy, is this game a ton of fun!! What wasn't fun was my controller ceasing to hold a charge. It was working fine when I finished Metaphor. But when I started DQIII, I could only play for about 2 1/2 hours before the console said my controller's out of juice. What surprised me about this is that the controller is only about 2 1/2 years old. Hope the new one I picked up lasts longer!!
Still going through Ninja Gaiden II Black on PS5. Haven't gotten to play it as much as I'd like but what I have played has been awesome so far. Wouldn't say it's the 'definitive' version of NG II, still think that title goes to the 2008 original, but any version of this game is still upper echelon of the action genre.
Shhhh, I'm sniping.
Popping Nazi skulls in sweet slow motion.
Happy gaming, friends 👍
Finally start Dragon Age Origins.
I've been going between Monster Hunter World and FF7 Rebirth. I haven't touched World since it released in 2018 but the Wilds beta got me to return.
I'm a couple hours into what is my first of likely 3 or 4 playthroughs of Lords Of The Fallen. Very much enjoying it thus far. Great Soulslike that has some really cool ideas in it. Happy gaming this weekend everyone!
Backlog challenge accepted! I am going to check out The Quarry before all the new releases pile on. It has been sitting on my shelf for ages, and I really liked Until Dawn. So let’s give it a go!
A need a small game after finally finishing up Veilguard last night, which I really enjoyed. There is so much coming in 2025 that I want to play that it makes my head spin. So I am going to ease in with a short backlog game first……….
@breakneck Nocturne Season 2 really is great, and I want to join you in giving it some love in the hope that everyone will watch it.
I really love where they took Maria’s story in particular:…………
I’ve finally put Eiyuden Chronicles to one side after 80 hours. Was an amazing game.
Just started Dragon Age The Veilgaurd and while after 3 or so hours it hasn’t gripped me yet, graphically it’s a pretty impressive game. The combat is decent too but so far the exploration is rather linear.
Also gonna play some 4-player co-op Generation Zero which I think is a hugely underrated game.
Metaphor Refantazio and Lollipop Chainsaw.
God of War and WRC Generations on PS5
Age of Empires 4 and Sniper Elite Resistance on Series X
My Kingdom Come 2 copy just arrived today, I'll be deep into that for the foreseeable future.
Still playing through Fantasian Neo Dimension. I'm about 35 hours in now. Really neat game.
Another weekend closer the MH Wilds Beta! will play more Unicorn Overlord this weekend, trying to finish it before Feb 28.
Enjoy your gaming weekend folks!
@IntrepidWombat This is on my 'Play later this year list'
It reminds me of a PS2 era game with the art style, though the combat is a little bit like the Trails games without the movement. Some of the bosses can be pretty darn tough, but it's been really enjoyable.
Decided to go a bit retro this weekend. I'm impressed with how well Gran Turismo holds up.
I´ll continue playing Dark Souls 3 - Jesus, I hate swamp areas in FS games!
When not playing DS3, I´ll be helping my sons with Astrobot.
Also looking forward to derby Arsenal vs Man City tomorrow along with darts masters in Milton Keynes.
Have an excellent weekend, gamers!
PlayingZelda wind waker hd on deck and Ni No Kuni 2.Haven’t play any game on ps5 recently ( bought few game on last sale(RE remake trilogy,Titanfall 2)but just not in the mood.
Im patiently waiting for Monster Hunter wild. Once Wild releases,i dont care about all others game 🤣
@Bentleyma how did you still have this kind of classic console? It’s almost impossible to find here in my places( well at least the one that working and in good condition ) and based on the pictures, yours looks like in mint condition
Rise of the Tomb Raider & Hotline miami
Beat Final Fantasy XV a couple days ago and now I'm three trophies shy from the platinum; the expert skill ones...
After getting the plat, I'm gonna continue my Final Fantasy journey by essentially going backwards as I have: next on deck is XIII - with some mod support - then XII and X on my PS5. Not being a huge turn-based guy, I'm hoping playing in reverse order will help me acclimate to the style.
Regardless, I'm excited for the road that's ahead of me! If anyone has any tips, insights, or whatever-have-you about the series, let me know!
Microsoft Wordament (Android) - Dailies and Adventure mode as usual.
Gravity Guy (Windows Phone) - Done with this for now.
Microsoft Minesweeper (Windows Phone) - Still chugging along with this as well.
The greatest football game of all time; NFL 2K5!!
@amatmulisha I found it on eBay. You can get one for a decent price.
Playing RDR2 and enjoying it. The AI is so damn impressive, I haven’t seen games made this generation really match it so I’m even more excited about the advancements GTA6 will make.
@thefourfoldroot1 what kind of game is it?
Still enjoying Banishers a lot .
Not had much gaming time so far this weekend.
What little I have had has been on the Shadow part of Sonic x Shadow generations after finishing the sonic campaign.
Shadows part is way better than I expected. Loads of fun.
Bought Dragon age veilguard to try. May start that today to test it out
@breakneck
Combat is 2d sword/gun/grenade/dodgeroll -quite easy so far; explore a small future Tokyo type world, collect scraps to upgrade kit. There’s a good narrative with interesting characters and quests; a few minigames. It’s pixel art - which I usually hate but this is very attractive.
I’ve only played a few hours so likely more to it, but really enjoying it so far. Given it’s free on Extra i’d definitely give it a go.
Also, no missable trophy challenges and you can come back and complete everything after you’ve finished the main story. Which is all good.
I'm finishing off Dead Island 2 which I bought on sale last Black Friday. Getting the platimum trophy today. Great game!
Yesterday I finished the Wood Side Apartments of SH2 Remake and started BG&E 20th anniversary edition.
For the today I think I’ll be carrying on with BG&E and getting a few village quests done on MH Rise
I did some more on Wo-Long but have binned it off at DLC 3 final boss. I really enjoyed the game but its beyong stupid that the final boss is tuned for NG+++ even on your first playthrough. I though about farming the higher difficulties for some 6 star gear but its ultimately not worth the time investment just to kill 1 extra boss.
Other than that I am revisiting LoU Part 1 ahead of finally playing Part 2 ready for april.
Well here we go with another interesting WAYP. The week was some good fun games all around. Mostly Trails Through Daybreak, Emio and Metaphor with some Mario and Luigi and WWE2K24. Didn’t beat Metaphor or Emio but got a super good idea for a setup to beat it this week. Kinda realized hey I can make a GOTY list whenever I want I mean look at GDC they do GOTY awards in March of all things. Most of the weekend was spent with Super Mario Party Jamboree and WWE2K24. Jamboree honestly still may be the best Mario Party recently no joke it’s a lot of fun and so pretty. The mini games are peak too. As for WWE2K24 it’s also quite fun even if it’s funny seeing some of the outdated looks for wrestlers like Raquel Rodriguez or Liv Morgan but hey that just means WWE2K25 is gonna be even better hahahaha. Rest of the weekend I’m thinking is gonna be some Space Marine 2. Got a friend I’ve been playing that with and we got a shot to beat that game I think so I’m pretty hype to get that one taken care of. Otherwise I’m thinking this week is mostly gonna consist of some Trails Through Daybreak, Emio, Dawntrail, Metaphor, YS, Mario and Luigi Brothership, Super Mario Party Jamboree, Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake and WWE 2K24. Try to start Donkey Kong Country Returns HD and Dynasty Warriors Origins for real like on the day off. Try to preorder Clair Obscura: Expedition 33 and DOOM The Dark Ages too. The wrestling thing this week being the WWE Royal Rumble. The Women’s and Men’s Royal Rumble matches were amazing and full of awesome appearances like Alexa Bliss and Nikki Bella and AJ Styles and Joe Hendry. And that Cody Rhodes match was utterly insane too and I loved it. Even the Tag Team Champiomship Match with DIY had some absolute banger energy. Anime of the week gotta go to Dragon Ball Daima and Shangri La Frontier and Solo Leveling and Okitsura and Sakamoto Days and 100 Girlfriends. They all continue to be absolute bangers as excellent winter choices. Podcasts of this week gotta go to Castle Superbeast, Big Think Dimension, Into The Aether, RPGsites Tetracast, Minnmax, Jeff Gerstmann, Kit and Krysta, Last Stand Media, Easy Allies, Second Wind, Nextlander, Cultaholic Wrestling, Weapon Wheel Podcast and Remap Radio. As always yall stay safe, be cool to each other. Have a totally amazing weekend and of course Happy Gaming.
