Typical. You spend six years waiting for just one Batman game to turn up, only for two games based on DC’s caped crusader to arrive at once. Yes, 2022 is very much shaping up to be a blockbuster year for Bruce and his Dark Knight alter ego, with Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League both making their way to PlayStation consoles. These upcoming titles received new story trailers during Saturday’s DC Fandome digital event, but how much did they make us salivate?
That’s the question Aaron answers in today’s Push Square’s video, analysing the new information each trailer revealed and dishing the dirt on which game you should be excited for most. Whether tearing it up as Task Force X in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League or battling as part of the Bat family in Gotham Knights, one thing’s for certain: there’s more superhero greatness here than you can throw a Batarang at.

Still slightly concerned about both games.
One being a potential “forced” co-op experience and the other a live service game.
I hold out hope based on both developer track records but I can’t help but feel worried.
If SS is a live service game and plays like Anthem and Outriders I'm in. Not a huge fan of playing co-op games. I'm all about the solo story experience, but I'll def. be keeping closer eye on this one.
If Suicide Squad isn't a live service game, its a day one purchase for me.
“You spend six years waiting for just one Batman game to turn up…”
Yet, as it stands, Batman may not be in either game.
Suicude Squad is set in the Arkham-verse where Batman may no longer exist as we know him
Gotham Knights devs have claimed repeatedly that Batman is dead. Although I wouldn’t count on it. I liked the theory that he is secretly disguising himself as the Penguin (played by the suspiciously gravelly voiced Elias Toufexis, most known as Adam Jensen in Deus Ex.) Which has some parallels with some stories the comics.
@Jacko11 yeah me too. The beauty of the Arkham games was that sense of isolation - increasingly lost by the time knight dropped. Chucking co-op and live service into the mix tempers my excitement considerably. I really want these to be good though
I want Injustice 3. 😔
@Splat Nah, take a trash Injustice movie instead!
@Splat I've been telling people for a while now not to get their hopes up for Injustice 3 any time soon. There's just too much going on with Warner Bros being sold to Discovery, the licensing and rights issues may just be too much for Netherrealm to take on right now with everything so uncertain. I hope we get it, eventually, but I wouldn't count on it being NRS' next game.
I loved the vibe of both. More excited for SS depending on (hoping) its not live service. I'll probably pick up both eventually
I had no idea Suicide Squad is going to be a live service game. That stings. Still keeping an eye on it though because I love Rocksteady. Arkham Asylum and City are incredible. Knight is really solid too. I really like the new angle with SS I just hope it being a live service game doesn’t ruin its potential.
@RogerRoger batman has always been known as the "dark knight"..what point are you trying to make here?
@Splat eww , a marvel vs dc is what we all really waiting for.
@RogerRoger ooops my bad..i thought you were one of those rampaging snowflakes for a moment...
@RogerRoger whoops. Our sincere apologies.
