Topic: Use of two SSD's with the same console

Hi guys,

I'm not really sure how this all works or if I'm asking in the right place but here goes.

Basically, I work offshore and there is a PS5 on the ship that I've been tasked with downloading games for on a regular basis as well as keeping them all updated. One of the main hurdles is that we don't have the Internet capacity to download the games out here and one of the main reasons I was asked to do this is simply because I have a PS5 of my own at home.

The idea is to buy a couple of 2TB SSD's capable of running PS5 games directly off the drive. I'd download all the games onto the SSD at home using my console and then bring it offshore and plug it into the console out here and voilĂ . As long as I use the same account that I buy the games on for both consoles that shouldn't be a problem I believe.

The part I'm having trouble with is they want me to have two SSD's that would basically work in shifts. Every so often, I would go home on leave and download some new games on one of the SSD's and the next time I was offshore I'd swap it out for the one onboard and just keep repeating the process.

And finally, assuming that everything makes sense so far, here is my question. Would I need to buy every game twice for this to work? Since they would have to be stored on both SSD's at all times I'm assuming the answer is yes but I figured I'd ask just in case.

Thanks in advance,

Jake

I'm not sure on the answer as never had reason to try it, I don't see why it wouldn't work.
I don't understand your reasoning for this though - "Would I need to buy every game twice for this to work? Since they would have to be stored on both SSD's at all times".
Why would you need to keep the same game on both SSDs?
