Topic: best co-op game of all time (Forum poll)

I EDITED THE RULES A BIT.

By now we know what the favourite game of 2015 of the pushsquare community is, we know everyones favourite platformer by year and we know about people's favourite tv show and anime...
But what about co-op games?!?
Now I want to know every pushsquarerer's favourite co-op game so here we go...

Rules are simple.
1. everyone can pick 2 games (you can't play co-op without atleast 2 players 😜)
2. The games have to support co-op, not competitive.
3. Call of duty zombies/extinction and other survival co-op experiences are allowed.
4. Both local and/or online are allowed.
5. All platforms are allowed INCLUDING PC, tablet and phone.
6. EDIT: mention year and platform if a game had a rerelease or a remaster so I know wich one you mean
EDIT 7. From Wednesday January 20th everybody that already voted may vote for anothed 2 games BUT they can only pick 2 games that are already on the list and NOT their first picks. Everyone that didn't vote yet as of January 20th may pick 2 new games and 2 games that are already picked

Voting will be possible until Wednesday February 3th.

EDIT: If you're not sure if a game is truly co-op then I recommend co-optimus.com it has a full list of all co-op games across all platforms + a explenation what the co-op experience is in that game

Halo - I would pick 1/2/3 or Reach as on Legendary its a true test of skill and teamwork. The latter games 4 player setups have ruined what was a perfect series. Bungie really made Reach one of the best games, with a truly great story as their send off. 343 are a bit rubbish. Choice - Halo Reach Xbox 360.

Mario Kart - 2 player GPs working together on the snes was a revelation. This may not be considered co-op as you are in competition, but its fun. An evolution of this idea came in the GameCube iteration, were the weapons were thrown by player 2. You could swap over on the fly between driver and weapon handler. Decision - Mario Kart Double Dash! GameCube.

Notable mentions Streets of Rage 2, 1943, Bubble Bobble, Pang, Gears of war, Diablo 3, Rocket League and Fifa Pro Clubs. To be fair Rocket League is easily the best co-op game of the last 3 years, only missing out due to nostalgia and my picks were Imo the culmination of their particular series.

I forgot Metal Slug and Shock Troopers!!!.............and every Capcom arcade beat em up ever (Captain Commando, The Punisher, Dungeons and Dragons, Aliens VS Predator)

My picks are-

Scott Pilgrim- The Game: 2010, PSN and XBLA
Resident Evil 5: 2009, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows

Scott Pilgrim could get 4 players in an awesome throwback beat-em-up that I personally think is better than even the classics. I know the old men around here would disagree with me there, but I'm standing firm!

As for Resi 5, yeah it may not be one of the stronger entries in the series, but the experience of playing a Resi game with a partner is admittedly pretty sweet.

@idangermouse_ if it's focussed on co-op then yes, if it's co-op as in I play call of duty online with a friend as player 2 on the same console then no. But in case of fifa I really can't judge. I give you benefit of the doubt and say yes.

@sub12 please pick you're favourite entry of the series and I'll count it as a vote, picking mario kart series is picking 8 games at once ;p

I changed the rules a bit because I realised it's going to be messy and confusing otherwise.

Change 1. Year and platform aren't needed anymore, only if a game had a re release or remaster then you should state if you mean the original or the rerelease.
Change 2. From Wednesday January 20th everybody is able to vote for another 2 game BUT only games that are on the list already and not your first picks again, so in other words your first 2 picks can be any co-op game, your second 2 picks have to be games that are already on the list.

My favourite 2 co-op experiences are

1 - Destiny - in particular the Raids! These are awesome!! I do think Crotas End is the weakest but overall these are the best co-op game experiences.
2 - CoD: Zombies - I would have to pick probably Black Ops (the first) - purely because of the number of Maps - especially as it added all the DLC Maps from W@W and Call of the Dead is still my favourite. Black Ops 2 had some great maps too but I think Black Ops just wins. Black Ops 3 so far only has 2-3 maps (depending on if you have the Giant or not) so its difficult to compare the overall experience compared to these other games. Shadows of Evil is an excellent start and the first DLC map looks very interesting so it could potentially end up as my favourite but its just too early to in its life at the moment.

@sub12: Halo 2 is a good choice, that game was brilliant. Can you remember the first time you boarded the big war of the worlds vehicle and jumped off the bridge to get on its hood? Gaming gold.

To be honest I still reflect on that very level every once and awhile.....it's a moment that even few modern games can compare with. Halo 2 had some minor flaws, but god, the highs were high.

Incredibly tough...

I'm a bit of a co-op nut, and there are so bloody many that narrowing it down to two is so hard: Trine 2, Helldivers, Borderlands, Magicka (1), Portal 2, Renegade Ops, Saints Row 3, Diablo 3, Dungeon Defenders, Red Faction Guerilla, SW4, RE5, Dawn Of War 2, are just the ones that immediately spring to mind - a few years back me and a friend absolutely hammered every single 360 and Steam co-op game we could find.

But.. In terms of pure length, fun, and "completeness" of co-op (full co-op campaign, hours spent, etc.) though, it has to be:
