Not the best game ever, but I remember having inordinate amounts of fun playing coop on Army of Two (PS3, 2008).
Also Left 4 Dead (Xbox 360, 2008) was great coop, if occasionally it could ruin friendships.

Looks like 2008 was a great year for couch coop, at least in my opinion.

Halo 2-awesome game, be that solo, co-op or multiplayer....man, so many hours!!

Destiny-content and storywise the game is horrible, but the gameplay is briljant. You are done with each new content is a few weeks, but those few weeks are great when played in co -op.
