So I purchased the Farpoint VR Aim Controller bundle over the weekend.
Got to put a little bit of time into it and so far so good.
It's definitely lacking in the first person shooter department, but the aim controller is fun to use. Feels like I'm in an arcade.
What other games do you guys recommend for the Aim Controller?
Also how do you guys go about maintaining your headset?
A quick once over with the PSVR cleaning cloth used to be enough, but since I got into SkyrimVR my play sessions last much longer (3-4 hours sometimes).
Resident VR expert @MadAussieBloke , how do you keep your headset in pristine condition ?

@Fight_Teza_Fight You can obtain microfibre clothes from opticians. I can send you some if you want when I next get some 👓.
So Ive played through Batman VR and the Playroom VR. Both of which feature in the Pushsquare top 10 VR games list.
Playroom VR is loads of fun. Im gonna make sure my son gets a go tomorrow as the second on tv player which I can imagine would be insane. Playing alone isnt ideal with this one. The platform game was awesome and the arcade ball machine is ace. Those little robots are adorable!
Batman VR is amazing but also a let down. Its quickly become apparent I dont like continual changes of mechanics in vr, when Im immersed theres nothing quite like fiddling around with all the buttons to pull you back out of the experience. Batman feels more like a frankenstein experiment of unfun mini games fumbling your way from one scene to the next. The mirror stuff both at the start and end are phenomenal, the puzzley stuff in the morgue was great too, filling the vial with your own blood and testing it was a class touch also! But its a touch lightweight and would have prefered the detective science testing to be alot more expansive and more natural on the controller.

@themcnoisy For Batman, I've played it with the DS4 and with Move controllers and this is one of those games where the design for the move controllers is a lot better than for DS4. THe move controllers are the most annoying thing about PSVR in my opinion because they are great for some games but rubbish for others but are yet another accessory that costs more if you don't have them.
Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot
@themcnoisy Thanks for the offer, but I've got a few already. Also I didn't realise it at first, but you can pop the protector out. That makes cleaning it and the the rest of the headset a lot easier. Now I keep my headset minty fresh .
Move controllers are hit and miss. Hated them for Rush of Blood, but loved them in Wayward Sky.

@Rudy_Manchego@Fight_Teza_Fight Just played farpoint. Thats being traded straight away. Absolutely awful. I love the gun and out of the box I was like "hell yeah" and it works well enough but half an hour in and its a terrible game and I really feel sick.
Im surprised its so bland, the spider aliens are rubbish.

@themcnoisy I quite liked it - although I will admit almost all of my like was the aim controller. I didn't get any sickness once I played with the settings so I was lucky. The second half of the game is stronger in terms of story and gameplay but I can't lie that overall, as an FPS it is bland.... I just loved aiming down the sites of the sniper rifle and shooting the bug like aliens in the head. Reminded me of high school... sigh.
One thing that has struck me about VR is how hard it is to reach a consensus for games because comfort and gameplay style is so particular to VR. Anyone else noticed that?

@Rudy_Manchego When I was in the ship at the start angling passed a space station and a variety of planets I was truly engrossed. No sickness and locked in. I noticed the shadow of my character moving to the left rear and felt in the game. The slow movement of the ship helped with motion sickness and I would be 100% happy to play a game at that angle directing stuff around me. Then your beamed down to the planet and it all went wrong.
Any game so far with large sections of movement and Im ill. So ill today I have just watched Posh Pawn on channel 4 and currently watching the snooker as I cant face putting the headset on. Its not worth feeling this way. Batman had the teleportation mechanic which works well, thats my only option.

@themcnoisy Yeah - that sucks. I think you can do teleportation in the settings. I could be talking out of my arse though. I know the default movement without tinkering was terrible.
True though, once you feel woozy there is nothing that gets me playing the game. I tried Rise of the Tomb Raider VR section without teleportation and had to take a lie down within two movements. I felt terrible.

I've been playing Shooty Fruity. I'm down the last mission (the endurance one) with only a handful of challenges left.
My biggest issue with VR lately is just my living room. I can either setup the camera to do well with standing or do well with sitting. Being 6'3 doesn't seem to help either. LUCKILY, I actually have two cameras... I set one up for standing play (on top of TV) and one for sitting play (on a small table below TV). It's just a pain to switch between the two.
I've VERY excited for The Impatient and Fire Team Bravo. Other than Monster Hunter, I don't really see myself buying many non-VR games this year. I'm VR spoiled.

@Bad-MuthaAdebisi I liked what I played of it, but the tracking was completely off at launch. Couldn't finish it. Yet to go back to it. @themcnoisy I agree the gameplay was lacking, but I really enjoyed it. I really enjoyed the story and the animations were really well done. There is a little bit more enemy variety later in the game, but the spiders are a mainstay. @MadAussieBloke Wish I could replace my headset with a new one every other week! I clean mine twice a week now. Just a once over, but certainly feels better.

@Bad-MuthaAdebisi totally agree with that. Rush of blood is the only game so far Ive felt genuine dread. Im not a fan of horror or scary stuff although my favourite author is Steven King and I kept thinking someone was in the room with me.
Turns out that was the wife with a cup of coffee for me. She did not understand why I shot up and it went everywhere when she tapped me on the shoulder.
TOP TIP - for 3d audio you need to grab the cheap set of monitoring headphones I started using yesterday. They are only £60 but the sound quality is unreal. I bought these 6 months ago but found them a bit off for making music but they are the best for psvr. I wear them over the band and they have room to spare.
Thats a link I just found. They are not gaming headphones but wipe the floor with the beats and pack in ones Ive used so far and my more expensive monitor headphones dont need the abuse of the psvr although they sound just as good. Everyone needs a set.

So did my first playthrough of Summer Lesson, short, but sweet and meant to be replayed.
If you don’t know what it is - you take the role of tutoring a Japanese girl in highshool and you have 7-days to do so. It’s not that fanservicy actually. I haven’t played the vent yet, but the most it gets is there an event where you feed cake to each other. Mainly it’s developing a relationship and getting her grades up.
I feel there’s small details to notice and explore upon replaying it. It’s also a great early VR game to play. I got a B ranking on my first try. I do feel like the subtitles might have less then the actual dialogue, and I also feel like it could slightly longer scenes (like the ending could be a little longer, maybe a post/ending scene), but so far so good and I’m happy with it.
Since getting PS VR on xmas day i can honestly say i've been totally blown away by it, it has exceeded my expectations and then some ! I've mainly played on VR Worlds and Until Dawn:Rush of Blood so far, both of which i love, Danger Ball is great fun. Even my mum loves it and keeps asking to go on it, which is a first haha
All this and i haven't even tried Astrobot yet, safe to say i'm in love with VR already
@Toadie Glad you're enjoying your PSVR! I love showing it off to my family.
I'll never forget my the sight of my uncle doing a 360 turn jump trying to shoot demons and DoomVFR .
@Jaz007 Sounds pretty neat. Have you checked out the VR mode in the Persona rhythm games? It's pretty bare bones, but it let's you check out their dorms and let's you dress them up and watch them dance lol.
A Persona x Summer Lessons game would be a dangerous combination...$$$

@Fight_Teza_Fight Haha i'm looking forward to getting Doom at some point, i've just bought Batman, Psychonauts and an FPS called Dark Legion in the sales, the latter i can't seem to find much info on but it looks cool, looking forward to giving it a try.
I quite like playing regular games in cinematic mode too, i was playing Neon Chrome earlier when the tv was occupied, i can see me using it quite a lot.
I tried out Until Dawn: Rish of Blood today. I played the first level and it’s a pretty neat idea. I don’t know if I was scared, but definitely had some tension and felt some moments of fear at some jump scares. Those work so much better in VR.
Just seen the new VR shoes from CES. They look brilliant! Way better than the balance board thingy.

I'm getting quite a good tax return this year, so I'm hoping to pick up PSVR with it. Does it come with the camera, or do you have to buy that separate?
I'm a bit nervous since I haven't had the chance to test it out (so I don't know how well I'll get on with it), but I never had any issue with the 3DS's 3D or 3D movies (I know the VR will be much more intense, though), so hopefully that bodes well
