It's getting close thought it needed it's own thread. I'm hoping for a midnight release but I live in a pretty small town so they are rare around these parts.
Never played a GTA game before because I always thought it was just another Open World game where people use cheats to cause as much mayhem as they can(atleast that's what my friends did xD) but after watching all the trailers I discovered that I've never been so wrong. I might get it on my next trip to the USA.
Im not getting the game....at launch Im not hyped at all but I am interested so I can happily wait for a month or so afterwards. Im still playing through Yakuza 3 so I might get it when Ive finished up Yakuza 4 which will be in a few weeks time probably. I doubt its gonna live up to all this hype as none of Rockstars games this gen has but It could be suprisingly fun. Depends on whether its more like GTA4 or Previous gen GTA's. GTA4 was doggers.
Not a huge fan of GTAIV, good game but felt it was very overrated. I thought RDR was fantastic, though - one of my favourite games of this generation. As for GTAV, I've got high hopes and so far it looks like it'll live up to the dream. We'll know soon enough.

Yeah, I got rid of GTAIV within two weeks of owning it. Biggest console disappointment to date
At first I was not even fussed about the release of GTAV, then I saw the trailers...

"remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."
@Splat I respect your opinion but its not the same as mine. It was good. A 7/10 kinda game for me. Had its good moments but also felt like a chore to play. The problem is the Mainstream hype machine that always kicks in with such releases and starts babbling about how epic n awesome these games are. Problem is when I get home, they're not. In a way the hype kinda ruins it. Good games, Just not as good as everyone leads me to believe. To be honest Im not really a fan of open-world games much anyway. I tend to be prefer more story-driven affairs, or artistic titles n the more niche genre's out there. GTA5 will no doubt be good, but it wont be the 'ZOMG 10/10 GAME OF TEH GENERATIIONZz!! like all the mainstream gaming websites are gonna try n make me believe it is. My peculiar taste in gaming wont enjoy it as others will

See that isn't me. I don't even own GTAIV and I thought Max Payne 3 was pretty average but RDR was something special IMO. We will have to agree to disagree on this one.
Well accidentaly found a way to stop the wierd loud click sound on my PS3. I just need to my ps3 inclined and the sound will stop. My game store planned to charge me over 150$ for this -_- but well now its all good I even might get GTA V to celebrate this huge win when it comes out here. It'll be my first time playing a game from this franchise.
Interesting how the tastes differ. I was disappointed by RDR (expected it to be "more" in the online coop department and I didn't like the story at all) also disappointed by GTA IV (stopped playing it 15 hours in) but I can't wait for V, mainly for the online. I don't care too much for the single player but Im open to be positively surprised as I go into the singleplayer with NO expectations at all.
And as for that guy that booked time off of work to play GTA V, well, I'm self-employed, so go figure... I guess I might have a sudden "flu" and close shop!

Top 5 Indies I'd recommend you try: #1 Lovecraft's Untold Stories, #2 Moonlighter, #3 Hotline Miami, #4 Inside, #5 Into the Breach.

If you don't care about single player and enjoy online than RDR isn't the game for you. The single player was awesome IMO but the online didn't do much for me.
I'm actually looking forward more to GTA's V single player than it's online play but I'm a HUGE single player fan.
Well this is my first GTA game so can anyone provide some tips? I might try to play this like like it were Saints Row 3/Sleeping Dogs until I learn proper way to play it. xD
