Interesting how the tastes differ. I was disappointed by RDR (expected it to be "more" in the online coop department and I didn't like the story at all) also disappointed by GTA IV (stopped playing it 15 hours in) but I can't wait for V, mainly for the online. I don't care too much for the single player but Im open to be positively surprised as I go into the singleplayer with NO expectations at all.
If you don't care about single player and enjoy online than RDR isn't the game for you. The single player was awesome IMO but the online didn't do much for me.
I'm actually looking forward more to GTA's V single player than it's online play but I'm a HUGE single player fan.
Dont mix up my quote I bought RDR for the singleplayer experience, but expected more from online coop, unfortunately BOTH were disappointing for me. I also didn't like the typical controls too much.
GTA IV was disappointing on all fronts for me, didn't like the characters, the settings, the controls, basically nothing much. Fooling around was fun, for a while.
I get GTA V mainly for the online with my friends, of course I will at least once romp through singleplayer and I am all open minded for the game to come blow me away and make friends with me. Lately I found that having an open attitude with little expectations greatly improves the joy I get out of the games.
Im playing Killzone HD alone and Resistance 3 with a friend lately and Im LOVING it!

Top 5 Indies I'd recommend you try: #1 Lovecraft's Untold Stories, #2 Moonlighter, #3 Hotline Miami, #4 Inside, #5 Into the Breach.
I wasn't going to get it at first but I got it now, it's fun but I have a old controller and need a new one. Also sign up at rockstars social club to get free unlocks, here is some info. http://news.softpedia.com/news/GTA-V-Ha … 2972.shtml
@Epic - Haha it's hard to shut off. There is just so much to do in this game it's crazy. I have played it non stop and still feel like I haven't put a dent in it.
I still feel the controls in Sleep Dogs are better but the freedom and things to do in GTA V is awesome.
I'm enjoying the interaction between characters, story, voice work ect.
My favorite thing about it is the ability to switch between characters. That is really really cool and helps the game feel fresh and gives it a nice change of pace.

It's good to hear its an amazing game and that you are enjoying it.
Wait isn't there an option to change the controller layout? I've heard alot of complains of this.
Not for me at the moment. GTA games get boring very quickly (for me). When its down to a tenner in a year or so I'll give it a go though. However, my local Morrison's had it for £30 today so if anyone wants it maybe try their stores.
"Oh smeg. What the smegging smegs he smegging done? He's smegging killed me."
I spent 4 hours just playing the tennis last night. I love this game.
I enjoy Tennis alot more than I thought I would. I thought it was a good idea I just wasn't sure how it would play but it works great.
Yeah, as a fan of tennis, I was happy it was in there but also didn't know how much attention Rockstar would give it. I think it's funny that this small part of the game is actually much better than some full tennis games I've played over the years.
I hope you dont mind me butting in your GTA V discussion here since I got it on the 360, but the GTA V thread over at Pure Xbox is pretty much dead.
Anyway I played a few hours today and I have to say I am really enjoying this game alot, in fact it my take the crown away from Vice City as being my favorite GTA game.
The only thing is though I am only playing as Franklin right now. Did I miss something or do I get the other two characters later on?

They come in later and than you can switch between them freely, which is really cool.
@Splat: Ah ok I thought you got them right away, I guess I am just to eager to be able to switch between people thats all lol. I did get a taste of switching but that was between Franklin and Chop.

Have to say one part of this game I wasn't sure I'd like was the soundtrack because I saw a lot of people on forums posting that they were disappointed by the selections. Not having looked any song lists I didn't know what to expect but a lot of songs I heard and liked as a kid are in there. Higher Love, If You Leave Now, What a Fool Believes and Adult Education being some I remember my parents playing a lot when I was growing up. When one of my all-time favorites, Photograph, turned on I had to put the volume on full blast.
And yeah, the switching mechanic in this game is great. Works much better and isn't nearly as annoying as I thought it could be. So far, I have to say this game is well on its way to being my favorite open world game this gen. Won't fully make that call until I'm finished and I've played Watch_Dogs later this year, but regardless, I'm thrilled to have a truly great GTA game again. The wait seemed like forever but it was definitely worth it.

A tenner!? Thats a pipedream my friend! With how hyped its been I can see it holding its price for quite a while. Skyrim is still hovering around the £15-£20 price preowned and thats just the standard version lol Im in the same boat as you though. I have little interest myself, Vice City being the only GTA Ive ever truly enjoyed, so Im waiting for a price drop at some point too. No doubt a good game, but probably not the masterpiece people keep gushing about (Im saving the masterpiece tag for Beyond, lets hope it delivers)
So howz the Blimp if anyone has it? The amount of people selling their mothers for a preoder to get the DLC was amusing. Is it actually any good?
Does anyone know how to do the property missions? My bar and marijuana dispensary keep texting me asking me to do pickups but I can't call them and if I go visit I can't talk to anyone or find any way to start the mission?
