Are you checking the right email account?  I have several that I use for various reason so it might be easy to forget which one you used.

The only thing else that I can think of as to why you didnt get an email is did they have the correct email address on file and didn't miss something, like thinking a zero was an O or something along those lines.

This happened to me this morning! I tried log onto friends on my PSvita this morning & it kept saying that I was entering the wrong password.  It was 100% correct.

Just changed my password.  Lucky I don't have any bank details on it.

UPDATE: phoned sony and they said they're doing random password changes as a security measure (why?) and they said seeing as i cant remember the DOB im pretty much f*cked so that's about 6 months of ps+ £200-£350's worth of dlc, games, avatars ect. GONE in an instant.

so in summary im cancelling my ps4 and going xbo-nah just kidding guess i gotta start all over.........bugger.

will try to phone again later see if i can get someone more helpful.

It's a long shot, but have you tried 'randomly' picking different years for your birth date? I'd guess you probably used the correct day and just knocked the year down a bit. Depending on how many attempts you get, you'd probably only have about 100 possibilities so it shouldn't take THAT long. I second the idea of trying to phone them again.

Also, have you checked your email's spam/junk folder? When I made my EU account, all the emails from Sony were being filtered as spam via Gmail. I'm not really sure this would help or anything, but it might give SOME information.

On the 'bright' side: PS4 is a great time to start fresh considering nearly all of that content won't work on the new console.

Yeah thats what I tend to do with my son's account.  I will use his actual month and day but I will use my birth year that way it's easier to remember.  Sorry to hear about your lost but as nathanuc1988 said its a great time to start over with the PS4.

UPDATE 2: So i phoned again and this time was given an email address and a reference number and was told to email my issue with the reference number and proof of my identity which are a birth certificate a driving licence or a passport, so my birth certificate was destroyed years ago, i have no desire to drive and im not leaving the country soooo no passport lol but i can get a replacement birth certificate for around £15 lets just hope it turns up in time for ps4.

(also about starting a new account i could do that but my vita uses the same account so i really need it back that and ya know 6 months of ps+)

hey man. it happened to me there now. Just go to sonyentertainmentnetwork.com. Goto manage account. It'll ask you to sign in, it'll then say password incorrect. Say you forgot password, it'll send you an email with a link to change your password. Change it. Thats it =]

It asks for a DOB which is the root of my problem, thanks anyway.

Some more info it seems ALOT of people have this issue but whenever they enter their DOB it tells them its incorrect and they're all certain of their DOB but when they phone sony they were told that they would fix it from their end and some are already back online because their password started working again im confused.
