Apparently this isn't just in the UK, had the exact same problem just a few minutes ago. If my account did get hacked I think I caught it quick enough, but I'm going to call Sony just to see if they might know anything that may have happened. I doubt it, but better safe than sorry. I don't give my passwords to anybody, even family members, and I use different random ones for all my accounts so a little bit disturbing if it was a hack.
My password wasn't working last night. It said wrong password. Very strange. I just reset it and everything's working again, but that's awfully strange.
Here's the thing though. You need access to your e-mail address as well in order to change the password, right? I had to open an e-mail to reset my password. If someone had actually hacked my account, or guessed my password, then they wouldn't have been able to change my password and keep me out. So I think something weird was going on with PSN.

My son had to reset his yesterday which is a sub account under mine. I haven't checked my profile yet but I am sure I will have to next time I start up my PS4.
