I thought the ending was as nerve wrecking as other parts of the game, very very moving, even though I'd have loved to see some more, something about later. Obviously can't go into further detail here because god knows I don't want to spoil anything to anyone. It's save to say though that the quality and thrill of the game only racks up the closer you get to the ending.
Definitely one of my all time favourite games, ever. And I've been around a while...

Top 5 Indies I'd recommend you try: #1 Lovecraft's Untold Stories, #2 Moonlighter, #3 Hotline Miami, #4 Inside, #5 Into the Breach.
Just for your consideration, a very fun interview with real life Ellie and Joel (Ashley and Troy) complete with some funny voice acting (Christopher Walken and Jason Statham ha!). Those two are really sympathic and it's interesting how Ashley sounds like pure Ellie and Troy obviously was speaking with his "belly" voice when acting Joel! Anyways, great vid, hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
There's only one thing that really bugs me. What now? I mean Ill play this for a while even though I finished it today, but... how can any other game in the "thrilling drama adventure survival"-genre ever live up to this again? I'd beg for a sequel but I'd be afraid they couldn't pull it off better...

Interestingly I was in the local games store today, and TLOU had completely sold out! All you could do was order a copy and wait for the next shipment. No ETA given.
So glad I picked up my copy day 1.

If the game keeps selling well I'm pretty sure Sony will look for ND to make a sequel but yeah I'd be concerned about it living up to the first myself. Where as I think Uncharted actually lends itself well to sequels, TLOU really was, at least imo, simply about Joel and Ellie and I think the ending wrapped things up perfectly. Sometimes things are better left to the imagination. Their journey doesn't need to be continued. With Uncharted the premise is very simple, a guy adventuring around the world in search of treasures. For something like that it's so easy to just keep it going.

I agree with you fully. But maybe it would be perfectly fine telling the story of someone else in the same world, same timeframe and maybe even have cameos or interlinking storylines with the first game (The Last Of Us). It could even be about Tommy and his time at the fireflies, even though I think it would lack the distinct chemistry of Ellie and Joel because, lets be honest, as thrilling as the world of TLOU is, it lives and breathes with Joel and Ellie, with someone else it would just be another, VERY good, post apocalyptic surival thing.
Maybe I am just a bit overly attached to that game because it was a long time since something moved me like this. I'd love to read some extended universe novels or something like I did with Halo (those by Eric Nylund, they were actually better than anything an actual Halo game ever pulled off).

I think the DLC is going to be about that. If you know the name ISH you will know what i mean. I love to have a story of ISH.
Yes I know the name ISH, Im not sure if I actually want to SEE that kind of story... gives me shivers. Im curious about the DLC though. I tried the multiplayer yesterday and I have to say its a welcome change of the basic formulars, but for me absolutely not interesting. I want to sink into the lore and characters, the killing itself is just a sideeffect!

There's a time frame that passes at the start of the game that lends itself well to more stories.
Don't worry not spoiling anything. I guess I'd fancy seeing Joel how he became a smuggler a few years ago or something like that. But yeah Tommy would do nicely as well, even though I don't think anything could live up to the chemistry between Joel and Ellie.

Thats the thing... i dont want a sequel.... I prefer the story of ISH! With him coming for ***
I guess under the bottom line its fair to say that I expect and hope Naughty Dog to keep the quality of their games at this high standard when going into next gen (heck TLOU looks almost next gen already) no matter what games they are making and what story they are telling.
Maybe - there even IS room for a sequel if done right.. I didn't see TLOU coming and being THAT awesome anyways. Maybe they can pull that again?

It's now several days after I finished the game the first time, Im soon on my third playthrough and I have a.. "problem". I still am highly emotionally attached to that game, the characters, when I listen to the soundtrack in my car, I get goosebumps all over my arms. I think I've been traumatized... in a positive way.
Anyone else has this? Lol

I think it was more the gameplay side that let me down, and this isn't an issue of the game (cause it still is a good ending), but most games have this climatic final battle that is quite difficult. I finished the game by using smoke bombs for the first time and walking on into the wing.
I was expecting a few clickers and bloaters, and the part before the Hospital left me unsatisfied.

Actually I was glad the ending was how it was, the only thing I hated was that it in fact was the end of the game, because I really wanted to continue playing, listening to the awesome dialogue and further explore this wretched world!

More of Bill would be awesome. I wouldn't mind more of Tess either.
Okay, so this is the spoiler free forum of last of us. I just had a question since I know lots of you played it - I'm starting it tonight and I wanted to know about the difficulty. Ever since I played the first one on normal, I've played all the uncharted games on hard. They had some difficulty to them, but not enough to be frustrating. How is the difficulty of the last of us comparatively? I'm not quite as good with stealth games. Is normal still going to be challenging enough to be fun? For comparisons sake, I played bio shock and bioshock infinite on hard. Died a bunch but it was part of the fun. Died a surprising number of times on tomb raider and god of war on normal, though. Partially because of the quick time events.
