@Bazza78: Exactly Overwatch's beta is everything. Would you rather have say Route 66 map not be part of the beta or say Hanzo and then go to use him or play on that map when it's goes live and have it broken and unplayable?
Then people would complain that the character was broken and that is what a beta is for.

@Tasuki: doom i played 2 maps in beta and 2 game types , the other six maps game types and weapons will suprise me. And the 15 hour campaign will too. Overwatch ...i've seen it all already.
OVERWATCH ps4 KDR 4.8. games won ratio 84 %. Best kill streak 52. Most eliminations 88
@Tasuki: what other beta or demo gives you 100% access to a games entire launch content ? What new experience does overwatch offer that i haven't already played in the beta version?
@Bazza78: Yeah, but I just wanted to know or get a sense of how much they're going to be supporting Overwatch in terms of future content since I've never played any of Blizzard's game's before.
Free-to-play games like Warframe will always get content updates. Otherwise, they won't be able to make any profit.
@Bazza78: Several that I have been in actually. Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone, Lord of the Rings Online, but those were final betas. Final Betas usually included everything as I stated, not sure how much clearer I can make it and why you keep bringing up UC4 and Doom. BETAS ARE A TESTING PHASE OF A PRODUCT TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS READY FOR LAUNCH
@WanderingBullet: It depends on the game really. World of Warcraft has about a two year cycle between expansions, but they have patches during that time that introduces new things every few months. Same goes with Starcraft and Diablo 3. Now Heroes of the Storm and Hearthstone, which is the practice I am thinking they will uses for Overwatch gets new stuff added quite frequently. Like maybe every 3 to 6 six months. Which is why I said maybe around Blizzcon they might add new stuff.

@Bazza78: I understand that, but most betas do. Your problem is you keep citing two betas you were in and assume that's what a beta is.
I will say that nowadays the word beta gets thrown around and some are more like demos but that's not what a beta is. I suspect companies use the word to make a demo sound more exciting then it is and to get preorders. Would a person be more inclined to preorder a game if they were told they would get into a beta or if they were told you are getting a demo?
It's a clever marketing ploy, I will give them that.

@Bazza78: Yeah, I felt the same way about the price too at first but like some of the other guys here said, if you're gonna be playing the game a lot and you love PvP I guess its worth it. Overwatch isn't the first game with no single-player campaign to cost $60. Evolve, Titanfall, and Star Wars: Battlefront all did. That being said, I still haven't decided on a day-one purchase yet. It all depends on how much I'll enjoy UC4's PvP mode.
@Tasuki: Thanks.
I found an article and it had Jeff Kaplan saying, “We’re also working on a TON of post-launch features and content. It’s going to be a pretty amazing summer.”
@Bazza78: This is why it fits the F2p bracket for me. I've been playing the entire game for a few days now. I take it when its released, all the characters will be locked and i'll have to unlock them aswell as maps n stuff?
@cloudrunner64: All characters and maps will be unlocked from the get go. Everytime you level up you earn a Loot Box. Each loot box contains random rewards of either cosmetic items, i.e.: skins, sprays, voice, victory pose, and highlight intros or in-game currency which you can use to buy your item of choice.
I found out that in actually fact the standard version of game only cost $40 (PC Version) but PS4 only has the Origins Edition which has additional content hence the $60 price tag.
