Topic: Overwatch - OT

@WanderingBullet: dont get me wrong my opinion has changed on this game, its polished to death. And very good.

@Bazza78: I think one of the arguments some console gamers have is that the regular $40 version should be available for the PS4 and XB1 as well. Only because not all of them are interested in the Origins cosmetic items and people who don't play PC/Blizzard games won't have any use for the WoW, Hearthstone, StarCraft II or Heroes of the Storm items.

Also, I think if the game had been free to play, a lot of the characters would've been locked and we would have to pay for them. Which essentially makes it a pay-to-win situation.

After playing this game quite a lot over the weekend I did enjoy it. The game is visually pleasing and charcters varied. However there are charcters that are clearly better to play than others which seem to be really buffed. The healing should be reserved for the suport players. With the characters balanced as they are now I would not buy the game. If at some future stage they do make changes then I would get the game.

They could easily have gone down the FP2 route for this game but then they would have been charging to death for all the skins, loot boxes etc. So I guess this is cheaper for most players paying for the game and having full access to all the heroes etc.

Kinda sad that it's gone for two weeks, had a blast with it and have pre-ordered. It's so much better than I ever expected.

@dryrain some of them do seem stronger but honestly I think it varies heavily which map you're on. A lot of them seem to hard counter each other as well. I do think that too many characters have self heals though.

For me, Roadhog needs to be nerfed but only because his hook attacks (which is almost a guaranteed one-hit kill if you're not a Tank) and the ability to self-heal annoys me. -__- Maybe they could shorten the range of his hooks and reduce the amount of health he regains from self-heals.

I got battleborn last week, but I am considering Overwatch. I am just on the fence if it's worth the full price.

@WanderingBullet: Roadhog is one of the worst characters imo, the hook is all he has going for him. Just like mccree and his flashbang,

It will be interesting to see what if any tweaks they make to the heroes when launch time comes around.

@Neurotic_Biotic: Yeah, McCree's flashbang is pretty much an instant kill as well, if he's close to you and does that multiple shots attack. Though, I think of it as kinda like a grenade attack which is fair I guess.

Speaking of grenades, Soldier 76's grenade launcher attack can instant kill weaker classes as well.lol

I've changed my mind i have re preordered. The game is generally very good . Bastion needs major nerf tho, he shouldnt be able to self heal in turret form that crap is ridiculous. I got a 27 kill streak with bastion , too easy.

@Neurotic_Biotic: but if you flashbang and fan the trigger with mcree then he owns every 1v1 gunfight

@Bazza78: Yeah, you pretty much can mow down 3-5 enemies before having to reload with Bastian's turret.

@Bazza78: exactly, I'm defending it, and roadhogs hook as they are their only solid points that definitely should not be nerfed or they would be useless. Mccree is the perfect solution to a Tracer, and quite often Bastion.

Next Animated Short - Dragons is premiering on May 16th.

Having played the beta which is pretty much what the full game is going to be what do you guys think the average score will be on Metacritic?

Edit: Just watched Dragons and it was pretty amazing.

These animated shorts are so good. For 8 minutes I was happy.

I'd probably wager it'll sit around 80, maybe 85. I don't think it should be penalised for not having a single player but it probably will be, it has never advertised itself as such. Story driven games like uncharted don't lose points for having a mediocre multiplayer, so a multiplayer focused game should not lose points the other way.

I pre-ordered this, but I am now on the fence a bit on whether I need to get it or not.

Yeah, I think it'll score 85/100 or thereabouts too.

I dunno about this game. I really enjoyed the demo. So much so that i actually miss playing it. I just find the price abit high for what it is considering we have played the whole game minus the new modes and maps that will come in future.

After reading this, I think Bungie needs to contact the guys at Treyarch since they don't understand their weapons well enough.lol Some of the decisions they've made with their weapon balancing were kinda dumb during the first 9 months. Plus I've heard that apparently they're still tweaking Year-1 weapons like the Thorn and The Last Word when the game is already in its second year.

@WanderingBullet: Yeah it doesn't surprise me that Blizzard asked Treyarch for some help. I can see alot of similarities control wise with Black Ops 3 plus I notices alot of similarities with the heroes of Overwatch and the Specialists of Black Ops III.
