@Tasuki: Cool! The animation on its pretty cool but I don't really use the combat knife myself so doubt I would use one of its 'skins'

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

@BAMozzy: Yeah my son got it a few weeks ago and I will agree with the animation. I might try it out, but honestly I am not good at the whole melee thing.

In other news is everyone looking forward to the next DLC pack?

@Tasuki: The next Zombie sounds AWESOME!!! I can't wait for that! I haven't really seen much of the Maps but initial impression was good. The remake of Banzai, Verge, has a very Mad Max influence in its aesthetics and the original was quite large (although with the original movement, even a medium sized map can feel large). The only other Map that has had a short video so far is Rift. That looks OK and could be hectic if it plays as described. Spire reminds of a DLC map from BO2 (Vertigo) in looks and sounds like more map fatalities - falling off - could be common. The best looking map is, in my opinion, Knockout and looks like it will play a bit like Slums from BO2. The way its described sounds very 'Enter the Dragon' but looks a bit different from that Island.

Often the Map I am most looking forward to ends up not being my favourite when it comes to actually playing on them. Verge is the only layout I know - unless Treyarch changes it but doubt they will. It wouldn't have been in my top 10 maps for a remake. Apart from the Bridge (potential wall running opportunity) and water element, it doesn't offer a lot for the new movement. The caves had openings to be able to pick people of the bridge with relative safety. Aesthetically I like the Mad Max look of Verge and like the look of Knockout too and so these are the maps I am looking forward to the most.

For me though, the thing I look forward to most of all is the Zombies map and that will most likely be what I jump into first!

Incidentally - its a double Cryptokey and Liquid Divinium weekend from Friday this week.....

So I am currently working on camos for the rocket launcher and I need to get 7 direct kills with it. Any suggestions as to what game mode, tips hints or any other information?

@Tasuki: That was a B***H!!! I got the last couple on Kill Confirmed by baiting people with the tags - trying to hit them directly as they ran for them. I tried Domination thinking that people would be easier to hit on the flags but often they seemed to just miss at the last minute, I had a number that seemed to hit and kill but somehow didn't count either. As a result I got very frustrated and went to Kill Confirmed and just ran around with it. I got the majority by people literally running into my face and me firing point blank at them - the ones I planned for and thought I executed rarely counted. Don't aim at their feet because if it hits the ground and kills them, it won't count. It can be frustrating as it 'looks' like you hit them. Doorways are good as it forces players into certain place so aim for the middle of these and try to hit people running through. Hitting people in the back is another good way - they tend to run in straight lines which means you can aim, fire and hit directly - just be aware of the map layout, don't fire if they are close to something that may make them change direction, doors, objects etc. Maybe the new maps may have some long straight paths to give you an opportunity.
This took me the longest of any of the challenges but I do have my Diamond Camo now and never have to use it to hit enemies anymore!

@BAMozzy: Well a quick update I did get the camo for the ten direct hits and rather quickly too once I found out that melee attacks with the launcher counted as well.

Now I just need to kill 3 Talons or Cerberus to get the last camo which depends on the other teams and how often they use those streaks. Which can be annoying.

@Tasuki: To be honest, apart from all the melee weapons and the new sniper, the Marshal is one of my least wanted weapons. I don't use the Pistols in general now. I either run a launcher or another Primary. I used it briefly last night and its very easy to use and get kills with - as long as its only 1 enemy at a time. Reload is a bit slow. Its designed to be something you switch to - not something you run around with - well not unless the enemies never stick together.

Personally I want the HG-40 (MP40 SMG) the most, then probably the crossbow. I am working my way through the SMG's for diamond. The snipers aren't going well and the Shotguns too. If I want Dark Matter camo, I will have to use Pistols and that combat knife!

@BAMozzy: Have you seen Drift0r's latest video about the Marshall? I found it very interesting.

I forgot about the mp40 but yeah definitely want that too. I have tried the MX Garand on my son's account it's pretty good but the fact you have to use the whole clip before reloading takes some time to get use to, at least it did for me.

@Tasuki: Yeah, I saw that. Its definitely OP compared to the other pistols and a couple of the Shotguns too - if you look at its killing potential. No other pistol can kill in 1 shot and 2 of the Shotties require more than 1 hit too. The difference here though is that if you don't kill with that 1 shot or have more than person to shoot (unless dual-wielding) you are dead. The other pistols have more range and potential to kill more people before reloading. The other Shotguns have more ammo to so you can cope with more than 1 person at a time too. If you factor in the reloading, the Marshal has a very slow fire rate. If used to finish off players - its quicker to swap weapons than reload - and used as a secondary weapon in this way, its devastating. Running around using this as a 'primary' - particular without unlocking the Dual-Wield - its not easy to get a lot of kills with it because of the range and reload speed.

The MP-40 has great range but slow fire rate - good for HC as it means you can 1 shot kill other SMG users who may need2 at that range. The Garand can kill in 1 shot but more likely 2 shots - meaning you can clear most of the team before reloading. If paired with the Marshal for CQC, that's a lethal combo. It has a faster fire rate than the Shieva and therefore kills quicker than any other AR. Only the Sniper Rifle is 'bad' - a bolt action low damage sniper!

So I tried the new MP maps last night and thought I give my impressions. The only map that came up for me while I was online was Knockout so I tried the other 3 with bots, just to see the layouts and stuff.

Knockout is by far my favorite. I think it has alot to do with the CQC this map forces you in and that it kinda plays more boots to the ground then other maps in Black Ops 3. Plus I have a soft spot for the Asian theme which is one of the reasons I enjoyed Mists of Pandaria for WoW so much, but that's another story.

Spire — I will say it's a nice looking map unfortunately I only have played it against bots so I can't really comment on playstyle. Got some nice CQC sections and a few sections that you can fire from long range. This is my second favorite.

Rift — Overall, it's ok. The atmosphere is dark and gritty has a few more places for CQC then spire does but a few good spots for long range engaments. Again played against bots so not really sure about strategy or what game mode this would be good for.

Verge — My least favorite, maybe cause I never played the original (Verge is a remake of a World at War map) so I am not seeing this with rose tinted glasses. I like the look l, it reminds me of Borderlands but the layout,l.... ugh just felt like a mess to me. To many places where people can get you from multiple angles l to many times I was shooting at one person only to have 4 others come out from other directions and gun me down from the flanks or behind. This one just seems more of a run around like a chicken with its head cut off map and I am not to fond of those honestly. Very fast paced and chaotic. Possible great for Kill Confirmed.

Anyway those are my thoughts.
