Topic: Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 - OT

@BAMozzy: Kinda odd that they are doing something this weekend since this weekend is the Overwatch Beta.

@Tasuki: Maybe not - maybe they want to get people playing BO3 instead! I know I will be playing it. It endsthe day before Uncharted releases too...

@BAMozzy: I just find it odd because yes it is Blizzard the money in the end goes in part to Activision so you wold think they would want people to try Overwatch.

@Tasuki: The similarities, that both are shooters, is not enough to make this is competition with BO3. As you can tell from the vocal internet, they all have a very specific idea of what EVERY Call of Duty game has to be like or else its instantly awful! From a purely sales PoV - the best selling WW2 CoD game, W@W sold less than 15m, CoD4 sold 17m, Ghosts, which everyone criticised sold 27m, Advanced Warfare sold 21m - in fact every game since MW2 has sold over 20m.
I see Overwatch as more in competition with Battleborn even though both have a 'different' approach.

Nice. So with thw guarantee Weapon drop box I managed to get the NX Shadowclaw. Also buy burning some Cryptokeys I manged to get the new mace melee weapon.

@Tasuki: I ended up with the Shadowclaw and via all those supply drops, the new 'launcher' too. I also got a duplicate of the one melee knife I had. I really want the HG40 and the new FFAR (Famas) as that was one of my favourite BO weapons - I hear its a bit OP in this too.

I now have the AR's, SMG's, LMG's and Launchers in Diamond. I have two of the Shotguns and 1 sniper in gold. It would be great to have the HG and FFAR as that would give me an excuse to use SMG's and AR's instead of persevering with Shotguns, Snipers and Pistols to get the challenges for camo's done...

@BAMozzy: Yeah my son got the HG40 which is honestly one of the weapons I wanted, oh well. So bring up my supply drop weapon count I have the following

Butterfly Knife
NX Shadow Claw
Skullsplitter Mace (I think that's what it's called).

I also like the idea of being able to get a guarantee weapon, and I will be interested what kind of missions they will be giving us for the contracts.

I am wondering do the supply drop weapons such as the HG40 count towards getting the diamond camo?

It will be interesting to see what daily/weekly challenges we get and if any of them are guaranteed 'weapon' drops. I certainly have NO intention to waste money on CoD points!

As far as camo challenges go - no DLC/added weapons count towards diamond/dark matter. If you have diamond on the class already, you will automatically unlock diamond as soon as you unlock gold.

@BAMozzy: From what I have gathered. Once you fulfill a contract you get the 10 supply drop and weapon bribe ticket that season pass holders got yesterday. They already have one contract going on now. Win 75 matches.

@Tasuki: But whether they give the same reward for daily or weekly contracts, we don't yet know. They could give 5 cryptokeys or a common drop for the daily and a rare for the weekly for example...

Not sure the reasoning behind this but today starting at 10 AM and going through Friday Black Ops 3 is having a Double MP/Zombies, Double Weapon XP event. However you need to be grouped up with at least one other player to receive the bonus.

@Tasuki: The reason is because of the new 'groups' feature added today. If you want to find a 'group' to play with, there is a new social feature to find players to party up with instead of playing solo. I could do with a bit of weapon XP, zombies too but will be too bust playing Uncharted 4 I expect...

@BAMozzy: Hmm interesting, I will have to see how it works. As for me I will be able to put in some time now that the Overwatch Beta is over, and I don't have anything really to play atm.

So after the current Double XP Group event wraps up on tomorrow another Double XP event starts through Monday 10 AM but being in a group is not needed.

@Tasuki: Cool. I don't really need 'Double XP' though as I am currently on 10th (last) prestige anyway. Its only going to help me reach Prestige Master but that isn't as important as unlocking a few more attachments on some weapons quicker so I can complete some of the challenges for 'gold' camos.

Yep. Also got an interesting add yesterday from Activision. If you preorder IW from the PS store you get 2000 cod points to spend in Black Ops 3.

@Tasuki: I pre-ordered the Legacy Pro edition (I want the Steelbook and Season Pass) from Game and got 500 CoD points. Not as much I know but its still 'something'. I just hope CoD:IW doesn't have CoD points or Supply Drops - at least no weapons in them. I am sure that's contributed to a lot of the 'hate' towards CoD of late - the whole Supply Drop BS.

So tomorrow daily and weekly contracts go live as well as the new specialist Blackjack. I can't wait to see what daily challenges they have. I am sure this will cause me to put Overwatch down for a bit.

Nice the daily 10 Cryptokey win 3 Safeguard games is bugged. I fulfilled the contract and in the end game screen it says I got 10 keys but when I go to the Black Market it doesn't add them to the total so I don't have the 10 keys. Nice job Activision.
