So today is the day (well techically tonight) when CoD goes back to its roots. Really looking forward to this game as WWII is my favorite setting for a game like this. I know the embargo for streaming posting videos for WWII let's today as well so I will be watching some of those while I am at work.

Will be interesting to hear the feedback on this game. I haven't really been following it that closely, and I've no idea when reviews will be going live.
I have been watching a few playthroughs of the new Zombies and it looks very 'dark' and 'horrific' in the right way!! Looking forward to this! Not so sure about the MP at all - I still think it looks 'old' and dated. Not watched any of the campaign though as I want to see that for myself...

So supply drops are an odd one here. First off as of now there is now way to buy supply drops with real currency. In order to get a supply drop you have to talk to a character in the headquarters get a contract and depending on how difficult it is awards you a supply drop from common to rare. Contracts are basically like side quests in like a something like Skyrim, it could be get 5 headshots using a particular gun on a certain map to win three matches.
Hopefully this doesn't change as I kinda like this system.

@Tasuki Its like the contracts in Black Ops 3. I can guarantee though that CoD Points will be introduced to buy Loot Drops. Its as certain as Treyarch will release its next CoD game in November 2018...

So put in a out 5 hours on MP yesterday, and I will post.my thoughts. Mind you the servers are a bit buggy now, but it's launch weekend that sort of thing happens so barring that here's what I think.
Headquarters is probably the best new feature to be added to CoD. It's cool seeing all the other players and just having a place to chill out. I also have alot of fun in it too, with the firing range, the score streak testing range, and the 1 V 1 pit. It's basically your hub area like in an MMO, like Stormwind in WoW or The Tower in Destiny.
The MP maps are alot of fun with a good variety of sizes you got some that are small like Point du Huc and the forest but some big ones like a Canyon with a railway in it and a few medium size ones like the USS Texas. Overall. I feel they flow pretty good. There are some points that you can snipe from, a few CQ areas etc. but gameplay is very fast paced indeed even without the advance movement.
So far supply drop.don't feel intrusive. You can earn them in a variety of ways but one of them isn't with real money. You can do challenges given by NPCs to earn them, you can earn them randomly by just finishing a match and a few times I got them for I don't know what I did lol. Point is you earn alot of them, and so far they are cosmetic only. Hopefully they stay that way.
Overall I am enjoying this game alot. Easily in my top five games of 2017.

So last night I put some time into War mode and I have to say while I do enjoy it, I can't help but feel the design of the maps heavily favor the defending team. For example like the one that you build a bridge to get a tank across, you are given a task of building a bridge but to build the bridge you have to go out in the open, nothing to protect you where the opposing team just picks you off with snipers. Then in the D-day one if you are the attacking team on the part where you have destroy the computers the design has you funneled in through one set of door where the enemy team just sits and waits.
I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or what but it just seems to suffer by poor design choices. Anyone else notice this or is it me?

This game is such a mess right now MP wise. I was looking forward to putting in alot of time on it this weekend but haven't been able to due to the server problems. Makes me wonder what the point of the beta was and if things were this bad why didn't they just delay it a week or two.

Does anyone still notice server issues? HQ is still empty for me apparently it's starting to work for some people, it worked fine when the game first released now it's always empty. Respawning can sometimes take around 10 seconds to respawn, but that only happens now & again the server's are definitely still iffy now & again. It's not my connection as I've got a Open Nat type with good up & download speeds it's fiber, I haven't had this problem with a Tryarch COD.
@banacheck No there is definitely server issues. The other night I was on and headquarters was packed but last night it was empty again. I have also notice that there is also some latency (I think that's what it's called) Where as on my screen I come across an enemy and shot them only to be killed bt yet on their screen they already shot me before I turned the corner or whatever.
From what I heard is that Activision cheaped out on the servers. They were going by numbers from previous CoD games particularly Infinite Warfare and due to the large amount of returning players the servers couldn't handle it. Even Sledgehammer games told Activision that the number of players would be huge since they predicted that alot of players returned but again Activision went off of numbers for IW.
Hopefully they get it fixed soon.

Been playing this a good bit lately, I've had no problems with servers or games, although HQ has been completely empty everyday I've logged in, I've been really enjoying all three modes. Having an old school WWII campaign to play through again has been really fun, the MP maps have been good and the Zombies mode has been a highlight for me, has a really good horror vibe to it. My only problem is that so many people play Zombies and make no attempt at trying to complete the story or objectives, they just run around trying to get to the next level!
@Hego I find that also true with objective game modes like Domination or.Hardpoint. No one does the objective they just want to run around and kill people. Might as well play TDM.

So this past week they added demolition. I don't have any experience with this mode and I have heard that it's one of the more popular modes in CoD.
I thought it sounded interesting but after playing it for a few days now I have to disagree with the majority here this mode is total garbage. Very seldom do I ever win it seems all the defending team has to do is camp the bomb sites which they do and they win. The camping is ridiculous. This one match I couldn't go anywhere spawn in BAM!!! dead. Respawn BAM. Go near the bomb site BAM!!!
Such a garbage mode unless you are a camper.

@Tasuki Demolition WAS a good mode. Its basically Search N Destroy with Respawns and you have to destroy both bombs. I haven't played WW2 yet so I don't know if the bomb sites are 'fair' in that they don't favour either side particularly or if the maps are great for it. Its very much a Team game though and you as a 'team' decide which bomb to go for first. At most you can send 1 or 2 to the other site to either plant, get set up up to help or clear the enemy and keep them going back to defend. The main group though should work together to get the first bomb planted. That also takes a couple of the team to flank, get onto their side and try to clear out any campers/defenders. Communication does help as you call out where enemies may be holed up so the flankers/slayers do their job. The planter usually is one with explosive resistance or stealth but also has to rely on his team to give him protection.
If you aren't working as a team, especially as an attacker, its tough. Defending is easier from a solo perspective as you can see where the bombs are, where your team mates are and can make educated guesses as to where you are needed most. Its not as if you have to get a bomb planted. If you are up against a good 'team' though, defending isn't easy either - if they get a bomb planted as they then become the 'defenders' and unless you have 'slayers' and communicating where the attackers are, then you won't get cover if you are trying to defuse.
The reason its popular is because its very much a team game. The better a team works together, the more successful they will be. Its also not a mode for running and gunning so much. Campers aren't 'camping' but playing the objective, holding down the bomb site area. People confuse camping, which is often sat in corners waiting for 'traffic' to come to them with 'tactical' gamers who are playing the objective. Its NO different in games like Battlefield either where some players will be defending objectives by holding down routes, keeping a sight line on the objective.
Games like 'Team' Deathmatch are the equivalent to everyone playing as 'strikers' or the Quarterback - everyone can play whatever style suits their preference to get as many kills with as few deaths but no set roles. Everyone wants to score the most goals or throw the most TD passes in the hope of being the MVP but Demolition requires team-work and co-ordination. You need the strikers to kill the enemy and midfielders to protect the bomb planter/diffusers - all calling out enemy positions so the strikers/midfielders can deal with those.
If you watch 'pro's' play, the same person usually plants/diffuses with the best slayers getting into the oppositions 'half' to kill the enemies and stop them getting to the bomb site in the first place with the other(s) defending the actual bomb and/or carrier just in case they 'slip past' the slayers or the slayers get killed and not back in position yet. If they are defending, the strikers/slayers still flank to get into the oppositions side with the midfielders/defenders sticking around the bomb site itself or at most just into the oppositions side if you have them spawn trapped.
Big maps are best for 'random' teams and you can get by with relatively decent players who can use their brain to work out where to be, what job to do etc. If you are defending and see 3 going to one bomb site, its obvious that you need to go to the other. If you are attacking, you could go with the 3 to weight the attack to your advantage - clear that bomb first...
It may be that you aren't used to the mode. You don't go planting the bomb unless you know the area is clear or your team are going to give you the cover - you do need to clear the defenders first or at least have people to do that role.
