Well then I think it looks nice and I'm curious how it plays. I fear though that all that social hocus pocus will pull away attention from the actual driving. I'm not a fan of doing "challenges" in a racing game, so I'll wait and see how this turns out. Good Project Cars is just around the corner too!

Top 5 Indies I'd recommend you try: #1 Lovecraft's Untold Stories, #2 Moonlighter, #3 Hotline Miami, #4 Inside, #5 Into the Breach.
For my taste it seems to be aimed a little bit too much towards the "0-attention-span-facebook-twitter-generation" but I'll gladly be proven wrong if the game is any good!

I hear its similar to Project Gotham Racing, Which I hope is true as i enjoyed that series & its a shame to see Microsft consign it to history. Looking forward to trying out the PS+ version of Driveclub

Project Cars actually seems like it could be pretty decent. I'm hoping it's a good alternative until Polyphony decides to bring GT 7.
Project Cars seemed really good from the five or so minutes I played at EGX. I did an interview with one of the directors, which I'll put up shortly.
I definitely get the Project Gotham Racing vibes in DriveClub - it definitely slots into that space between sim and arcade, where you feel like you're driving a real car, but it's not going to punish you at every corner.
Seems like a great year for racing games overall - especially when you factor Mario Kart and Forza into the equation. The Crew is probably the only one I'm still not convinced by, but Reflections make good racing games, so fingers crossed!
After watching some videos on twitch over the weekend, I preordered this. To me it looks like a really good arcade racer. I was worried about the social features being stupid and annoying. seems though that they are just challenges and such, and can just be ignored if you like. If it turns out to be a lot like PGR, I'll be a happy man.

Sammy, I played The Crew Beta on PC and I have to say the controls all were pretty floaty (actually the cars in WatchDogs drove better) and the whole structure of the game sounds good in theory but in reality it was all full of trademark Ubisoft cut'n paste Missions and Challenges to slowly unlock stuff for your car, while some might enjoy it, it felt really stiff and artificial to me and the controls were nowhere near the feel you get when driving a NFS game (I don't like them too much but always thought the controls are a nice blend between arcady and a touch of realism).

And the controls still sucked. That's disappointing.
To compare it with "BLUR" - my absolute favourite arcade racer of all time, it truly was horrible. I can imagine you can get used to it, but I rather have a game that drives naturally well and doesn't force me to adjust my playstyle.

Apparently they've delayed it a month for a second beta in November? I don't know if a month's time is enough to fix the controls but I guess we can hope. I was semi-interested in The Crew but all these negative impressions have me thinking about not even bothering with it at all.
Does anyone know when this game is actually being released in UK? As I'm confused. Gamescom the release date was mentioned as 8th, this website states it as 8th, but on the Game website it's stated as the 10th and Evolution's own website states 10th. So whats going on here? Anyone know?
Ok so how do I get Drive Club for free? I looked every where but all I find is where I can purchase the full game. The only thing I found is something that says not available and when I click on it it says Error and then it says the reason for the Error is I already own PS+ WTF?

Apparently server problems with the game are affecting the release of the Plus edition, they said it should be online soon. I was having the same problem and question until I was able to find that out after a few web searches.
