I think I'm the only one here who has  strong opinion against the indie games right now and it's not even that I'm against them, I love a lot of indie games. My problem is I don't view these games as replacements for AAA productions, and there are millions of others who feel the same way, but Sony seems to think they are suitable replacements as opposed to having these games as complimentary which is what they should be. Sure third parties are providing games like Watch_Dogs, Metal Gear Solid V, Destiny, Assassin's Creed, etc. But those games can be bought on Xbox One. I can't get Dead Rising 3, Forza 5, Titanfall, Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive or Halo on PS4. And there are good downloadable games set for Xbox One as well, in fact I'm personally looking more forward to Lococycle than any of the indie games Sony has shown for PS4.
To be fair, I know what studios Sony has under its umbrella and I have faith that those companies will deliver and eventually make the PS4 an awesome machine so I've decided to accept the fact I'm making a long-term investment even if the 10+ months that follow inFamous' early 2014 release completely suck.

Hm fair enough points,
It really seems to boil down to preference if exclusives and having played it for a while on pc planet side 2 alone is enough for me to want a ps4, then there is killzone which I just recently learned is more my cup of tea than gears, still hoping for some big naughty dog announcement and maybe resistance 4. I personally really don't have the impression those indie games are replacing anything, rather that ms is shooting their loads early and xboxone gamers might face the inevitable game draught in early 2014. I could be wrong though! Also I do t like kinect, don't want to use it don't want to have it dot want to pay for it. Again personal preference and if you find what you like on Xbox one the better! I congratulate you to getting a fine piece of hardware! Everything else is just preference!

And... At the end of the day were talking about electronical toys here!
(Yeah love them... I admit haha)

I'm hoping to have both a PS4 and Xbox One eventually. There's the $100 price difference though and Naughty Dog is my favorite developer so PS4 this year, Xbox One after the price drop to $400 and Halo 5 (love that series) is out.

@gamer83  dude with every comment you have had i could not possibly agree more! Brilliant analysis, great thoughts. I most strongly agree with you on the indie front, and also the Sony fanboyizm. It's fine to have a strong lean towards a console of you're liking but its ridiculous when I as a consumer can't express my frustration without being torn down by a by a near sighted tool who made my legit complaint seem easily over lookable. Great convo and @scollurio great topic!

I wish I hadn't deleted the PS3 message I got off of someone on this site for daring to say that I thought the 3DS is the best handheld I've ever owned. Apparently I was a "ttl dpsht" because the Vita is clearly superior because its more powerful and looks better as a machine. They were the only reasons he gave. I sat laughing but then just sighed, why bother being so devoted to one company? A great game is a great game, regardless what system it's on. A fanboy is just a sad individual who's hatred for Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo will just prevent him or her missing out on some truly wonderful video games. As Jim Carey said in Kick Ass 2, "Who cares what goes in your mouth as long as your hearts in the right place" (not technically a good analogy, but you get my meaning).

I want my one-go-to box for my gaming needs (which is now PS3 and will be PS4 soon)

Yes, I hear ya.

Ah yeah and of course the biggest gripe I have about PC gaming is that I never get enough. As soon as I cannot play a game on ULTRA high settings anymore this URGE sets in to upgrade, like "this is not as good as this game COULD look" etc... but honestly, its crap. when I have a console I applaud the devs to whatever they squeezed out of it and thats it. THIS IS how the game looks. period. It may sound odd to some, but it gives me peace of mind!

That doesn't sound odd at all. In fact, because of this reason I have not played some awesome games that I own, for example;
• Bioshock: Infinite - Can't run in Max
• Witcher 2 - Can't run in Max
• Metro 2033 - Can't run in max

As much as I love pc's and whilst I think hardware wise there is no comparison to a console (as long as you spend the money) it just doesn't seem to be at the centre of the gaming universe, all the focus is on consoles.
I never knew that Sony exclusives were so good... them standard of games are what I am intersted in !

Currently Playing: ---> MGS V: PP (PS4) - Until Dawn (PS4) - Dota 2 (PC) & Loads of Indies! (long live the Indies)

Ha interesting parts there about AMD and PC in general, let me put my 2cents to that.

I personally (with a PC background, Nintendo background, XBOX background) think that the CELL processor of the PS3 was actually what held it back in the beginning. You know something can be innovative and awesome on paper but if its so complicated to code for that many devs shy away from it, what good is it? I mean, now that the PS4 is on the x86 platform like a PC coding for it will be MUCH easier.

I do agree that cell was the initial stumbling block and one hell of a cost!(that Xbox benefited from thanks to IBM) but after so many years they should know it buy now! cant find the quote but remember some programmers from Sony first party actually would have liked cell 2 (along with crytek) the crappy GPU actually cost more than the cell chip in PS3 iirc. Not saying going to x86 was not smart, it was the right thing to do for Sony. I just hate seeing good tech moved aside.

I get what you mean... I guess it's a bit like that video2000 vs VHS thing where VHS "won" because it was the "cheaper" and "less complex" tech whereas video2000 was superior in quality. In times like this things have to be quick and worth their value. So going x86 is a great thing to do economically wise, but you see, I guess they learned from not only PS3 but also VITA which, if you think about it, is tech-wise WAY ahead of its time and not many people adopted it. Sure that tech has a price, but even the 3DS had to drastically drop its price early and get some good games before it began shifting units like hot cakes. The tech in the 3ds? Conventional at best but sold and marketed well.

Oh yeah I so know what you mean, like I stated before, I want to play in the little sparetime I have and on console I enjoy being on a "level playing field" also with controller and such. On PC sometimes, when I played online shooters, I got owned pretty bad, I was thinking "MAYBE its because this guy has a better rig, less graphics lag, better monitor with less display lag, maybe better mouse with less input lag and higher resolution etc... " I know it sounds paranoid, but this how i see it. When playing on console I really enjoy knowing that most people I face and that beat the hell out of me, are just better than me! Its all in my head of course (mostly) but you know... once you believe in something its real for you.

That said I really can't wait to dig my mind into PS4!

Im more concerned with getting honest reviews, without fanboyz around ,im sure we would miss all the mindless remarks from people around the globe. Plus who else would make us miserable?

While I personally prefer Nintendo (I grew up with it), I think Pc, Xbox and Sony all have their own merits. I defend every one, each time it is brought up in an argument, because having a preference doesn't matter. As long as you enjoy the games you like, more power to you.

I for once would like to see an Xbox fanboy defend the Xbox One without mentioning the 360 or the PS3 and without comparing XBL to the PS3 version of the PSN. Also, without mentioning the Kinnect because we have yet to the full capabilities of the PS4 eye. Compare next gen with next gen!

Actually I don't mind people defending their choice of hardware, I don't just like people who attack someone for something irrelevant.
