Publisher of the year: there are a few I could say but I think Sony is my vote, simply because of how committed they've been when it comes to supplying the console with a steady stream of great games.
Staff member of the year: tough call but I think my vote goes to the ever present SammyB. You can't go anywhere on the site without seeing Sammy being a helpful and generally nice person.
Publisher of the year goes to Sega for the excellent Yakuza 0, Sonic Mania and PUYO Tetris as well as owning Atlus so that we got Persona 5.
Special mention for Capcom for the excellent Resident Evil VII, finally fixing Street Fighter V and the recent Mega Man announcement.
Staffer of the year has to go to @get2sammyb, his articles always makes me smile, I really like how he's championing VR and his constant Sonic Forces rants were amusing đ
Older than I care to remember but have been gaming since owning a wooden Atari 2600 and played pretty much everything inbetween.
Publisher: Sony. Don't really know what else to pick since EA is crap, Bethesda is overrated, Activision same old story, etc etc...
STAFF: I'm picking Sammy, he's the member I see the most in the posts, he's very active and he is a cool guy, good reviews! -1 point for his love for Taylor Swift and his gifs xD
I would also like to shoutout Quintumply cause I think he's a really great guy, always answering the questions and does great reviews!
ShogunRok also pretty cool and funny...I'm sad we can only pick one!
I love you all and I love this site <3
Hmmm well I'm gonna give the Publisher of the year to Nintendo after last year and this year it's night and day even though I prefer Sony games and i like them a lot more.
But you gotta give credit where it's due.
For staff you are some very fine people but eh give it to Sammy.
Publisher - Square Enix
(Gotta be consistent since they published my GOTY, NieR. Also they have really committed to FFXV and kept that thing going remarkably this year, even though I havenât played it yet, with all the mountains of expansions. I can respect the effort to create an ongoing quality experience, and an attempt to reinvent the franchise. Also having brought FF12 back with Zodiac Age, and brought over FF9 this year. Not to mention Life is Strange Before the Storm, which also I havenât played yet, but shows the diversity of the games they put out this year, not all just Final Fantasy stuff.)
Push Square staff member OTY - Tasuki
As stated earlier, an absolutely brutal question as I adore every contributor and staff member here. But the award has to go to Tasuki. In the same vein that I respect the garbage man for hauling all my stinky spoiled food and rubbish out every week, I would never want to do his job. The garbage man may not be the most glamorous guy in the community, but if we didnât have him, weâd all be living in refuse.
(That, and this vote should allow me one âget-out-of-ban free cardâ đ)
Favorite Publisher: Activision. After listening to fans and returning CoD to its roots I can't think of any other that makes me think they deserve this. Also with the news that some new weapons are coming to CoD: WWII and they won't be in supply drops but given to players for free for completing challenges in game and not in supply drops is huge in my eyes (take notes EA).
Favorite Push Square Staff Member: Obviously I can't vote in this.
RetiredPush Square Moderator and all around retro gamer.
Favorite Publisher: Honestly, I'm gonna have to give this one to Nintendo, but it was close. I thoroughly enjoyed HZD and Uncharted Lost Legacy, but I really, really enjoyed Breath of the Wild. It was the only game this year, besides Resident Evil 7, that actually consumed my life for a period of time. It took me 9 months on and off to get through HZD because it just didn't hold my attention very well. Also, having played through Mario Odyssey in co-op, it was really enjoyable as well. Maybe if I had played Nier and Nioh this would've been Sony, but I'm trying to be fair.
Favorite Staff Member: Robert Ramsey for being such a trooper with all the FFXV stuff he's had to slog through, and being top Weeb overall. Keep on keepin' on good sir!
Publisher probably goes to Sega. Sonic Mania was fun, I really liked Yakuza Kiwami despite being a little dated and not finishing everything, and of course, Persona 5.
I don't really have a staffer of the year. Everyone does well in their own way.

While it's been sorta easy to pick my GOTYs this part is difficult...
As Publisher I'd say Square Enix, because - believe or not - FFXV, which I played during Dec 16 and Jan, sort of re-invoked my interest for Japanese Games and this enabled me to enjoy these gems Nier and Persona 5 - my absolute highlights this year.
And for the staff... I'd just pick Robert Ramsey, solely due to the Persona 5 review, else everybody here seems to do a mighty fine job. Thanks a bunch for that, btw

@Constable_What
I don't understand the logic you've used at all for voting EA. It feels like the junkyard bully has come out with his spiked club and tried to club some baby hedgehogs to death but has tripped and landed on his own club, doing some big damage to himself and your reaction is - "Aww poor fella, here have a medal you trooper."
@LieutenantFatman Yeah I don't think you understood at all.
It's more like Icarus (EA) flying too close to the sun people (everyone else), pointing and shouting as he falls to the ground, and then them telling stories about it. I'm not giving a medal at all; I'm just stating that they're my favorite this year because of how their mistakes and contempt for their consumers will probably end up as something beneficial for gamers.
This form of thinking is called introspective-optimism, and that's my reasoning behind it.
@Constable_What Oh I get it, their extreme greed has brought nasty exploitative corporate practices to everyone's attention and as such they may have accidentally done us all a favour as it might deter others from doing the same due to it backfiring so spectaculary. Nice.
