Hi folks,

I've got a birthday coming up and as a 23 year old still lumped with a PS4, I'm really struggling to come up with some ideas for presents that people could potentially get me. To be honest, I'm not overly sure if I even want a new Playstation game at the moment because I have a backlog, but I've still got a few games on my wish list from the last gen that I never got around to buying. I was wondering if anybody would recommend any of these?

There's Immortals: Fenyx Rising. Looks like a fun Zelda clone with a gorgeous art style, but I'm worried that it will get a bit too repetitive with all of the puzzles and dungeons, but it looks like some good fun. There's also Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate. I have never played a Mortal Kombat game before, but a few of my mates are big fans and this comes with all of the DLC so it's a good value for money package. There's also The Outer Worlds, which I've heard is probably the best reviewed game from my bunch being considered, although the sequel in development is not releasing on Playstation platforms as far as I know. I never played Fallout Vegas because I was too young at the time, but it looks like it has some similar ideas to Prey and I really enjoyed it. Finally, there's Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2. I really enjoyed the original game, but I know exactly what I should expect from it and I've heard it's not really as good as the first Lego foray into Marvel was because it does nothing new for a Lego game. There's also Marvel's Avengers. I've always been temped to buy it since it's Avengers and I'm a huge Marvel fan, but I've always tended to steer away because of the poor reception and sales at launch, although I know that an expansion involving Black Panther is on the way. Sackboy: A Big Adventure is still a little too expensive sadly, and Marvel's Spider Man: Miles Morales seems really tricky to even get at retailers like Amazon.

I hope this gives you enough info, again, I'm not too fussed about getting any new games really, but I really appreciate your help in informing my relative's purchases depending on what I could ask them for. I was thinking a few Blu-Ray's, a Watch Dogs figure or possibly a Chemical Brothers T-shirt if not? Thanks anyways

I completed 100% of Fenyx Rising and its DLC and I think it's just the right size for a game like this. You pretty much have to be into puzzles though (I very much am), as they're a big part of the game. Overall I thought it was very good and I would play a sequel for sure.

MK11 Ultimate is a pretty good entry point to fighting games - especially if you have people to play it with. Note that fighting games in general do require some actual practice to get the most out of them. It's kind of like playing an instrument. Of course you could just mash some buttons with friends and still have fun but it really shines if you're willing to put some work into it.
Unlike many fighting games, MK11 actually has good single player content too - which definitely will be helpful for beginners.

Sackboy is amazing in co-op with friends. Such a charming game and it can be more challenging than it looks.

I don't really have any comments on the other stuff, sorry - still hope this helps
