Topic: GLARING Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition Bugs

I just got Definitive Edition today (probably should have waited a few weeks for some patches) and it has some major issues that hinder playability. Firstly, when you complete a mission or favor, you don't level up. I mean the statistic for Face, Cop, or Triad leveling does not show at all and sometimes you can't even MOVE. Secondly,at the first surveillance mission it always glitches in which the camera is fixed on the thugs and they do nothing and you can't do anything either. From there you have to "start from last checkpoint" just to beat them up, THEN after the hacking the game MIGHT OR MIGHT NOT send you the next objective (use the surveillance system) and if it does tell you, once you reach your apartment NOTHING HAPPENS. When the game works it's awesome, but I can't progress at all with these major problems. I can't play past the first few missions. Anyone have any suggestions?

This seems really weird -- I didn't have any of these problems when I was reviewing it. Did you get a physical copy or digital?

I bought the physical copy. I was thinking of uninstalling then reinstalling but I'm not sure if that'll do much. It worked fine the first time I booted it up but then it started acting up, so I tried a new game hours later it acted up the same way it did after a while the first time.

EDIT: Well it turns out that reinstalling the game worked, because I have gotten past the trouble spots and am thoroughly enjoying this game. I think something was messed up during installation, because when it was reinstalling I waited to play it until after it was 100% installed. Thanks for the responses everyone!
