The first encounter with Baldur where Kratos insta-heals (something he can't actually do in the game) made me build the assumption that all God's have some sort of regenerative powers, which is why Baldur's death always confused me.
However, based on what happens to some Gods in Ragnarok (and also 2018), it seems like regeneration isn't a base ability, so can God's just die like any regular mortal person can? Was Baldur's immortality only a result of the protection magic, which is why Kratos can kill them when the spell is broken? Then why include that Kratos self-heal moment? It just muddles the scene I have always felt.
Like can anyone explain to me what separates a God from a regular person? What actually makes a God a God. They all seem to have degrees of super strength, and much longer lifespans than regular people but from there it just seems really muddy to me. Some seem to have actual superpowers, but others seem to have powers that come from weapons that seemingly anyone can use. Some have a really wide arsenal of abilities; others seem to have only one. Some have powers that are thematic to what they are the God of, whereas others they are the God of X, but this seems to have no bearing on what they can do.
@colonelkilgore Welp, that’s a pretty chunky game indeed. @MightyDemon82 I’m at 36 ravens, I think
And yeah, the sound (and 3D audio on headphones) definitely helps
I think I’ve beaten 2 of the tombstones and attempted a few others but decided to leave them for later after dying several times. Hopefully I’ll eventually be strong enough to do it without lowering difficulty - but remembering how much trouble the final Valkyrie gave me on normal difficulty, I don’t expect it to be a cakewalk on “no mercy” 😂
Following the latest update the compass seems to have disappeared for me.
At first I thought it was a intended feature but it’s still not back. I might have also somehow turned it off by accident.
Over 45 hours in & nearing the end. I would like to get as many side quests done before the end as possible. I’ve tried the settings but no luck.
Anyone know how to fix this?

I’m doing the Muspelheim crucible challenges now and let’s just say I didn’t expect them to be this many
All a walk in a park compared to the Berserker encounters though
@EaglyTheKawaiiShika I’ve done all of those. They might be hard depending on when you get to them but they’re nowhere near the Berserkers either
To be fair, that particular one was the one I spent most time on.
Went back to go through Brok's funeral, God damn I am crying again.
I don't agree with others that say Ragnarok is this flawless, ten out of ten, masterpiece for the ages. But it does provide a level of polish and presentation that really isn't the norm for gaming right now. While I couldn't stand 2018's combat, I loved Ragnarok's combat. And any game that makes me physically laugh out loud, cheer at my TV and burst into tears so hard I have to take a break as regularly as this did, has to be one of a truly special calibre.
My game of the year and it isn't even really close.
Found the one remaining bug in the game... there's a legendary chest in Alfheim that I couldn't work out - turns out I wasn't being stupid, it was the game's physics that refused to work until reloading the game.
Just 5 trophies away from the platinum now, been taking my time and enjoying every minute of this amazing game. I need 2 artefacts and then all that remains are epic fights and I believe the other trophy I need will be tied to one of those (sword hilts)
@MightyDemon82 some fights are required but not sufficient for the "relics and hilts" trophy - there are also relics found elsewhere, including some just lying around
btw, I got 100% on all realms and the platinum already but I might still go back and explore some, as I heard there are some extra interactions unlocked after beating one of the post-game quests and I might want to see those
Searching for over 10 minutes on Google and YouTube have proved to be absolutely useless, so I figured I'd ask here. I'll put it in spoilers just to be safe... I'm trying to do the Lunda side quest The Mysterious Orb, but I can't figure out how to get out of Freya's Camp to even start the quest to find the armor pieces and the orb. Any walkthrough videos just show you already out of her camp looking for pieces of it. Any help?
