If you are playing this game without headphones you are doing it wrong. It's creepy but really puts you in Senua's shoes.

@Splat I have proper stereo surround sound, I expect it'll be better than headphones... though headphones have surprisingly good sound!

Fantastic game! Really thought provoking and with headphones on it was so immersive. Crazy how into it I got! I was genuinely angry when I got to the grand finale...

As far as the game itself goes, I agree with PushSquare's 8/10. I'm going to take HellBlade as an experience rather than a game, much like The Last Guardian which I loved and look back fondly on.
I'm glad I played it, but I'm not sure if i'll ever replay it. Having said that...only 1 trophy from the platinum...

PSA:
There's one section towards the end of the game that's extremely glitchy. It's a mountain you enter with a torch. I believe that where Jim Sterling got his game breaking bug. I had to restart the section 3 times and luckily the autosaves were kind.
I got stuck in a rock twice and fell through the map once. Only run when you absolutely have to.

@get2sammyb - There is a part when you are going after Surtr that I'm stuck on. You have to walk across a beam and everything under you is on fire. I keep falling off the beam and I don't know why? I'm assuming you need to balance with the controller but I keep falling off.

I'm afraid to keep trying and lose my progress for dying too much.

@Splat Hold the focus button (R2) when crossing the beam, when Senua does the falling motion push the left analog stick quickly in the other direction. Worked for me. I'm pretty sure you don't have to balance the controller, although I did keep it still when crossing.

I need to get this. I LOVED the binaural audio in Corpse Party, and, from what I've heard, it's even better in this game!

Currently Playing: Fields of Mistria (PC); Cookie Clicker (PC); Metaphor: ReFantazio (PC); Overboard! (PC)

@Mega-Gazz no no no you must try it with 3d audio headphones

I currently have the OG playstation wireless stereo headset but planning on buying the platinum headset if there's a black Friday deal... should I wait until that to play this game?

There is a part of the game in a barn with something chasing you that I died like at least 10 times, no permadeath

I hated that part. I have mixing feelings on the game as a whole. It's looks and sounds great but WAY too much of a focus on puzzles for me. I knew there would be puzzles in the game but I didn't realize going in that was the main focus of the game.
